Japan's Prime Minister Abe is pronounced Ah-bay, but POTUS said Ah-bee. If pronounced like that, abi あび 阿鼻 means Avici, the lowest level of hell (like the musician Avicii who died recently).
I watched the joint press conference from Feb and POTUS pronounced his name correctly then, but now (live) he keeps saying AH-BEE. Maybe nothing, but these are interesting times full of meaning.
