She may well have had reasons to suicide and as for killing herself with a scarf or something similar, it happens all the time. Used to work in a field where I was often in mental heath facilities. This was a constant concern. There is a reason they take belts, shoelaces and even sheets from prisoners and patients who are on suicide watch.
