In a first for Southern California, San Diego’s federal court is planning a mass prosecution of people who illegally cross the border.

The policy of prosecuting up to 100 migrants per day is already in use in Arizona and Texas, but shows a significant escalation in President Trump’s plan to secure the border.

San Diego’s Operation Streamline will move groups of migrants from arraignment to sentencing in a matter of hours.
