Any forms of media (music, movies, books, etc) are INFORMATION. After 50 years, the spiritual power of the INFORMATION doubles, and after 75 years its spiritual power triples, etc.
When watching an old movie for therapeutic reasons, it's probably better to watch color movies. This is the main reason why I'm watching Gone with the Wind (1939) in color.
