It appears the icecream was already well frozen at the time the frog came to be lying there.
The frog has partially melted the edges as it has settled in, and then been crushed quite flat, before being frozen into this final state of affairs.
Key questions is; when do they put the lid on? Immediately after filling - which would create steam or do they freeze it first - uncovered, then a lid goes on last, before boxing. This is likely where the frog came to be.
