Spokane County GOP requests AUDIT of 2020 election
Republicans in Spokane County, Washington, have asked for an audit of the 2020 presidential election, according to a report from Just the News.
The report added the audit request came in a petition presented to county commissioners by Spokane County GOP State Committeeman Matt Hawkins. The probe would specifically look at the election processes in Spokane County, as well as the tabulation machines.
In June, The Center Square reported that a citizen watchdog group had failed to convince Spokane County to perform an audit of the 2020 presidential election. A member of the Election Integrity Committee under the umbrella of the Spokane Republican Party, Dennis Hawkhurst, pointed out in Center Square’s article that there were a reported 353,926 registered voters in 2020 but 382,560 ballots.
Just the News reported that Committeeman Hawkins told the Board of Commissioners, “We’re not trying to say any one person has done anything wrong. We’re not trying to say that any fraud has been committed. We are trying to say we want to restore confidence in the election system.”

An analysis from Governing Daily reported that the Board of County Commissioners’ attorney, Mark McClain, stated that it “didn’t look like” the board had the authority to conduct an audit, and suggested that, “I think where you guys need to go is the Secretary of State.”
Their report further noted that Hawkins had flagged anomalies among voter registrations via the work of the Washington Voter Research Project’s canvassing initiative. According to Hawkins, a large percentage of suspicious home addresses that were canvassed had more registered voters than residents in the house.
Interestingly, Hawkins additionally pointed out that there were no cameras in some areas of the elections operations center set up to record activity surrounding ballot processing, The Center Square reported.
Just the News revealed that the petition to audit Spokane County is supported by the Spokane County GOP and two district representatives, Rob Chase and Bob McCaslin.

Missouri will now require photo ID in the upcoming November election
According to a new bill signed into law in Missouri, those seeking to cast a ballot will need to show proper identification.
House Bill 1878, signed by Missouri Republican Gov. Mike Parson on Wednesday, will become law on Aug. 28 and require persons seeking to vote to show photo identification. It also allows those without photo identification to cast a provisional ballot under certain conditions.
As reported by Just the News, the bill “allows people without a photo ID to cast a provisional ballot, however they must return to the polling place before 7 p.m. with a proper photo ID for the ballot to be counted. Or, the person’s signature must match the signature on file with the election authority.”
The bill specifically lists the acceptable forms of photo identification, which include: a non-expired Missouri driver’s license, non-expired or non-expiring Missouri nondriver’s license, or a photo identification issued by the United States, the state of Missouri, the Missouri National Guard, the United States Armed Forces or the United States Department of Veteran Affairs, as well as various other documents meeting certain requirements.
Importantly, voters who wish to vote and do not already have identification can receive a nondriver’s license at no cost from a Missouri state or fee office.
Additionally, the bill contains several other measures to protect election integrity and ensure free, fair, and secure elections.
For example, it authorizes the secretary of state to audit voter rolls, bans drop boxes (which are subject to tampering or fraudulent activity), and bans Missouri or any political subdivision “from receiving private money for preparing, administering or conducting an election, including registering voters.” The bill also includes various other provisions, some of which relate to absentee voting and vote-counting machines.
In passing this law, Missouri joins various other states that have also passed tougher election laws despite objections by Democrats. When discussing the bill, Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft succinctly stated, “You want it to be easy to vote, you want it to be hard to cheat, and you want the people to have credibility in the results.”

What expects humankind during the inversion of the Earth's magnetic field: threats imagined and real
The Earth's global magnetic field generated by an internal dynamo mechanism has been continuously changing at different time scales since its formation. Paleodata indicate that relatively long periods of evolutionary changes can be replaced by quick magnetic inversions. Based on observations, the Earth's magnetic field is currently weakening and the magnetic poles are shifting, possibly indicating the beginning of the inversion process. This paper uses the Gauss coefficients to approximate the behavior of the Earth's magnetic field components over the past 100’years. Using the extrapolation method, it is shown that the magnetic dipole component will vanish by the year 3600 and that at that time the geomagnetic field will be determined by the smaller value of a quadrupole magnetic component. A numerical model is developed which allows one to evaluate and compare both galactic and solar cosmic ray fluxes in the Earth's magnetosphere and on its surface during the periods of dipole or quadrupole domination. The role of atmosphere in absorbing particles of cosmic rays is taken into account. An estimate of radiation danger to humans is obtained for the ground level and for the International Space Station altitude of ~400 km. It is shown that in the most unfavorable, minimum field, part of the inversion process the galactic cosmic ray flux increases by no more than a factor of three, implying that the radiation danger does not exceed the maximum permissible dose. Thus, the danger of the magnetic inversion periods for humans and nature generally should not have fatal consequences for humans and nature despite dramatically changing the structure of the Earth's magnetosphere.
