Israeli security establishments see nuclear agreement bad for 'Israel'

Israeli Channel 13 military affairs analyst, Alon Ben David, said Sunday that there is a consensus in the Israeli occupation security establishments that the Iranian nuclear agreement is bad for "Israel".

Ben David pointed out that the Israeli Mossad believes that the agreement revives the Iranian economy, gives a new impetus to Iran in the region, and makes it difficult for the Mossad to operate.

The Israeli military affairs analyst said that none of the sides asks "Israel" about its opinion about the agreement, adding that the US and Iran both want an agreement, and "unfortunately" the agreement will be made at the end of the day.

Concern prevails inside the Israeli occupation over a return to the Iranian nuclear agreement, as experts believe that "Israel" will not succeed in impeding the Iranian nuclear program.

This comes as the Israeli occupation is witnessing a political crisis and as the Knesset is expected to dissolve itself this week, in preparation for the fifth elections in just three years.

Lapid to Borrell: Tehran visit 'strategic mistake'

Earlier, POLITICO revealed that Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid strongly criticized EU foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, over a visit to Tehran with an aim to revive talks over the Iranian nuclear deal, which the Israeli occupation has long opposed.

According to the website, Lapid told Borrell that “this is a strategic mistake that sends the wrong message to Iran.”

It is noteworthy that at the end of his meeting in Iran, Borrell said that “The negotiations were stalled — no prospects of restarting — and thanks to these discussions, in the coming days they will start again, with close contacts between the United States and the Iranians.”
