"A neighbor said that he recognized Denise Pesina as being from the neighborhood. He also said that there was an odd occurrence before the parade. There were about 30 to 40 people gathered at about 7:30 a.m. Monday, July 4, 2022 near the intersection near Denise Pesina’s home. The neighbor said there was no indication what the group was doing there. The neighbor said he thought the gathering seemed odd for some reason — even before he was aware that the Highland Park mass shooting occurred."
