Kentucky’s State Supreme Court Blocks AG’s Request To Reinstate Near-Total Abortion Ban

On Tuesday, the Kentucky Supreme Court denied the state attorney general’s emergency appeal to have a near-total abortion ban blocked by a circuit court judge reinstated.

Last month, the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade triggered a Kentucky law, the Human Life Protection Act, that bans all abortions aside from those performed to save the mother’s life or prevent her serious injury.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed a lawsuit on behalf of state abortion providers last week alleging the law unconstitutionally forces women to “remain pregnant against their will.”

Last week, Jefferson County Circuit Court Judge Mitch Perry granted a temporary restraining order to block the law. Attorneys for the two abortion clinics in Kentucky argued the state’s constitution protects the right to an abortion. In defending the state law, Cameron’s legal team said no such constitutional right exists.

On Saturday, the Kentucky Court of Appeals denied Cameron’s request to stay the decision. Since then, abortions have continued in the state.

Kentucky’s Attorney General Daniel Cameron asked the state Supreme Court to reinstate the ban.

On Tuesday, that request was denied.

“The [state] Supreme Court’s decision to continue delaying enforcement of Kentucky’s Human Life Protection Act and Heartbeat Law is disappointing,” Cameron told local reporters. “We will not be deterred in defending these important laws, and our team will make a strong case tomorrow in Jefferson Circuit Court to have the laws reinstated.”

Samuel Crankshaw of Kentucky’s ACLU responded, saying, “The Kentucky Supreme Court has now denied [AG Cameron’s] second attempt to block an emergency order protecting Kentuckians’ rights to privacy, bodily autonomy, and self-determination, as outlined in the state constitution.”

Kentucky is the third state to have its abortion trigger law temporarily blocked. Pro-choice activists have filed many lawsuits to stop or delay the enforcement of abortion bans.

Judges in Texas and Louisiana have blocked trigger laws and will hold hearings in July to decide on the lawsuits.

Uvalde Mayor Blows the Whistle, Says Officials Engaged in “Cover-Up” of Police Response to Shooting

As TFTP reported last month, the Uvalde shooter was able to fire off rounds outside the school building for 12 minutes, unobstructed and unchallenged by law enforcement before he entered the school and murdered children. He then entered the school where he was allowed to remain unhindered for 1 hour and 17 minutes before a tactical unit with Border Patrol showed up, disobeyed the order not to go in, and finally took him out.

As we reported last week, a still shot from a surveillance camera inside Robb Elementary showed that Uvalde cops were well equipped to engage the shooter. At least one of the officers is seen with a bullet proof shield nearly an hour before police would enter the classroom.

The details known by the public about the police response and subsequent investigation have many Texans claiming that a cover-up is underway. Now, the Uvalde mayor himself, Don McLaughlin, has come right out and said it.

“I’m not confident, 100%, in DPS because I think it’s a cover-up,” he said of the Texas Department of Public Safety, the lead agency tasked with investigating the reason why cops allowed the shooter to remain unchallenged for over an hour.

“McGraw’s covering up for maybe his agencies,” McLaughlin said, putting Col. Steven McCraw, the DPS director on blast.

McCraw told the Texas Senate that the police response was an “abject failure” and placed sole blame on school police chief Pedro “Pete” Arredondo. but McLaughlin says there is ore to it than the failure of a single cop.

“Every agency in that hallway is gonna have to share the blame,” he said, pointing out that multiple agencies were in the school. “At this point, I don’t know what to believe and what not to believe.”

“I lost confidence because the narrative changed from DPS so many times and when we asked questions, we weren’t getting answers.”

What makes this admission by the mayor so shocking is the fact that just two weeks ago, he said the exact opposite; “there is no cover-up.”

As we reported, parents were thrown to the ground, tasered, and handcuffed outside the school for trying to save their children, while heavily armed officers — with the proper gear to take out a shooter — were inside the school just 19 minutes after the gunman arrived.

Hollywood producer accused of murdering two women could have more victims: DA

A Hollywood producer charged with the murder of a model and her friend who overdosed on drugs was slapped with additional sexual assault charges for unrelated cases — and there could be more victims, LA County District Attorney George Gascón said.

During a press conference on Tuesday, Gascón formally announced David Pearce was charged with the deaths of model Christy Giles and her friend Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, whose bodies were dumped at two separate hospitals on Nov. 13, 2021.

Pearce, 37, was initially arrested the following month and charged for allegedly raping and sexually assaulting four women.

On Tuesday, Gascón said investigators found enough additional evidence to link Pearce with the deaths of Giles and Cabrales-Arzola, and the rape and sexual assault of three additional victims.

“We knew that this was going to be a lengthy investigation, and we started with the charges we knew that we could prove,” Gascón said at the press conference. “Most had to do with the using and the administration of drugs.

“The LAPD did a lot of work here as well as our prosecuting team because we knew that they were murders and we wanted to prove that, and that is the reason why the outstanding charges have been confirmed,” said Gascón.

Other than the two counts of murder, Pearce is facing multiple felony counts in connection with separate incidents involving seven women that allegedly occurred from August 2010 to November 2021.

Those charges include three counts of forcible rape, two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, one count of sodomy and one count of sexual penetration by use of force.

He is also facing two counts of selling/offering to sell a controlled substance to Giles and Cabrales-Arzola. Pearce could face a max sentence of 120 years if convicted of the charges, Gascón said.

Jacob Glucksman, Pearce’s defense attorney, told The Post on Tuesday that his client is being held on inadequate information.

“All the allegations, including the new charges, are based on extremely weak evidence,” Glucksman said. “The DA’s office is prosecuting under the premise of ‘Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.’ The problem is, they haven’t yet located any fire.”

Pearce’s friend, 42-year old actor Brandt Osborn, also was charged with two counts of being an accessory after the fact.

Osborn, a Staten Island native and Hollywood hanger-on, was initially arrested on Dec. 15 but he was released two days later after the DA’s office rejected his arrest information, according to LA County sheriff’s records.

On Tuesday, Gascón said a warrant has been issued for Osborn’s arrest.

Whistleblower Demands Investigation Into Biden’s Nuclear Drag Queen Hiring Process, Alleging ‘Substantial Irregularities’.

Allegations of political influence swirl around Sam Brinton.

A Department of Energy employee has reportedly alleged that the agency allowed “substantial irregularities” to influence its hiring process of Samuel Brinton, a controversial appointee whose work as a drag queen and LGBTQ+ activist has come under scrutiny.

The National Pulse first revealed Brinton’s drag queen alter ego – “Sister Ray Dee O’Active” – in early February. Yesterday, we revealed how Brinton had defended underage gay prostitution website Rentboy.com in a 2015 op-ed.

On February 2nd, an anonymous Department of Energy (DOE) whistleblower sent a letter to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Deputy Inspector General Norbert Vint, alleging that “prohibited personnel practices” were utilized in tapping Brinton for the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary for Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition.

“Undue political influence and preferences were applied” at the DOE to select Brinton for the position, which the employee also alleged Brinton was was potentially unqualified to hold, the letter claims.

Brinton’s “background is limited to select advocacy work and an academic background at the graduate-degree level which together satisfy requirements for the competitive placement of a qualified GS-11 in federal career service, not a high-standing member of the SES,” explained the employee. SES is short for Senior Executive Service, a civil service grade equivalent to general officer or flag officer rank.

“There is concern that making personnel selection decisions for career positions based on political considerations and gender-fluid identity as means of exerting political influence over the workforce, and at the expense of other better qualified candidates, is not the intent of the U.S. civil service laws or the U.S. constitution,” continued the letter, signed by a “Long serving public servant at the U.S. Department of Energy.”

Funeral Home Owner Who Sold Body Parts Pleads Guilty to Fraud

A former Colorado funeral home owner pleaded guilty on Tuesday to a federal charge of defrauding relatives of the dead by dissecting their family members’ corpses and selling the body parts without permission, a practice exposed in a 2018 Reuters investigative report.

Megan Hess, who operated a funeral home called Sunset Mesa and a human body parts business called Donor Services from the same building, entered the plea to the charge of fraud at a hearing before U.S. Magistrate Judge Gordon Gallagher in Grand Junction, Colorado. Gallagher scheduled Hess, who had previously pleaded not guilty, to be sentenced in January, with the prosecution calling for 12 to 15 years in prison.

Hess, 45, admitted on Tuesday that through her funeral home, located in the town of Montrose in the western part of the state, she defrauded at least a dozen families seeking cremation services for deceased relatives. Instead of cremating the bodies, court records show, her body broker company harvested heads, spines, arms, and legs and then sold them, mostly for surgical training and other educational purposes.

Hess had been scheduled to go on trial in three weeks along with her mother, Shirley Koch, who also previously pleaded not guilty. Koch’s change-of-plea hearing is set for July 12.

After Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeremy Chaffin made his sentencing recommendation, the lawyer for Hess, Dan Shaffer, urged a lighter sentence of about two years in prison. Hess has been free on bond since her arrest.

During the hearing, the judge asked Hess to describe in her own words the crimes she committed. Hess initially called the whole affair a “legal travesty.” When prodded by the judge, Hess agreed with the prosecution that she defrauded her victims, though she declined to go into detail.

President Joe Biden is shipping much-needed American oil to foreign countries, including… China.

The whole idea of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), which is owned by the U.S. government, specifically the U.S. Department of Energy, is to hold on to about 700 million barrels of oil in the event of an emergency or disruption.

But now, because His Fraudulency Joe Biden has closed pipelines, killed oil and gas leases, refused to allow refining to expand, and has gone to war with affordable energy; the SPR is releasing about a million gallons a day into the U.S. economy.

Instead of doing something permanent and useful; instead of solving the crisis he created (that put a gallon of gas over five dollars), he’s looking to steady gas prices his collapsing poll numbers by squandering our reserves.

That’s bad enough, so bad the SPR is now at its lowest level since 1986.

Well, when it comes to punishing the American people he so obviously loathes, that’s bad enough is never enough for Biden. Nope. He always finds a way to take his contempt for America and Americans a step further—which he has. Get this:

More than 5 million barrels of oil that were part of a historic U.S. emergency reserves release to lower domestic fuel prices were exported to Europe and Asia last month, according to data and sources, even as U.S. gasoline and diesel prices hit record highs.

[…]

The fourth-largest U.S. oil refiner, Phillips 66, shipped about 470,000 barrels of sour crude from the Big Hill SPR storage site in Texas to Trieste, Italy, according to U.S. Customs data. Trieste is home to a pipeline that sends oil to refineries in central Europe.

Atlantic Trading & Marketing (ATMI), an arm of French oil major TotalEnergies, exported 2 cargoes of 560,000 barrels each, the data showed.

Oh, and, “Cargoes of SPR crude were also headed to the Netherlands and to a Reliance refinery in India, an industry source said. A third cargo headed to China, another source said.”

China.

China!

We’re sending our oil to the country that sent us the coronavirus!

Why?

Why would Biden do something like this?

Why would Biden okay this when 1) this oil is about protecting America’s national security, and 2) this oil can help bring down American gas prices?

The asking of the question gives you the answer. The answer is right there in the words “America” and “Americans.”

Joe Biden and the Democrats hate America and Americans. They see us as the problem. You see, we drive cars and live in big houses. So do they, but they see themselves as the elite, as overseers, and our overseers don’t want the rest of us to be comfortable or independent. They want us needy and dependent because that’s where they derive their fascist power from.

‘F*** That’ — Boris Johnson Refuses to Step Down as Resignations Continue

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has reportedly vowed to continue to fight for his political life and attempt to cling on to the keys of Number 10 Downing Street after two high-profile resignations from his cabinet and a string of junior ministers quitting their posts have rocked confidence in his ability to hold onto power.

In dramatic Westminster fashion, Health Secretary Sajid Javid and Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak resigned within minutes of each other on Tuesday evening following the admission from Boris Johnson that he was aware of historic sex pest allegations made against Christopher Pincher MP and despite this, still elevated him to become his deputy chief whip.

When pressed on whether the resignations of Javid and Sunak would precipitate his own departure from government, Mr Johnson told an aid on Tuesday evening: “F*** that”, Britain’s paper of record, The Times of London reported.

Continuing into the morning, a series of junior government ministers and other officials have also resigned, including Parliamentary private secretaries Jonathan Gullis, Saqib Bhatti, Nicola Richards, Virginia Crosbie, Laura Trott, Tory Party vice-chairman Bim Afolami, and trade envoys to Morrocco and Kenya, Andrew Murrison and Theodora Clarke.

Three ministers have also tendered their resignations, including Solicitor General Alex Chalk, and education ministers Robin Walker and Will Quince. Economic Secretary to the Treasury, the sixth-most senior ministerial post in the Treasury, MP John Glen also quit his governmental post on Wednesday morning, saying that the “country deserves better” than the “poor judgement” shown by Mr Johnson.

Announcing his departure from the government on Wednesday morning, Mr Quince said that he felt it necessary to resign after spreading false narratives surrounding Johnson’s knowledge of the accusations against Pincher fed to him from Downing Street.

Quince said that he had been given a “categorical assurance” that the PM was not aware of such allegations, yet, on the following day this was reversed with Number 10 claiming that the PM had “forgot” being briefed and Johnson apologising for promoting Pincher.

IMF: “In 10 years, one out of every two individuals entering into the global labour force will come from sub-Saharan Africa.”

The international community would be “playing with fire” if it failed to help Africa recover from Covid and the impact of the Ukraine war, the International Monetary Fund’s director for the continent has said.

Failure to invest and support the continent was shortsighted and detrimental to the global economy, as half of the new entrants into the global workforce over the next decade would come from sub-Saharan Africa, Abebe Aemro Selassie, director of the IMF’s Africa department, told the Guardian.

“In 10 years, one out of every two individuals entering into the global labour force will come from sub-Saharan Africa – the very children whose education the pandemic has disrupted,” he said.

“The human capital we need to motor the global economy is not getting the attention it needs. It’s a massive collective failure,” he added.

“Almost certainly – unless we think robots are going to take care of everything – there is going to be a shortage of labour in most advanced economies, and even elsewhere.

Biden Admin Strikes $3.2B Deal with Pfizer to Include Unapproved Covid Shots

Absent regulatory approval, the Biden administration struck a $3.2 billion deal last week with Pfizer and its partner BioNTech for 105 million doses of experimental genetic therapeutics for Covid (aka “vaccine”), which could be delivered as soon as later this summer and continue into the fourth quarter of the year.

According to the June 29 announcement on Pfizer’s website, the doses will come in 3, 10, and 30 milligrams, which suggests that they will cover all “eligible” demographics for the shot, including toddlers as young as six-month-old. The shipment will likely include the adult dose, which will be designed to tackle the Omicron strain of Covid.

Reportedly, the average price per dose in the new deal has increased from the $19.50 per dose the government paid in its initial contract with Pfizer, and reached more than $30.47 per dose.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pfizer Albert Bourla said that the shots “may provide protection against current and future variants,” adding that “Vaccines have been and will remain critical to protecting people of all ages against COVID-19.”

That is certainly not the case. Since the very beginning of the pandemic, it has become clear that the virus poses a real threat to the very elderly and those with frail health. Even the advent of the new Covid strains that evolved to be more transmittable did not make the virus more deadly see here and here). Finally, the availability of truly safe and effective Covid early treatments such as hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin reduces the risks of severe Covid outcomes to a minimum.

Bourla also praised “the ongoing impact of vaccination efforts in the U.S. and around the world,” even though the high vaccination coverage around the world is associated with higher Covid rates.

The administration has the option to purchase up to 195 million additional doses, bringing the total number of potential doses to 300 million.

The shots were acquired by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in collaboration with the Department of Defense.

Police Were Told In 2019 That Parade Shooter Vowed To ‘Kill Everyone,’ Did Not Arrest Him

Authorities revealed Tuesday afternoon that the suspect who allegedly shot dozens of people at a parade on Monday had a history of run-ins with law enforcement officials.

Lake County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Christopher Covelli disclosed the information at a press conference after the 21-year-old dressed in drag and killed seven people and wounded more than a dozen others at a parade in Highland Park, Illinois.

The Daily Wire is not naming the suspect due to company policy about not giving notoriety to mass killers because studies suggest that the media’s coverage of mass shootings sparks more mass shootings.

“I’m going to relay some information from two prior instances that occurred here in Highland Park,” Covelli said. “The first was in April of 2019. An individual contacted Highland Park Police Department a week after learning of [the suspect] attempting suicide. This was a delayed report, so Highland Park still responded to the residence a week later, spoke with [the suspect], spoke with [the suspect’s] parents, and the matter was being handled by mental health professionals at that time, there was no law enforcement action to be taken. It was a mental health issue and handled by those professionals.”

“The second occurred in September of 2019,” Covelli continued. “A family member reported that [the suspect] said he was going to kill everyone and [the suspect] had a collection of knives. The police responded to his residence, the police removed 16 knives, a dagger, and a sword from [the suspect’s] home. At that time, there was no probable cause to arrest, there were no complaints that were signed by any of the victims. The Highland Park Police Department, however, did immediately notify the Illinois State Police of the incident.”

One of the suspect’s neighbors said that there were signs “for a long time” that something would happen. “There were always police cars at the house. The parents were arguing, fighting all the time.”

Jeremy Cahnmann, who ran an after-school sports program that the suspect attended, said that the suspect’s parents were a problem.

“I remember the parents more than him because they were kind of a problem,” he said. “There wasn’t a lot of love in that family.”

“[The suspect’s mother] got into it once with one of the heads of the program, she was yelling,” he recalled. “It seemed like her kids were a nuisance to her.”

A previous version of this article said the suspect is 22-years-old. He is 21-years-old.

Prozac maker paid millions to secure favorable verdict in mass shooting lawsuit, victims say

The drugmaker that produces Prozac, the antidepressant that Joseph Wesbecker’s victims blamed for his deadly shooting rampage 30 years ago at Standard Gravure, secretly paid the victims $20 million to help ensure a verdict exonerating the drug company.

Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly vigorously shielded the payment for more than two decades, defying a Louisville judge who fought to reveal it because he said it swayed the jury's verdict.

Wesbecker began taking Prozac about a month before his murderous spree that killed eight and wounded 12 in the print shop attached to the Courier Journal. All but one of the victims sued Eli Lilly, the company that manufactured the popular but controversial drug.

On Sept. 14, 1989, Wesbecker, a pressman who had been placed on long-term disability leave for severe mental illness, entered Standard Gravure around 8:30 a.m., carrying a bag full of weapons, including a semiautomatic rifle.

Over the next 30 minutes, Wesbecker walked through the building, firing more than 40 rounds at those he encountered before shooting himself in the head with a handgun. It is the worst mass shooting in Kentucky's history.

In 1994, a fiercely litigated, 11-week trial took place in Louisville in which Wesbecker's victims and their families said the Prozac he took helped incite his murderous rampage.

On the eve of the jury's verdict, which absolved Lilly of liability, the company made the secret payment without telling the judge overseeing the case.

In exchange for the payment, the plaintiffs – eight estates and 11 survivors – agreed to withhold damaging evidence about the arthritis drug Oraflex that Lilly withdrew from the market. Lilly pleaded guilty to 25 criminal misdemeanor counts for failing to report adverse reactions that patients suffered from the drug, and the drug company feared that the Prozac jury would be more inclined to rule against the drugmaker if it learned of it.

The plaintiffs agreed that if the jury found Lilly liable, they would not seek damages, nor would they appeal the verdict if they lost.

President of Brazil Says He Regrets Removing Liability From Pharmaceutical Companies for Vaccine Side-Effects and is “Sorry for All the Deaths”

In an interview with Tucker Carlson, Brazilian President Jair Bolsanaro explains why he didn’t take the Covid vaccine and his regret of passing legislation to protect pharmaceutical companies from liability for the side-effects of their experimental vaccines. There follows a transcript of the interview.

Why didn’t you take the vaccine?

When the virus actually hit strongly in March 2020, people began to seek out the vaccine, of course, against the virus. And I too, of course, sought that medication because we began to see cases surfacing, started seeing the number of cases begin to go up.

Now someone who contracts the virus like I did, I mean, the vaccine doesn’t really help. I mean, you don’t take a vaccine if you have already been contaminated. The vaccine would be innocuous. You should rather take the medication. And in Brazil, of course, I studied the issue. I called other countries including in Sub-Saharan Africa and Brazilian doctors and physicians, because there were people out there who either did not catch the virus or when they did catch the virus the virus was not strong enough to send them to the hospital or to kill them.

And in Brazil we saw the emergence of two medications that began to be used more widely. I myself took them when contaminated.

But the global pressure all over the world from the media outlets, from the pharmaceutical companies, I mean, they were all against the early treatment, they actually focused on the vaccine.

I read Pfizer’s contract and one of the clauses said: “We shall take no responsibility whatsoever for any side-effect arising from the vaccine.”

I became concerned about that.

And Congress in Brazil decided to vote and pass a piece of legislation saying that Pfizer or any other pharmaceutical company would not take responsibility for any side-effect arising from the vaccine.

We also had information, including from the U.S. FDA, that several side-effects are likely to emerge this year or next year, in the foreseeable future.

So, the concern as mentioned by many doctors was that people who were infected by the virus were already immune and did not have to take the vaccine. That was my case, and that’s why I did not take the vaccine.

But I did purchase vaccines for all Brazilians.

I did not demand that people be vaccinated. I respected individual freedom. Each one was free to vaccinate or not.

And I believe that about 20% of the Brazilian population decided not to take the vaccine.

As I said before, maybe I was the only Head of State in the world who did not accept restrictive measures or was against restrictive measures and perhaps one of the few Heads of State in the world who did not take the vaccine because I had already contracted the virus.

The Left was so worried about taking me out of office that they wanted me to take the vaccine. And I said, well, let me die, just let me die then, and choose my policy.

In South America we are the one country that best addressed the issue involving the need for vaccines.

Hacker puts 1 billion Chinese citizens’ leaked personal data up for sale

Analysts say the reports are likely true, and the timing of their release 'is no accident.'

A hacker has claimed to be selling the personal data of 1 billion Chinese nationals leaked from a Shanghai police database, according to a post by user "ChinaDan" on the hacker forum Breach Forums that was widely shared on Telegram.

If the claim is true, the data leak would be one of the biggest in history, Reuters cited tech experts as saying.

"In 2022, the Shanghai National Police (SHGA) database was leaked. This database contains many TB of data and information on Billions of Chinese citizen," the post said.

"Databases contain information on 1 Billion Chinese national residents and several billion case records, including: name, address, birthplace, national ID number, mobile number, all crime/case details."

The post had sparked widespread discussion on China's tightly controlled social media platforms, and censors had blocked the hashtag #dataleak from Weibo by Sunday afternoon, the agency said.

The data breach was also referenced by rights activist Fu Xianyi on Twitter, who said the leak was from the "Shanghai public security database," meaning the police.

Cryptocurrency business founder Zhao Changpeng also referred to a data leak involving one billion people's personal details in an Asian country being up for sale on the dark web.

An online security expert who gave only the surname Chang said he believed the reports were genuine, as he had known of the database's vulnerability before the report emerged.

"The information coming out now is true," Chang said.

"There is a high probability that it was leaked last year but is only now being sold," he told RFA. "The Shanghai authorities are investigating Gong Daoan, a police chief who was fired last year, so perhaps it's related."

"Most likely it was leaked from Alibaba Cloud."
