I could be totally off base, but this sounds like he knew there'd eventually be a sham committee (or even a fair one) in which this person (the "lawyer") would eventually have to give "testimony" at – revealing the inner secrets of foreign policy or other important matters.

Sounds to me that PDJT avoided having those sorts of conversations with certain individuals knowing they'd eventually get put on the chopping block in a kangaroo show trial.

I experienced that here, actually. That's not as to say I didn't have lots of people engage in some really good conversation and demonstrate the capability of selfless giving and compassion over the decades. But encountering Truth, real Truth, is perhaps the most rare form of interaction in the human experience (at least from where I came from). Glad to see even the most hardened perspective can be whittled away at by patient, compassionate Love from those dedicated to the importance of understanding and providing a path to reconstituting the human condition.
