Back on June 18, 2021, The Gateway Pundit was the first national news website to post on the mysterious Ray Epps and his bizarre antics caught on video in Washington DC on January 5th and 6th.

On the eve of the January 6th protests, a middle-aged man in a MAGA hat showed up, defended Antifa, and told the crowd they needed to “go into the Capitol” on Jan. 6. The man made the demands while standing next to Antifa organizer John Sullivan.

This was the night before the Trump rally of a million patriots. This was the day before VP Mike Pence stabbed President Trump in the back and approved the fraudulent 2020 election results.

The Gateway Pundit identified the man as Ray Epps from Arizona.

Epps did an interview with reporters the night of January 5th after urging the crowd to enter the US Capitol the next day.

Epps was later filmed hurling a massive Trump sign at the Capitol Police during the rioting he was promoting. But Epps was never arrested.

Epps was also one of the first protesters to charge past the barricades in Washington DC.

On January 11, 2022 Senator Ted Cruz confronted FBI National Security Branch Executive Assistant Director Jill Sanborn over the law enforcement agency’s involvement on January 6th in a tense exchange during Tuesday’s Senate Hearings.

Cruz asked the FBI director several straightforward questions like ‘how many FBI agents or informants actively participated in Jan 6th? And is notorious 1/6 catalyst ‘Ray Epps a fed?’

But Cruz was unable to get any real answers from Sanborn during her sworn testimony; the only thing she was able to respond with to the majority of his questions was ‘I can’t answer that.’

Following the testimony, a concerned citizen, “FoiaFan”, FOIA requested the FBI with information on Ray Epps later that day.

The farmers are outraged over new government regulations that force them to reduce their nitrogen fertilizer compounds and limit their number of livestock. The farmers argue that these policies will bankrupt their family business.

Reductions are necessary in emissions of nitrogen oxides from farm animal manure and from the use of ammonia in fertilizer, the government says, estimating a 30% reduction in the number of livestock is needed.

High-intensity farming of cows, pigs and other animals has made the Netherlands Europe’s leading emitter of the substances. Construction and traffic also contribute.

Dutch and European courts have ordered the Dutch government to address the problem. Farmers say they have been unfairly singled out and have criticised the government’s approach.

Traffic jams were reported on the highways.

In the Netherlands, the supermarkets are starting to run out of food on their shelves.

Elon Musk Queries Journalist Over Allegations Of Govt-Driven Censorship On Twitter

Elon Musk has called on an independent journalist to provide information on how the U.S. government is allegedly pressuring Twitter to suspend the journalist’s account for posting anti-vaccination content.

Musk asked Substack writer, Alex Berenson, in a July 6 post on Twitter, about Berenson’s allegation that the U.S. government had pressured Twitter to censor him for posting his opinion questioning the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines.

“Can you say more about this: ‘… pressures that the government may have placed on Twitter …’,” Musk said, referencing Berenson’s blog post about being suspended by Twitter.

“I wish I could,” Berenson said minutes later, responding to Musk, “but the settlement with [Twitter] prevents me from doing so. However, in the near future I hope and expect to have more to report.”

Berenson’s Twitter account was reinstated on July 6 after the social media platform “permanently” banned him over purportedly violating its COVID “misinformation” policy. This follows Berenson filing a lawsuit against Twitter in April.

In a blog post published July 6, Berenson elaborated that despite his inability to discuss his case now, he will be able to disclose further “in the near future.”

“You know what it took Twitter to admit it shouldn’t have done what it did? You do not, and I can’t tell you, because the statement is all I can say about the settlement,” Berenson wrote.

“The settlement does not end my investigation into the pressures that the government may have placed on Twitter to suspend my account. I will have more to say on that issue in the near future,” he wrote.

“I made a promise to readers last month, and I take my promises to readers seriously.”

Autism rates in children and teens skyrocket, up 52% in just three years

The number of children and adolescents with a diagnosis somewhere along the autism spectrum continues to rise.

According to the latest research out of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University in China, as of 2020, one out of every 30 kids is now considered autistic, a 52% jump from 2017.

Though data from the CDC puts the number closer to one in 44, the numbers are still rising, prompting many medical professionals, teachers, and parents to try to discover the cause.

Thursday on Twitter, BlazeTV host Steve Deace posited the question, "What’s the benign, innocent explanation for this [rise in autism]?"

The answer seems to be consistent from experts across various fields: changes in diagnosis and understanding of autism.

Back in 2015, Annette Estes, director of the University of Washington's Autism Center in Seattle, said, "People who are in the field are generally in consensus that the majority of the increase is due to progress in our ability to diagnose and identify people with autism in a broader spectrum than used to be possible."

For example, some behaviors once diagnosed as an intellectual disability are now considered manifestations of autism.

PBS also cautioned in 2018 that though statistical increases like 52% sound daunting, they often represent a very small fraction of an increase — in some cases, less than a quarter of a percentage point —when placed within the context of the population as a whole.

Still, if more American children now suffer from some degree of autism spectrum disorder, then it seems worthwhile to consider other statistical correlations that may give worried parents and teachers a better understanding of the biological and environmental factors that may coincide with autism.

For example, boys are significantly more likely to be diagnosed with ASD than girls are. Though the CDC claimed that 3.49% of all children in 2020 had ASD, 4.64% of boys were considered autistic compared to just 1.56% of girls.

Socioeconomic status may also play a role in ASD, as could race. Though white and Asian children have historically had higher rates of autism, Stuart Shapira, associate director for science at the CDC’s National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, said in 2018 that “autism prevalence among black and Hispanic children is approaching that of white children."

Court Rules Child Who Killed Her Sex Trafficker Cannot Be Charged for Murder, Paves Way for Acquittal

In Kenosha, Wisconsin, just two years prior to Kyle Rittenhouse killing two and wounding a third, another 17-year-old defended herself from her aggressor. Unlike Rittenhouse, however, Chrystul Kiser’s aggressor had been abusing her and threatening her life for over a year.

Unlike the speedy trial given to Rittenhouse, Kizer has had her fate in limbo for years and all she is accused of doing is killing her sex trafficker in 2018 after he drugged her and raped her when she was just 17-years-old.

Kizer was unable to use the self-defense argument in her case thanks to a technicality in the law. However, an appellate court recently reversed the decision and the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that Kiser may finally be acquitted.

As WaPo reports, the court, in a 4-3 ruling, settled the matter, affirming the lower court’s decision and siding with Kizer.

“We hold that [the law] is a complete defense to a charge of first-degree intentional homicide,” wrote Justice Rebecca Frank Dallet.

Now, after stalling for years, Kizer’s case can finally continue and she can prove to the court that she acted in self-defense.

In June of 2018, Kiser, was just 17-years-old when she fatally shot Randall Volar and burned his house down. A year earlier, when she was 16, she met the pedophile sex trafficker who immediately began advertising the young black girl on Backpage. Since then, the website has been shuttered for doing just that, selling young girls for sex on the internet. Backpage was closed down by the feds shortly after Kizer was being sold on the platform.

Kenosha County District Attorney Michael Graveley had a chance to protect Chrystul Kizer from her sex trafficker but he failed. Instead, he blamed the victim.

Graveley, who could have put Volar away for the rest of his natural life, rid Kenosha of a known child sex trafficker, and keep his town safe, allowed Volar to walk free without posting one red cent for bail. We at TFTP know Graveley as the DA who refuses to reopen the investigation into Michael Bell, Jr., a Kenosha young man who was killed by cops in his own driveway.

Graveley also refused to prosecute the cop who shot Jacob Blake as well.

Four months before his death, police arrested Volar on charges that included child sexual assault, but they then let him go without bail, according to The Washington Post. During the course of their investigation, police found “hundreds” of child pornography videos, and more than 20 “home videos” of Volar with underage black girls, according to files given to Kizer’s family and reviewed by the Washington Post.

Facebook shared deleted user data with cops, fired worker who raised alarms: lawsuit

Facebook employees were able to access deleted user data and share details with law enforcement agencies, according to allegations included in an explosive lawsuit filed by an ex-employee who said he was ousted for raising concerns about the practice.

Brennan Lawson, a former member of Facebook’s global escalations team, said he became concerned after learning in 2018 about a new tool that allowed content screeners to view data from the social media firm’s Messenger app — even if the user had deleted it.

The lawsuit alleges that the protocol allowed workers “to circumvent Facebook’s normal privacy protocols” in a way that the platform’s users were not aware was possible. The tool was reportedly employed to assist law enforcement officials during investigations into social media activity.

“Law enforcement would ask questions about the suspect’s use of the platform, such as who the suspect was messaging, when messages were sent, and even what those messages contained,” Lawson claims in the suit, according to Bloomberg.

“To keep Facebook in the good graces of the government, the Escalations Team would utilize the back-end protocol to provide answers for the law enforcement agency and then determine how much to share,” Lawson adds.

Lawson said he was fired in July 2019 shortly after he questioned the practice’s legality. Facebook officials accused him at the time of improperly using a Facebook administrative tool, according to Bloomberg.

Filed in California state court, the lawsuit alleges that Facebook’s ability to access deleted data violated European user privacy regulations as well as Federal Trade Commission requirements that Meta accurately state its policies to users.

When reached for comment, Meta pushed back on the lawsuit’s claims.

“These claims are without merit and we will defend ourselves against them vigorously,” a Meta spokesperson said in a statement.

A current job posting on Meta’s career board says members of its escalations team are responsible for “managing escalations surrounding Facebook’s policies and procedures, complex global legal issues and the dynamic landscape of free expression on the Internet.”

Meta has faced widespread scrutiny over its data privacy practices in recent years. In February, Meta warned that Facebook and Instagram could shut down in Europe unless it reached a data transfer agreement with European regulators.

The lawsuit is the latest headache for Meta, which is scrambling to correct its course despite signs of slowing revenue and user growth.

Journalists Tow Camper Behind Electric Truck, End in Stunning Failure When They Only Make it 85 Miles

Maybe you’ve seen the bumper sticker on a truck that says “Yes, this is my pickup. No, I won’t help you move.”

If you have an electric pickup, you may want to think about reversing the idea of that bumper sticker. Because helping someone make a short-distance local move may be about all you can do.

That’s an exaggeration, of course, but not by much. Because if you want to tow a trailer or a boat, your destination had better be close; otherwise you’ll be making frequent stops to recharge your battery system.

YouTube publisher Fast Lane Truck did a comparison between an electric and a gas-powered pickup to determine how far each could tow a 3-ton box trailer.

The contestants were an electrified Ford F150 pickup vs. a GMC Denali Ultimate Edition with a 6.2-liter V-8 gas engine.

Each towed an identical new “toy hauler” trailer about 25 feet in length that, while empty, was large enough to transport an entirely-sheltered automobile.

The vehicles began their test in Longmont, Colorado, heading southbound on Interstate 25 toward Denver, about 33 miles away.

The F150 charged up and the GMC filled up before taking to the road. The electric truck’s computer estimated 160 miles of range, which included calculating for the size and weight of the trailer. The gas-powered GMC’s computer, also taking the trailer into account, estimated 264 miles of range.

Off they went, with the goal of the F150 getting 147 miles down the road to a fast-charging station in Pueblo, Colorado.

But that estimate was optimistic. The electric truck had only traveled 6 miles when the computer recalculated range from 160 to 150 miles, cutting things very close if it was to reach Pueblo. That called for a change of plans — the new charging stop was Colorado Springs, about 45 miles closer.

After going 50 miles, the electric truck recalculated its range to indicate it couldn’t even make Colorado Springs. South of Denver, the truck was down to a 20 percent battery charge and, concerned about being stranded with a dead battery, the driver had to turn around and drive the F150 back north to the Denver exurb of Castle Rock to find a fast charger.

With low battery warnings blazing, and power automatically reduced to 90 percent, the electric truck, with 9 percent left on its battery, hobbled into a Target parking lot in Castle Rock.

But that caused another problem. Battery chargers tend to be lined in rows on the edge of parking lots. Because they do not provide a drive-through like a traditional gas pump, they cannot accommodate a vehicle with a trailer.

As a result, the F150 test vehicle and trailer were blocking a major portion of Target’s parking lot. “They’re probably not going to sponsor us in the future,” quipped one of the test participants.

The gas truck? Its computer showed 129 miles of remaining range, so that driver had enough range to return to their starting point in Longmont.

Then came an analysis of costs, which favored the electric vehicle.

59 British politicians resign; Boris Johnson announces resignation

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced his resignation on Thursday as 59 members of Parliament resigned in protest. Johnson will continue to serve until a new leader is selected to replace him.

“It is clearly now the will of the parliamentary Conservative Party that there should be a new leader… and therefore a new prime minister,” Johnson said publicly on Thursday.

“The herd instinct is powerful and when the herd moves, it moves,” he added of the mass resignations.

Johnson’s resignation comes amid a wave of scandals, with the latest being the appointment of Conservative MP Chris Pincher – who later resigned – despite sexual misconduct allegations that Johnson said he “forgot” about. Johnson also faced backlash for illegally attending numerous social gatherings during strict COVID-19 lockdowns.

His approval rating in late June was a dismal 26 percent. A YouGov poll in June found that 3 in 4 British citizens considered Johnson untrustworthy. Another YouGov poll this week found that 69 percent of British citizens thought Johnson should resign.

Johnson had resisted calls for his resignation as recent as Wednesday. He said he was resistant because he “felt it was my job, my duty, my obligation to you to continue to do what we promised in 2019.”

So many government ministers had resigned by Wednesday that nearly half the government was unstaffed.

Savid Javid, who resigned as health secretary on Wednesday, said during his resignation speech that “Treading a tightrope between loyalty and integrity has become impossible in recent months. Now this week, again, we have reason to question the truth and integrity of what we’ve all been told. And at some point, we have to conclude that enough is enough.”

During an intense grilling by Parliament members in a House of Commons meeting on Wednesday, Johnson was criticized and urged to step down.

Johnson had served since 2019 when he led the Conservative Party to victory – its biggest in decades. He vowed to finally separate Britain from the EU, a move that his predecessor Theresa May had failed to do.

Johnson had reportedly planned to continue serving as prime minister until October, but was pressed to announce his resignation immediately.

An election for a new Conservative Party leader will need to take place, in which candidates secure the support of at least eight Conservative members to qualify, the BBC explained. Some of Johnson’s critics have urged him to leave office before a successor is chosen

British Airways Cuts 10,300 More Flights Through Summer

It will be a messy time for flying around Europe as British Airways announced it would cut another 10,300 short-haul flights through the end of the summer. The latest round of cuts means the airline has slashed 27,900 flights due to post-pandemic staff shortages.

The Independent broke the story on Wednesday afternoon and added to the 17,600 cancellations the flagship airline carrier of the UK made at the end of June.

“British Airways has now taken 4.5 million seats out of the market. The latest round was announced ahead of a Friday deadline for airlines to cancel flights this season without losing slots next summer,” the British online newspaper noted.

Most of the flight cancellations will be centered around Heathrow Airport, a major international airport in London, England. But also expect cancellations at Gatwick and London City airport.

A British Airways spokesperson told The Independent that trimming thousand of flights from its schedule will mean the airline will be more flexible and minimize delays and cancelations this summer.

“The whole aviation industry continues to face into significant challenges and we’re completely focussed on building resilience into our operation to give customers the certainty they deserve.

“The government recently decided to give the whole industry slot alleviation to minimize potential disruption this summer. While taking further action is not where we wanted to be, it’s the right thing to do for our customers and our colleagues.

“This new flexibility means that we can further reduce our schedule and consolidate some of our quieter services so that we can protect as many of our holiday flights as possible.

“While most of our flights are unaffected and the majority of customers will get away as planned, we don’t underestimate the impact this will have and we’re doing everything we can to get their travel plans back on track.

“We’re in touch to apologize and offer rebooking options for new flights with us or another airline as soon as possible or issue a full refund.”

US charges two Homeland Security workers in Chinese spying scheme

A grand jury returned an indictment charging the two men and three others with crimes committed while acting as alleged Chinese agents, the department said in a statement.

US prosecutors charged two men tied to the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as part of what federal law enforcement officials have called a "transnational repression scheme" on behalf of the Chinese government to spy on and harass dissidents living in the United States.

The two charged were Craig Miller, who has worked as a DHS deportation officer for 15 years in Minnesota, and Derrick Taylor, a retired DHS law enforcement agent now working as a private investigator in California, the US Department of Justice said on Thursday.

On Wednesday, a grand jury returned an indictment charging the two men and three others with crimes committed while acting as alleged Chinese agents, the department said in a statement.

“We will defend the rights of people in the United States to engage in free speech and political expression,” said Assistant Attorney General for National Security Matthew Olsen.

"These individuals aided agents of a foreign government in seeking to suppress dissenting voices who have taken refuge here,” he added.

The charges include obstruction of justice for allegedly destroying evidence after FBI agents asked about use of a law enforcement database with information on US-based Chinese dissidents.

Ukrainian Nazis Kill Children With Cluster Munitions

Over the past two days, 5 children have been killed by Ukrainian shelling in the Donbass. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are intentionally shelling residential areas. As a result, number of civilian casualties is growing every day. Residents of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics have been suffering from the terrorist war of the Kiev regime for eight years.

On July 6, 7 civilians were killed in the Donetsk People’s Republic, including three children. 28 civilians were injured, including 8 children.

On July 6, the AFU shelled the residential quarter in the town of Makeevka with the Hurricane MLRS. As a result of the attack, three children and a man were killed. The victims are an 8-years-old girl, a 7-years old boy and a 17-years-old boy. 10 others civilians were injured, including 7 children.

The military experts of the JCCC of the DPR confirmed the shelling of the Central City district of Makeyevka with the use of BM-27 “Hurricane” MLRS with a 9M27K cluster warhead. The AFU fired at the densely populated area of Makeyevka from their positions located near the locality of Solovyovo.

NPR Goes Full Groomer, Promotes ‘Queer’ Sex Education

On Independence Day, taxpayer-funded National Public Radio (NPR) broadcasted a segment about “queer” sex education, which, among other things, denounced the “terrible lie” that STDs make one “dirty.”

The segment, titled, “The importance of inclusion in sex education,” was part of NPR’s Life Kit series and was connected to Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law.

“More than a dozen states have proposed similar bills,” the NPR host said. “This could affect what students are taught in sex education. For NPR’s Life Kit, Lilly Quiroz explains the basics of queer sex education.”

Quiroz interviewed a so-called “sexuality educator” named Milena Gioconda Davis.

“One of the awesome opportunities about being a queer person is that we may not be as entrenched in some of the gender narratives and roles that can be kind of prescriptive around sexuality,” Davis said. “So I think it can be a really amazing opportunity for us to explore our sexuality outside of those norms and patterns.”

And, you know, groom kids.

You know, I’m old enough to remember when the biggest issue with NPR was that it had a liberal slant in its reporting despite being a taxpayer-funded organization. Now, it’s promoting “queer” sex education and advocating the grooming of children. In addition to promoting “queer” sex and masturbation, Davis sought to downplay the dangers of sexually transmitted diseases.

“I think the biggest thing is that STIs make you dirty, which is just a terrible lie,” Davis said. “And also, I think the other one is, like, if you get an STI, your sex life is over. Like, no – most STIs are curable or treatable, and it doesn’t have to be, like, this mark of shame.”

Ghislaine Maxwell Appeals Verdict, Sentence in Sex Trafficking Case

Ghislaine Maxwell, who was sentenced last week to 20 years in prison for engaging in a sex-trafficking scheme with former boyfriend Jeffrey Epstein, is appealing her conviction.

Her lawyer, Bobbi Sternheim, on Thursday filed a notice of appeal in federal court in Manhattan. Maxwell, 60, was found guilty in December of luring underage girls into Epstein’s orbit for sexual abuse and sometimes participating in the abuse herself. US Circuit Judge Alison Nathan sentenced her on June 28, calling her conduct “heinous and predatory.”

Maxwell has not yet submitted a brief laying out her appellate arguments, but she has previously argued for dismissal of charges against her on the grounds that some of her victims were of legal age in certain locations where sexual encounters took place. She also sought to overturn her conviction because one of her jurors failed to disclose that he had previously been a victim of sexual abuse.

Nathan rejected those arguments, but Maxwell is likely to make them again on appeal. Maxwell has long maintained that she was prosecuted as a scapegoat for Epstein, who was found dead in his jail cell in Aug. 2019 after he was arrested on sex-trafficking charges a month earlier.

Maxwell is currently being held in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, but Nathan recommended that she serve her sentence at the low-security federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut.

Last year, Dr. Jessica Rose did a comprehensive analysis to determine the “under-reported factor” in VAERS, and came up with 41X, meaning that the recorded data for adverse reactions to COVID-19 vaccines in VAERS had to be multiplied by 41 to get more accurate numbers. See:

However, now that more time has elapsed since this study was performed, many feel that 41X is significantly too low, and should be closer to 100X, which is the number that was previously used based on a 2011 report by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Inc. for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Although 25% of ambulatory patients experience an adverse drug event, less than 0.3% of all adverse drug events and 1-13% of serious events are reported to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Likewise, fewer than 1% of vaccine adverse events are reported. Low reporting rates preclude or slow the identification of “problem” drugs and vaccines that endanger public health. New surveillance methods for drug and vaccine adverse effects are needed. (Source.)

Good Government Groups Ask State Officials To Stop Biden’s Federal Takeover Of Elections

Governors and other state officials don’t have to stand idly by as the Biden administration plots a federal takeover of elections. That’s the message being sent by the heads of two good government groups in a new memo to state officials.

“The Biden administration wants to use federal government resources for political, get-out-the-vote purposes, and it’s up to strong leaders in state and local government to stop them,” wrote Russ Vought of the Center for Renewing America and Tarren Bragdon of the Foundation for Government Accountability. “We strongly urge those in positions of power to stop President Biden’s power grab and act soon.”

Biden issued an executive order on March 7, 2021, directing all 600 federal agencies to submit a plan to the White House to increase voter registration and turnout. Many agencies subsequently developed a plan to turn federal facilities, particularly those that deliver federal benefits, into voter registration agencies.

For example, Housing and Urban Development is trying to turn assisted housing centers into get-out-the-vote hubs. Health and Human Services is doing the same with its public health centers. Even as labor problems are out of control, the Department of Labor is turning its American Job Centers into voter registration agencies.

The agencies are allowed to work with voting groups approved by left-wing partisans in the White House, reminiscent of the Zuckerbucks plot to destabilize the 2020 election by running get-out-the-vote operations in the Democrat areas of swing states.

It’s a “backdoor approach that’s designed to ensure Democratic victories at the polls in 2022 and beyond,” Vought and Bragdon wrote.

The two recommend that state officials take action to prevent Biden’s plot. Since the National Voting Rights Act provides states the authority to designate voter registration agencies beyond those already required by federal law, the federal government cannot designate additional agencies without a change to federal law enacted by Congress.

So when federal agencies send “guidance” memorandums to state agencies about turning federal benefit centers into voter registration agencies, Vought and Bragdon recommend state officials contact those agencies and “order them not to implement that guidance because it is illegal at worst and unethical and partisan at best.”

Further, they remind states that they can issue a gubernatorial executive order or the legislature can pass a law or resolution prohibiting state agencies from applying to become voter registration agencies.

“With increasing brazenness, President Biden is taking advantage of a loyal federal bureaucracy to wield the power and influence of the federal government to influence elections by increasing Democratic voter registration and turnout,” write Bragdon and Vought. They say the actions are particularly troubling given recent lawsuits filed by the Department of Justice against conservative efforts to fortify election integrity and make it more difficult to cheat.

Mexico announces 'historic' fentanyl bust, seizing over a half-ton of deadly drug from warehouse

Mexican authorities carried out a "historic" drug bust this week, seizing more than a half-ton of fentanyl from a warehouse in the northern city of Culiacan, officials said.

The Mexican Army and National Guard announced Thursday that on July 2, law enforcement located a property that had been used by criminals to smuggle drugs and had arrested 10 individuals found there. Authorities discovered an incredible 542.72 kilograms (1196.49 lbs) of fentanyl valued at nearly $230 million, the Associated Press reports.

"This is the largest seizure in history of this lethal drug," said Assistant Public Safety Secretary Ricardo Mejia.

Fentanyl is a deadly synthetic opioid that was responsible for more than 70,000 overdose deaths in the U.S. last year. It is 100 times more potent than morphine; just two milligrams of fentanyl can be enough to kill a person.

Drug smugglers south of the U.S.-Mexico border disguise fentanyl as counterfeit pills for common medications like Xanax, Adderall, or oxycodone. The opioid is commonly laced with other drugs into deadly cocktails that have led thousands to accidentally overdose.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration believes China is providing the source materials for fentanyl, which is manufactured in Mexico and then smuggled into the U.S. through the southern border.

Mexico's Defense Department said the warehouse stash was discovered in Culiacan, the capital of Sinaloa state, where a violent drug cartel of the same name has its base of operations.

The July 2 raid also uncovered half-ton of meth, as well as cocaine, opium, and at least 70 tons of precursor chemicals, authorities said.

President Joe Biden's administration hopes to curb the number of fatal drug overdoses in the U.S., setting an ambitious goal for a 13 percent reduction in overdose deaths by 2025. The White House released a National Drug Control Strategy in April that seeks to address untreated addiction and go after drug traffickers.

Dr. Rahul Gupta, head of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, testified before a Senate oversight committee three weeks ago about the administration's efforts to combat fentanyl manufactured in Mexico and smuggled into the U.S. by violent cartels.
