Abbott Invokes ‘Invasion’ Powers to Return Illegal Immigrants to Mexico

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott took an unprecedented step toward mitigating the border crisis on July 7, issuing an executive order that directs state law enforcement officers to apprehend illegal immigrants and return them to Mexico at an international bridge.

“I … do hereby authorize and empower the Texas National Guard and the Texas Department of Public Safety to respond to this illegal immigration by apprehending immigrants who cross the border between ports of entry or commit other violations of federal law, and to return those illegal immigrants to the border at a port of entry,” Abbott’s executive order states.

The order comes two days after five Texas counties declared the crisis an “invasion” and urged Abbott to respond at the state level, using his constitutional powers.

Abbott states that the Biden administration “has abandoned the covenant, in Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution, that ‘[t]he United States . . . shall protect each [State in this Union] against Invasion.'”

In response, the governor can call on state military forces under Article IV, Section 7 of the Texas Constitution, as well as relevant sections of the Texas Government Code.

“President [Joe] Biden’s failure to protect our border has necessitated action by the State of Texas to ensure public safety and to defend against violations of its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Abbott stated in the order.

“The cartels have become emboldened and enriched by President Biden’s open border policies, smuggling in record numbers of people, weapons, and deadly drugs like fentanyl,” he said in an accompanying press release.

Border Patrol agents have apprehended more than 2 million illegal immigrants entering Texas from Mexico since Biden took office in January 2021, according to Customs and Border Protection data.

Along the whole southwest border during the same timeframe, agents have detected, but not captured, at least 850,000 illegal immigrants, known as “gotaways.”

“President Biden has refused to enforce the immigration laws enacted by Congress, including statutes mandating detention of certain immigrants who have claimed asylum or committed a crime,” Abbott stated in his executive order.

“President Biden’s reckless refusal to secure the border will provide material support to the cartels, allow them to smuggle more dangerous people, drugs, and weapons into Texas, and embolden cartel gunmen to continue shooting at state and federal officials.”

Last week, Kinney County Sheriff Brad Coe drove four illegal aliens to the international bridge in Eagle Pass, Texas, and released them back to Mexico after Border Patrol was unable to take them into custody.

Kinney County was one of the five counties to declare an invasion on July 5, along with Goliad, Terrell, Edwards, and Jeff Davis. Presidio County signed a similar declaration on July 7.

Kinney County Attorney Brent Smith said, prior to Abbott’s announcement, that he expected up to 25 Texas counties to declare an invasion by the end of July.

Richard Grenell Linked to Epstein-Led, CCP-Tied Humpty Dumpty Institute

Richard Grenell was closely linked to the globalist Humpty Dumpty Institute during his time working at the Bush Administration’s US Mission to the United Nations. A non-profit tied to a laundry list of uni-party establishment members, the Humpty Dumpty Institute has been led by Mark Epstein, the brother of notorious child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. The organization has close ties to the Chinese Communist Party and the Taihe Institute, a think tank that is directly led by high-ranking CCP officials.

Former Acting DNI and Ambassador to Germany during the Trump Administration, Richard Grenell has been floated by many as a potential vice presidential pick should 45th President Trump decide to run again in 2024. Openly gay, Grenell has been touted as a “diverse” choice with plenty of experience in global politics. Recently, Grenell went to Iowa to address local GOP and conservative groups, a frequent exercise for executive branch hopefuls ahead of an election year. That trip added even more fuel to the speculation that Grenell could be jockeying for the position of Trump’s 2024 running mate.

Before he was a purported member of the America First movement, Richard Grenell spent years working for the administration of President George W. Bush, serving at a high level in the US Mission to the United Nations from 2001 to 2008. During that time, Grenell worked in a number of globalist “policy making” roles related to the UN’s notorious “peacekeeping” operations as well as the Global War on Terror.

According to photographs and logs detailing the Humpty Dumpty Institute’s (HDI) relationship with the US Mission to the UN, Grenell was deeply tied to the globalist, Epstein-led non-profit during his time in the Bush Administration and appeared as a speaker at HDI’s “Staff Delegation to the United Nations” at least twice, in 2005.

In June of that year, Grenell joined a group of “senior US diplomats, high-level UN officials, and spokesmen from a number of UN agencies and departments,” to address HDI’s 15th Staff Delegation to the United Nations. According to an HDI webpage memorializing the event, “the intent of this program was to give congressional spokesmen an opportunity to view first-hand the inner workings of the UN while providing them with a network of capable counterparts throughout the UN system.” According to the webpage profiling HDI’s delegation, Grenell addressed the group as part of a “breakfast briefing,” offering a “description of his own background and specific duties.” Grenell, the HDI’s summary goes on to explain, urged attendees to work through him while dealing with both the US Mission to the UN and the UN as a whole.

Grenell “emphasized his intermediary role between the US Congress, the US Mission, and the United Nations, and urged future dialogue through his office,” HDI’s webpage reads.

Attendees at the 15th Delegation included the staff members of several uni-party Congressmen and Senators, including Rebecca Kutler, who at the time was Press Secretary to far-left California Rep. Adam Schiff. HDI leadership was also present at the event. Also present were members of Senator John Cornyn and Rep. James Clyburn’s respective staffs.

Twitter Says 5 Percent Bot Figure is Accurate, Removes 1 Million Spam Accounts Per Day

Twitter stock rallied as much as 3 percent after executives reiterated that spam bots represent fewer than 5 percent of users.

In a conference call media brief on Thursday, Twitter officials told the press that the social network conducts manual reviews of thousands of accounts every quarter to come up with its 5 percent figure, according to Reuters. In addition, the company utilizes various components to determine the number of spam bots, such as confirming telephone numbers and IP addresses. The San Francisco-based company can verify if a human runs an account by employing these measures.

They added that the actual number of fake accounts is likely below what is disclosed in its filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Twitter executives also revealed that it suspends more than one million spam accounts daily, doubling the previous number shared by CEO Parag Agrawal in May.

“We suspend over half a million spam accounts every day, usually before any of you even see them on Twitter. We also lock millions of accounts each week that we suspect may be spam—if they can’t pass human verification challenges (captchas, phone verification, etc),” he posted in a tweet.

Director James M. Murray has announced his retirement from the Secret Service after 32 years of dedicated service to our nation, 27 of which were with the Secret Service. Director Murray has served as the agency’s chief executive since May 1, 2019. As Director, Murray contributed significantly to the agency’s continued professionalization and growth, and helped the agency navigate the unique challenges presented by the historic COVID-19 pandemic, throughout which the agency continued executing its integrated mission of providing protection to senior elected leaders and investigating crimes targeting our financial infrastructure. Since the Spring of 2019, Director Murray successfully guided the agency through eight National Special Security Events and nearly 20,000 international and domestic protective operations. During that time, the agency also recovered approximately $4.2B in fraud loss and prevented an estimated $8.1B in additional losses at the hands of criminal enterprise.

Director Murray, a native of Point Pleasant, New Jersey, began his federal service in 1990 as an investigator with the United States Department of Transportation, while concurrently serving as an Officer in the United States Army Reserve. In 1995, he joined the United States Secret Service as a special agent in the New York Field Office where he investigated cyber-enabled financial crimes and served as the agency’s liaison to the FBI-NYPD Joint Terrorism Task Force. His subsequent career assignments include assistant to the special agent in charge of the Presidential Protective Division; resident agent in charge of the Atlantic City, NJ Resident Office; special agent in charge of the agency’s James J. Rowley Training Center; and special agent in charge of the Washington Field Office.

From 2016 to 2018, he served as deputy assistant director of Protective Operations, where he coordinated agency efforts for the presidential campaigns ahead of the 2016 U.S. presidential election and presidential transition. In April 2018, Murray became the assistant director of the Office of Protective Operations and was responsible for the planning, coordination and administration of the agency’s global protective mission. On April 8, 2019, he was named 26th director of the United States Secret Service.

Over 1,500 Fugitives Wanted For ‘Most Serious, Violent’ Crimes Captured Across 10 US Cities

The U.S. Marshals Service has concluded a high-impact fugitive apprehension initiative aimed at combating violent crime in 10 cities with a significant number of homicides and shootings.

This 30-day initiative, called Operation North Star (ONS), resulted in the arrest of 1,501 fugitives, violent criminals, sex offenders, and self-identified gang members in Baltimore, Chicago, Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Memphis, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.

Operation North Star focused on fugitives wanted for the most serious, violent, and harmful offenses, including homicide, sexual assault, robbery, or aggravated assault. Operation North Star investigators prioritized their efforts to include individuals using firearms in their crimes, or who exhibited risk factors associated with violence.

“The Justice Department is committed to doing everything we can to protect our communities from violent crime and end the plague of gun violence,” said Attorney General Merrick B. Garland. “Operation North Star reflects the approach we are taking across the Department to work in partnership with law enforcement agencies and communities to identify and hold accountable those responsible for the greatest violence. I am grateful to the U.S. Marshals Service and the many federal, state, and local task force partners who carried out this operation, and who continue to work to keep the American people safe each and every day.”

Throughout the month of June, the U.S. Marshals Service used its broad arrest authority and network of task forces to arrest individuals wanted on charges, including 230 for homicide; and 131 for sexual assault. In addition, investigators seized 166 firearms, more than $53,600 in currency, and more than 33 kilograms of illegal narcotics.

“The Marshals remain committed to assisting state and local law enforcement with reducing violent crime in our most vulnerable communities,” said U.S. Marshals Service Director Ronald Davis. “Operation North Star was focused on areas where local law enforcement has seen a large number of homicides and shootings. By partnering with our local and state partners, we are able to hone in on the most dangerous criminals who cause the most harm. I am very proud to lead an agency that is always willing and ready to do the work necessary to quell the violence affecting so many of our cities.”

Space Force Launches New Intelligence Unit as Congress Voices Concerns over Growth

The Space Force has assumed command of a new unit that will be focused on keeping an eye out for foreign threats in space, but it comes as Congress is warning the small service branch that it has to prepare to slow its growth.

Delta 18 and the brand-new National Space Intelligence Center were officially commissioned late last month at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. It will be staffed by nearly 350 civilian and military personnel.

Delta 18's mission is to "deliver critical intelligence on threat systems, foreign intentions, and activities in the space domain to support national leaders, allies, partners and joint war fighters," according to a press release.
