What is a woman?
The LaLeche League has an entire library on natural childbirth
and natural child rearing
which I would recommend to all… men and women.
In one of these books, it tells the natural processes
that a pregnant woman undergoes once she becomes pregnant.
If you've ever seen how salmon change color and shape
the closer they get to their native habitat in the river,
then this might help you to understand a woman's changes.
When pregnant her body gradually becomes more flexible
in preparation for childbirth.
Her teeth may recede.
Her hormones change.
And after childbirth, her breasts become ready to nurse.
When a woman is nursing
if she hears a baby cry
her breasts automatically fill with milk.
Her breasts will leak, even in public.
This happens beyond her control.
Men don't go through such enormous fluctuations in hormones.
They don't have to eat for two people.
They don't need to worry about cleanliness.
Also, these "mother" hormones make it easier and natural
for a woman to tend to diapers and physical needs of a baby.
Men may have to really work up to the idea.
Women naturally tune in to the tones of her baby's sounds.
She can be delicate and comforting
while a man must manuever his big muscles
so that he doesn't handle a baby too clumsily.
Not saying that men aren't capable of being sensitive
just saying that women get it in spades.
