Prior to a little trip I took to the horn of Africa in the early 90's I was told that 60 to 85% of the population has Aids or was HIV positive. How the fuck are any of them still alive 20 years later? How is a continent that had almost the same population as North America in the 50's, with the historically highest infant mortality rate, everyone having Aids, mass famine somewhere constantly, droughts, Lions and Tigers and Elephants and Cobras and wars and… now have 60% more people than N. America?
