Black powder smoke. Delayed reaction by security detail. First shot apparently missed as Abe turns around to look. Distance looks to be around 30-40ft or so… Second shot hits target but it doesn't appear it would have been a direct "center of mass" shot.

Agreed. Also pretty difficult to get an accurate projectile from that distance using a black powder device…unless your an expert hobbiest and have practiced multiple times using a homemade weapon.
Pipe diameter looks like it might have been around 1-2" to 3/4". If it contained a single projectile it would have caused massive damage. Had to have been "shot"…likely ball bearings or something similar. IMO, shooter was lucky to hit Abe…surprised someone else didn't get hit.
Yes…note his hand was still in place. A high shot to the right side of the chest, away from the heart.
Other videos showed him lying down with blood on the left side of his shirt.
IMO, a shotgun slug from 30-40 feet would have been more devastating and it's affect highly visible on video. Its likely he wouldn't have had a chance to take more than a step before collapsing…
