Kinda the same thing… The early American citizens pillaged English bases all throughout the war and the Boston tea party was done with pillaged goods. The rumor in Freemasonry (the early founders of the country) is the Knights Templar fled that fateful Friday the 13th to the sea with their Navy battle standard, the skull and crossbones (huge in Freemasonry for certain reasons). From there they pillaged and burned the English navy and commercial friggates. Having recovered their losses they set forth to the legendary land of Merick where they met it's natives and celebrated the promise land.
Upon returning to the main land the knights traveled to Rosslyn, Scottland where they built the chappel, which theretofore was their base of operations. The chapel interestingly enough had figures of corn and alovera chisseled in to the rock and can still be seen to this day. Skeptics argue they are depictions of other plants because the chapel was built before the Americas were discovered and those 2 plants only grew in the Americas. Why do you think the natives were so friendly with us when we arrive? They thought it was the knights who were returning. Then they got slaughtered…. Pretty badly…. Just be thankful we have the 8th ammendment….. Thinkin' about it that's probably why the 8th amendment exists.
Backtracking a little. After the chapel was built the freemasons suddenly came about in 1716. They quickly cought the attention of every man because freemasonry was seen in many ways. A place of true equality, or a place of status/class for example. In any case, Freemasonry blossomed. So much that many of those who came over to colonize were Master Freemasons. So lets get to the final point which is this; both the Freemasons and pirates derrived from the Knights Templar… According to rumor.
For further reading, check out The Hiram Key, and Born In Blood (my favorite of the 2).
P.s. I have no idea why I wrote all that. Ya'll 'll probably just call me a Freemason and curse me 'til the end of time…. Just remember this if you do; "I've been called worse by better."
P.p.s I am a 32nd° freemason. XD
Correction. Freemasonry came about in the late 13th century
