LEFT WING GROUP OFFERS ‘BOUNTIES’ IN EXCHANGE FOR DOXXING CONSERVATIVE JUSTICES
Published: July 11, 2022
A left wing activist group is offering cash rewards to anyone who provides them with information regarding the location of conservative Supreme Court Justices.
The group ShutDownDC put out a call on Twitter offering $50 and $200 bounties for information relating to sightings of justices John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, and Amy Coney Barrett.
Despite seemingly breaking Twitter’s policy of prohibiting any user from encouraging or calling for others to harass an individual or group of people, the post remains active at time of writing:
Twitter’s policy reads, “We prohibit behavior that encourages others to harass or target specific individuals or groups with abusive behavior,” also noting “This includes, but is not limited to; calls to target people with abuse or harassment online and behavior that urges offline action such as physical harassment.”
ShutDownDC affiliated individuals were also part of a ‘protest’ at a Morton’s steakhouse in downtown Washington last week, where Brett Kavanaugh was dining and subsequently forced to exit through a back door.
The restaurant issued a statement condemning the actions, noting “Honorable Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh and all of our other patrons at the restaurant were unduly harassed by unruly protestors while eating dinner at our Morton’s restaurant.”
It added, “Politics, regardless of your side or views, should not trample the freedom at play of the right to congregate and eat dinner. There is a time and place for everything. Disturbing the dinner of all of our customers was an act of selfishness and void of decency.”
When asked about the incident, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre responded “We have said that we want to see peaceful protests,” adding “When it comes to intimidation, that is something that we have condemned.”
“[The president] has signed a piece of legislation making sure that they have the protection that they need,” Jean-Pierre continued, prompting Fox News reporter Peter Doocy to interject “But you never said, ‘Don’t go to their houses.”
“So, it’s okay if protesters know that a justice is out to eat at a restaurant that they can go and protest, as long as they are what you consider peaceful,” Doocy further questioned, asking “where’s the line?”
The Press Secretary reposed “If it’s outside of a restaurant, if it’s peaceful, for sure.”

Navy relieves sub commander in Pacific Fleet
By KELLY AGEE
STARS AND STRIPES • July 11, 2022
The Navy relieved the commander of the fast-attack submarine USS Scranton on Wednesday after eight months at the helm, according to a news release.
Cmdr. Seth Rumler was relieved by Rear Adm. Rick Seif, commander of Submarine Group 7, “due to loss of confidence in his ability to command,” according to the Navy release on Friday.
Rumler had assumed command of the Los Angeles-class submarine Nov. 6, according to a tweet on the U.S. Pacific Fleet Submarine Force’s official Twitter account.
“Navy commanding officers are held to high standards of personal and professional conduct,” according to Lt. Cmdr. Amelia Umayam, spokeswoman for the Pacific Fleet Submarine Force, in the release. “They are expected to uphold the highest standards of responsibility, reliability and leadership, and the Navy holds them accountable when they fall short of those standards.”
Cmdr. Michael McGuire, deputy commodore of Submarine Squadron 15, was named interim commanding officer, according to the Navy.
Umayam was not available for further comment Monday.

Retired general Michael Flynn cited for unauthorized foreign payments
By DAN LAMOTHE AND CRAIG WHITLOCK
THE WASHINGTON POST • July 8, 2022
WASHINGTON — Michael Flynn, the retired Army general and onetime adviser to President Donald Trump, was cited by the Defense Department inspector general for failing to disclose lucrative speaking engagements and other business arrangements with foreign entities, prompting the U.S. government to pursue tens of thousands of dollars in penalties against him, according to documents.
Investigators determined that Flynn received nearly $450,000 from Turkish and Russian interests in 2015, including for an appearance in Moscow alongside President Vladimir Putin, but found no records that he had sought government approval beforehand. Their findings are detailed in a January 2021 memo to the Army released through the Freedom of Information Act on Thursday.
The Army notified Flynn in a May 2 letter, obtained by The Washington Post, that it would seek to recoup $38,557.06 from him, zeroing in on money and in-kind compensation he received for a gala dinner celebrating the 10th anniversary of RT, the Kremlin-run news agency. Putin sat beside Flynn at the event and later told NBC News that he “didn’t even really talk to” him.
Flynn did not respond to a phone call and emails seeking comment.
Craig R. Schmauder, an Army lawyer, wrote in the letter that Flynn’s failure “to obtain the approvals of the Secretary of the Army and the Secretary of State resulted in a violation of the Emoluments Clause,” a provision of the U.S. Constitution that prohibits retired military personnel from receiving money from foreign governments without prior authorization.
“When there is a finding that a military retiree has violated the Emoluments Clause, the United States Government may pursue a debt collection,” Schmauder wrote to Flynn.
Schmauder added that the Army was requesting that the Defense Financing Accounting Service “seek recoupment from you of a debt in the amount of $38,557.06.” It was not clear why the Army sanctioned Flynn for the Moscow visit but not his other work.
Sean O’Donnell, the acting Defense Department inspector general, wrote in the January 2021 memo released Thursday that Defense Department regulations state that if a retired U.S. service member receives money from a foreign government without prior approval, it is considered “received by the retired member for the United States.”
“A debt in favor of the government is created which is to be collected by withholding from retired pay,” O’Donnell wrote.
In addition to the RT dinner in December 2015, O’Donnell’s memo highlights Flynn’s paid appearance at an October 2015 conference sponsored by Kaspersky Government Security Solutions, “an entity that appears to be controlled by the Russian government,” and Flynn’s work for Inovo BV, a corporation organized in the Netherlands that assisted the Turkish government.
The Army determined April 28 that Flynn violated the emoluments clause, Michael Brady, an Army spokesman, said in an email. The Army forwarded its findings to the Defense Finance and Accounting Service, which calculates how much is owed and handles collection.
Flynn acknowledged the financial penalty in a television interview broadcast in May, saying the Defense Department was “going to reach into my retirement and … take some money out.”
“Yeah, it means something, but at the end of the day, this country means a heck of a lot more than what they will do to me,” Flynn said then, suggesting the punitive action was politically motivated.
Flynn was Trump’s first national security adviser but became ensnared in the Justice Department’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election. He abruptly left the White House just weeks into the administration, later pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russia’s ambassador to the United States, and then attempted to reverse course before Trump eventually pardoned him in November 2020.
After Trump’s defeat, Flynn suggested to Trump that he declare martial law and force a “rerun” of the contest in key states that went for President Biden.
The Defense Department inspector general’s investigation was opened in April 2017 but languished for years while Flynn was the subject of a criminal investigation.
O’Donnell, the acting inspector general, wrote in his memo that his investigation had been “held in abeyance since June 2017, pending the resolution of criminal allegations against LTG Flynn.” LTG stands for lieutenant general, Flynn’s rank when he retired from the Army in 2014.
After Trump pardoned Flynn, the Justice Department informed O’Donnell’s office “that their interest in this matter is moot” and that the inspector general’s office “may proceed in a manner we deem appropriate,” the memo said.

Peter Navarro Says Mike Pence Is ‘Guilty of Treason’… Against Trump
The former vice president “stuck a knife in the back of President Trump,” whined the man who tried to overturn the 2020 election.
William Vaillancourt
Published Jul. 12, 2022 12:17AM ET
Former Trump White House official Peter Navarro, who helped devise a scheme to overturn the 2020 presidential election, declared Monday that former Vice President Mike Pence is “guilty of treason to at least President Trump and perhaps to this country.”
Navarro, who has been criminally charged for ignoring a congressional subpoena for testimony over his involvement in Jan. 6, last month unsuccessfully tried to delay his trial, claiming his book tour will occupy too much of his time. A frequent, talkative guest on news networks, the Trump administration trade adviser still managed to do some promotional work for it Monday on the friendly airwaves of The Balance, Eric Bolling’s Newsmax show.
Recalling the days prior to Jan. 6, Navarro told Bolling that he remembered an aide telling him that Pence wanted to speak with him over the phone.
“I get on the line and it’s crickets. And what happened, I think, was that his Koch Brother chief of staff, Marc Short, intercepted the call [and] backed Pence off,” Navarro said.
“And the reason why I think Pence is guilty of treason to at least President Trump and perhaps to this country,” he claimed, “is that he acted on the basis of a flawed legal opinion concocted by his own general counsel that he did not share, Eric, with either the president or the president’s White House legal counsel.”
Bolling did not push back against this serious allegation, which is punishable by death, but merely asked for clarity from his guest. “So, lack of movement—lack of doing anything —is what you’re describing as treasonous activity by Pence?” Bolling asked. “Nothing necessarily that he did, but that he had an opportunity to do something but he didn’t do it?”
Navarro then reiterated that Pence had a “duty” to inform the president and his legal team of what Navarro insisted was a “flawed” legal opinion: that Pence did not possess the authority to prevent the certification of Biden as the election winner. Navarro argued that Pence did—a claim legal experts have rejected.
Pence, Navarro complained, effectively “stuck a knife” in Trump’s back by not adhering to his scheme.
