They left out so much information. They aren't even telling you what the fucking effects of a nuclear explosion are and what it does to your body with a small amount of radiation or a large amount.
Rule #1 it's much better to be in the blast radius and get vaporized instantly as opposed to trying to get away from the blast radius and getting the equivalent 100 rounds of chemo in you.
Rule #2 If you can't make it outside of the blast radius in time or the fallout, find the biggest building/warehouse or whatever. Don't use your home. You have merely a few walls to keep you from the outside.
The bigger the building, the more layers of protection you have.
