"Jesus" never existed. That name is a transliteration from the real guy's name, Yeshua(Hebrew), or Yehoshua.(Aramaic), Iesous(Greek), Jesus(Latin)
The person you're referring to is named Yeshua bin Yosef. Joshua son of Joseph.
"Jesus" was attributed to Yeshua posthumously by about 300 years, when a roman scribe transliterated the Greek texts into Latin.
Pretty good sauce here on how Yeshua became Yehoshua who became Iesous who became Jesus. All because non-hebrew speakers attempted and failed to pronounce Yeshua. The limitations of their languages didn't allow for some sounds like "sh" and required others be changed or removed to fit grammar rules about gender.

I wish Christians were more interested in the history of the bible, than the history IN the bible.
