Whenever Panama Papers are mentioned, it is often overlooked that the impetus behind the 'scandal' is all tied up in FATCA and the IRS. Basically, the US government forcing disclosure on foreign banks, for shit that is really none of their fucking business. Yes, I know nefarious companies and people take advantage of foreign banking laws. The point is, do we have privacy or not? Obviously the answer is NOT. It is another layer of the duplicity….THEY can keep everything obscured from YOU, but just you go try to open a foreign account somewhere and conduct offshore transactions. Gets more difficult every year, and they paint citizens as criminals practically, just for doing legal offshore banking. As if it is unpatriotic to keep what you've earned and try to prevent the criminal IRS from stealing from you.
