that's a gross oversimplification. the vain, vacuous, shallow, superficial sheeple are WILLING co-conspirators in their "financial stress." over a fairly long life (so far) i've watched as most peoples' spending increased right along with their income, rather than saving and investing in tangible assets. no one FORCED these people to buy every new and useless gadget that came along, or squander money on bling and shiny trinkets. they are not low IQ, they're lacking in CHARACTER. at the same time, i've observed immigrants (not all, but some) who arrive with nothing, bust their asses, and save and invest, and in a few decades have large and prosperous families.
