Trump Returning to DC For Speaking Event In First Trip to Capital Since Leaving Office
July 14, 2022
Former President Donald Trump, who is said to be heavily considering another presidential run, hasn’t set foot in the nation’s capital since he left office Jan. 20, 2021.
But the 45th president is scheduled to return to Washington, D.C., later this week to attend a conservative event where he will be a keynote speaker.
As reported by Axios, Trump will headline a July 26 event sponsored by the America First Policy Institute.

The former president is slated to deliver the keynote address at 3 p.m. local time on the second day of the AFPI’s two-day, invitation-only policy summit. The event will be streamed live and open to the press, Newsmax added.
A 501(C)(3) non-profit research institute, AFPI says its purpose is to advance policies that put the American people first.
“Our guiding principles are liberty, free enterprise, national greatness, American military superiority, foreign-policy engagement in the American interest, and the primacy of American workers, families and communities in all we do,” the group notes on its website.
