Canadian 2SLGBTQ+ group says it received death threats after its youth drag show was exposed by Libs of TikTok

The founder of a Canadian 2SLGBTQ+ group for young people says he and his staff received death threats when the popular Libs of TikTok account posted about a youth drag show.

Libs of TikTok posted on July 5 about the event that was advertised by Outloud North Bay.

The advertisement featured a photograph of a child in drag.

"You asked…. so we are planning our first real YOUTH DRAG SHOW. If you have an interest in dressing up in drag and performing NOW IS YOUR CHANCE," the ad read.

Seth Compton, the founder of OutLoud North Bay, told CBC that he and his staff had received death threats and other hateful messages as a result of the Libs of TikTok tweet.

"And it had nothing to do with bringing drag queens in. It had nothing to do with entertaining adults or anything like that," Compton said.

He claimed that the young members wanted to host the drag show themselves.

"I want to promote inclusion, and love and acceptance in our space. And that's what we do," he continued.

"And it breaks me. I feel broken," Compton added. "I mean, to read through some of these messages — and I'm not talking just a few. I received thousands."

He said that he might have taken his own life because of the messages if he were not in a healthy mental state.

The North Bay Police Service said they were looking into the death threats but that they would be difficult to prosecute because they would have to coordinate with U.S. law enforcement.

"It's absolutely disgusting just to head over to that account, and just look at what they're promoting and how social media can allow accounts like that to stay open," said Compton.

The Libs of TikTok account has been targeted by the media on the left, but the creator of the account says it will continue despite the attacks.

In June, Texas state Rep. Bryan Slaton pledged to put forth legislation to protect children from being exposed to drag show performances.

Video: Robert Kiyosaki Blasts ‘Communist’ Biden Energy, Economic Policies as ‘Plot to Destroy America’

Kiyosaki held up a copy of The Communist Manifesto, warning that it directly inspired Biden's Administration and will destroy America's middle class

Well-known businessman and best-selling author Robert Kiyosaki blasted Joe Biden’s “communist” energy and economic policies as being part of a “plot to destroy America” during a recent Newsmax interview, holding up a copy of The Communist Manifesto and telling the host that Biden’s polices came straight out of it.

Investment guru Robert Kiyosaki blasted Joe Biden’s energy and economic policies in a recent Newsmax interview, warning that they are part of a deliberate attempt to destroy the American middle class and could lead to a revolution.

Kiyosaki joined Newsmax’s Rob Schmitt Tonight to discuss record-setting inflation and America’s economic woes, pointing the finger squarely at the Biden Administration’s anti-oil and gas, Green New Deal policies that have skyrocketed the cost of energy, alongside virtually all goods and services, nationwide. After explaining his own background in the world of oil and gas, Kiyosaki, who is also a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, blasted Biden’s Green New Deal policies as “Communist” and bent on destroying America and her middle class.

“My background is oil,” Kiyosaki said. “I drill for oil. So when I see what’s happening today, it’s the Green New Deal, it’s the woke culture, and the academic Marxists who are destroying this country via inflation, caused by oil.”

“They cut out of the Keystone XL pipeline to raise the price [of oil], and to get inflation up,” Kiyosaki went on, explaining that when the Biden Administration shut down the massive pipeline and others like it, those at the top of the energy food chain got richer, and the average American got poorer.

“These communists are destroying the middle class of America,” Kiyosaki said. “Which just makes me sick,” adding that he saw the horrors of communism “first hand” as a Marine Corps pilot in Vietnam and warning that the communist attack on oil is a “global problem” that will also lead to food shortages, which already appear to be well underway.

Holding up a copy of Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto, Kiyosaki told the host that “it is a plot to destroy America. It is not a mistake. It’s a Green New Deal and we’ve gotta fight back,” warning at the end of the interview that “when the middle class becomes poor, we’re going to have a revolution.”

Lauren Boebert Introduces Legislation To Repeal Recently Passed Gun Control Bill

The Colorado Republican said the gun control legislation does not reflect the American people's interests and values.

“The so-called ‘Bipartisan Safer Communities Act’ tramples on the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens and will have no significant impact in stopping mass shootings and deterring gun violence,” the Colorado Republican said in a press release.

“This poorly written law was negotiated behind closed doors by a small group of Senate RINOs that do not reflect the interests and values of the American people,” she added.

Boebert criticized the gun control bill for never being negotiated openly in Congress. “Shockingly, this bill was rushed to the floor a few days after introduction and didn’t receive a single congressional hearing or markup despite the legal implications for millions of gun owners in America,” she explained.

The U.S. Senate voted on the legislation after Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) and Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) privately came to a deal.

Boebert introduced the “Shall Not Be Infringed Act” which, if passed, would “fully repeals this unconstitutional bill and defends the Second Amendment rights of all Americans.”

Rep. Boebert slammed the “Bipartisan Safer Communities Act” for its focus on red flag laws.

“Rather than hardening building security and allowing resources to be spent on training and staffing schools with more armed personnel, this bill seeks to bribe states with promises of Washington money for adopting red-flag gun seizure laws,” Boebert noted.

While Boebert’s bill most likely will not be voted on before the midterm election, if Republicans secure a majority in the House and/or Senate in November, her bill could potentially repeal the recently passed gun control legislation.

A multitude of prominent Republicans co-sponsored Boebert’s bill. The list includes Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY). Also on board are Reps. Andrew Clyde (R-GA), Jody Hice (R-GA), Mary Miller (R-IL), Matt Rosendale (R-MT), Dan Bishop (R-MI), Warren Davidson (R-OH), Jeff Duncan (R-SC), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Bob Good (R-VA), Randy Weber (R-TX), Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ), Scott Perry (R-PA), Adrian Smith (R-NE), Alex Mooney (R-WV), Brian Babin (R-TX), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Chip Roy (R-TX), Ben Cline (R-VA), Michael Cloud (R-TX), Troy Nehls (R-TX), Ralph Norman (R-SC), Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Doug Lamborn (R-CO), Vicky Hartzler (R-MO), and Ronny Jackson (R-TX).

George Gascón to Disband Unit That Notifies Victims of Convicts’ Parole Hearings

Embattled Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón is to disband a group of victims’ advocates within his office known as the “Lifer” unit that notifies victims when the people convicted of harming them are about to begin parole hearings.

Fox News’ Bill Melugin reported:

The Parole Unit, also known as the “Lifer Unit,” will be disbanded by the end of the year. The move comes after Gascon has banned prosecutors from attending parole hearings.

Gascon’s office confirmed the move to Fox News, saying that notifying the victims can be “triggering” to them, that it bogs down resources, and that ultimately, it is the responsibility of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Brazil’s Bolsonaro says he has plan to end Ukraine conflict

The president of South America’s biggest country has claimed to have a solution for ending the conflict in Eastern Europe

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro said he’s figured out how to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict, but he won’t share his plan with anyone until he pitches it to Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky next week.

“I'll tell him my opinion, what I think,” Bolsonaro told reporters on Thursday. “The solution to this, I know how it could be resolved, but I won't tell anyone.”

The Brazilian leader is scheduled to speak with Zelensky by phone on Monday. “This war has been causing huge disruption, less for Brazil, much more for Europe,” Bolsonaro said.

He declined to offer details of his proposed peace plan, but he said the conflict could be resolved “like how Argentina’s war with the UK ended in 1982.” Argentina invaded the British-controlled Falkland Islands in April 1982, prompting the UK to dispatch a large naval task force. The Argentinian forces were outmatched, and Buenos Aires surrendered in June 1982.

Facebook allows users to create multiple accounts – Bloomberg

The social media giant has reportedly reversed course on its ‘real name policy’ in the hope of keeping users on the platform

Facebook parent company Meta hopes to combat declining user numbers by allowing users to create multiple accounts, Bloomberg revealed on Thursday. Certain users will be able to create as many as four additional profiles, the report says.

The new profiles are said to be linked to the original account, and any violation committed by one will adversely affect the others. New accounts reportedly can’t be used for sock-puppeting – repeatedly “liking” a post or commenting under the false pretense of being multiple people. Facebook instead hopes users will create them for different aspects of their lives – one for friends, one for co-workers, one for special interests and so on, Bloomberg says.

However, according to the report, the extra profiles need not display the user’s real identity, a decision that represents something of a 180 for the social media behemoth. While Facebook has allowed public figures to keep multiple profiles and allowed users to have a separate profile on its Facebook Dating and Facebook Campus services, operating multiple personal accounts was previously forbidden.

Facebook parent company Meta is struggling with declining user numbers as young people flock to TikTok and other competitors. The company lost daily users for the first time in the last quarter of 2021, with some half a million individuals drifting away from the once-dominant platform.

The slump has been especially pronounced among young users, who are fleeing Facebook in droves and even distancing themselves from Instagram. Meta revealed last year that teens spend triple the amount of time on TikTok that they do on Instagram and prefer Snapchat over Messenger or WhatsApp for communicating with their friends.

While Facebook rebranded as Meta in a conscious shift from focusing solely on social media, the metaverse has proven less than profitable for the company as well, losing over $10 billion in 2021.

According to Bloomberg, Meta insists it will not use the multiple accounts in calculating its monthly or daily active user totals and claims the new direction is just a “test,” available to some US users and some in a few other countries.
