Person A puts something in particular place, then tells person B where to find it.
Person B goes to look, it is not there.
Person A is mystified about why the item is not there, but offers a replacement.
Person B is not satisfied and needs to continue to investigate. Person B retraces Person A's steps and eventually finds said item close to where described, but oddly obscured. Oddly, because it should have been memorable to whomever placed the item there.
Person A remains baffled.
Now here is where things get weird. I am person B, and I have a "memory" of placing the item in the place it was. However, that is physically impossible as I was a 1000 miles away when the item was acquired and originally placed.
