LA County supervisors grant themselves ‘illegal’ power to remove sitting sheriff

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors took their opposition to Sheriff Alex Villanueva to new heights Monday with a power grab he called an “illegal motion” to make themselves “judge, jury and executioner” for his office.

Since taking office in 2018, Villanueva has stood in contrast to the soft-on-crime policies dominating California politics and the draconian measures pushed in response to the COVID pandemic. Now, ahead of a Nov. 8 election, the board demonstrated that they are not willing to leave this decision up to the will of the people and that they must have the authority to remove a sitting sheriff.

Fox 11 reported on Agenda Item 12 that received a 4-1 vote from the board led by chair Holly Mitchell that would lead to their ability to unseat the sheriff “for cause” with a four-fifths vote. Cause was defined as “a violation of any law related to the performance of their duties as sheriff; flagrant or repeated neglect of duties; a misappropriation of public funds or property; willful falsification of a relevant official statement or document; or obstruction of any investigation into the conduct of the sheriff by…any government agency with jurisdiction to conduct such an investigation.”

Villanueva fired back in a statement that he posted on social media that stated in part, “This motion is a recipe for public corruption, particularly when ’cause’ remains so broad and undefined. Allowing political appointees with an agenda to determine ’cause’ is fundamentally flawed.”

He went on to write, “It appears you are making yourselves the judge, jury and executioner for the office of the sheriff, nullifying the will of the voters. This illegal motion seeks to undermine the role of the sheriff and render the office subordinate to the Board of Supervisors. On its face, your proposed ordinance language is not a proper reading of the law and will be challenged on these multiple grounds.”

The board’s overreach had been a major sticking point for Villanueva after they had mandated all 110,000 employees of Los Angeles County be vaccinated by Oct. 1 or face termination. As was reported, the sheriff refused to enforce the mandates he referred to as “a suicide pact” that would result in the termination of 4,000 deputies.

“This is nothing more than another politically motivated stunt by the board, which has no bearing on public health, but will definitely harm public safety,” he said at the time.

The latest move also appeared to be politically motivated as the campaign of former Long Beach Police Chief Robert Luna, Villanueva’s opponent heading into the November election, announced Monday that they had received the endorsement of all five members of the Board of Supervisors.

Even Supervisor Kathryn Barger, the dissenting vote and no fan of Villanueva’s said, “To me it just smacks of politics and I really do believe that this is driven by individual not by office.”

The Republican National Committee also spoke up on behalf of the sheriff whom Fox 11 reported was a registered Democrat. Their statement read: “Not only is Sheriff Villanueva an elected official, he’s one of the few who has been willing to stand up to the board for reducing law enforcement funding and effectively endangering the lives of Angelenos…This decision from the L.A. County Board of Supervisors would attempt to bully the elected sheriff into doing what they want and would be yet another blow to a free and fair democracy, thanks to California Democrats.”

Drafts of the required paperwork to include the motion on the ballot are expected to be completed by county attorneys before July 26 at which time the board will hold an additional vote to determine if it should proceed.

Injecting Babies with COVID-19 Vaccines: Brain Damage, Seizures, Rashes Are Recorded Side Effects in VAERS

We are now seeing more records of side effects from the pediatric COVID-19 vaccines for the most recent age group authorized by the FDA, babies and toddlers between the ages of 6 months and 4 years old. This age group was authorized to be injected with COVID-19 vaccines less than 1 month ago, on June 17th.

In the most recent update to the national Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) database this past Friday (July 8, 2021), 123 new records were added to this age group, with 137 cases now recorded since the FDA authorization. (Source.)

As we reported on July 6th, when the first few cases were beginning to show up in VAERS for the babies and toddlers, hallucinations are a very troubling side effect in this very young age group.

With these 137 cases recorded in the past few weeks, other troubling side effects including brain injuries, seizures, and skin rashes are showing up in the database.

27 of the 137 cases listed “Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome” as a side effect.

Cleveland Clinic defines “Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome” as:

Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) is a rare and life-threatening reaction to the use of any neuroleptic medication. Neuroleptics, also known as antipsychotic medications, treat and manage symptoms of many psychiatric conditions. (Source.)

I am tempted to write my emotional reaction to this news, but I want to keep this clean and G-rated.

What kind of parent would willingly inject their baby with something that has the same “rare and life-threatening reaction” as antipsychotic drugs?? No wonder some of these babies and toddlers are hallucinating!

Other side effects among these first 137 cases recorded in VAERS for babies and toddlers who are injected with the COVID-19 vaccines are: anaphylactic shock, dementia, depression, lupus, pancreatitis, colitis, Guillain-Barre syndrome, encephalitis, seizures, meningitis, and all sorts of rashes. The most common reason for recording a case to submit to VAERS for this age group, by far, is “medication error,” where the pharmacist or doctor injected the baby with the wrong dose, either an adult dose, or a dose for an older child.

Such gross incompetency among medical staff should not surprise us, since most of the good, ethical doctors have quit or been fired over their refusal to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, or inject others with one. The ones remaining are either vaccine zealots, or worse, they know full well that these vaccines are killing and harming children, but they fear losing their job more than standing up for what is right.

As I read through the write-ups of each of these cases, it is clear that many of the toddlers are putting up a fight to resist being injected, but if it results in only getting a partial dose of the vaccine, they just inject them again.

I also noted in several of the write-ups that instead of referring to the “parent” of the child, reference is made to the “guardian,” which suggests that some of these babies and toddlers are in the foster care system, where their “guardians” have no choice but to inject their “foster children” because the child is technically a ward of the State, and the State has the right to administer any medical procedure, even experimental ones, without parental notification.

First Oklahoma, now Texas: Another natural gas facility EXPLODES

Yet another piece of America’s energy infrastructure went up in flames over the weekend, this time in the Houston-area town of Willis.

Officials from Fort Bend County say they responded to a natural gas pipeline explosion that occurred in the 15400 block of JoAnn near FM 1952, located just west of Orchard.

Precinct One Constable Chad Norvell announced on Twitter that nobody was harmed and no buildings were damaged.

“It will take some time to close the line and burn off,” he added about the fire – watch the video below:

Energy Transfer, the pipeline’s owner, issued a statement as well following instructions to area residents to stay away from the pipeline and the massive fireball flames that were seen emanating from it.

“There was an incident today in Fort Bend County on the Old Ocean Pipeline at approximately 11:15 am,” the company announced. “Our control center immediately shut in the line and the area was secured. There were no injuries.”

“By shutting in the line and isolating the impacted section of the pipeline line, the fire was allowed to safely burn itself out by 12:30 pm. All appropriate regulatory agencies have been notified. We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available. There will be an investigation into the cause of the incident. We will not have any information on that until the investigation is complete.”

Effort To Recall Soros-Funded DA Meets Signature Threshold, Recall Could Happen In November

Los Angeles County’s “failed district attorney” George Gascón received bad news this past weekend when Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean Logan announced that the recall effort against him had received over 700,000 signatures — well beyond the necessary 566,000 needed to force another vote.

Gascón comes from a long line of soft-on-crime Democratic prosecutors, funded by progressive liberal billionaire George Soros.

Like several other Soros-funded lawyers, the California attorney has allowed his jurisdiction to be ransacked by lawlessness the likes of which include: looting, riots, rampant homelessness, drug use, and brazen violent crime.

As a result, many of Gascón’s own colleagues are not supportive of his policies, according to The Washingon Examiner.

“After Boudin was recalled in San Francisco, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva called Gascon a ‘failed district attorney’ and also criticized him in a discussion with us at our Los Angeles symposium.” the article reads. “The Association of Deputy District Attorneys, the union representing the 1,000 attorneys who work for Gascon, has filed two lawsuits against him.”

US Life Expectancy Has Fallen Behind China

Life expectancy in China was on course to overtake that of the U.S. around 2027. Then the COVID-19 pandemic started.

Chinese people now live longer than their U.S. counterparts, latest data showed.

The average life expectancy of Chinese people has risen from 76.5 years in 2016 to 77.93 at present, Mao Qun’an, a senior official from the National Health Commission, announced on Tuesday. This puts it above that of the U.S., which stood at 76.6 years in 2021.

Calculations in 2018 suggested that life expectancy in China was on course to overtake that of the U.S. around 2027, but the process has been sped up by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The U.S. experienced a historic decline in life expectancy due to COVID-19, which became the third leading cause of death in the country in 2020 and 2021, as a new study by the National Cancer Institute found.

More than a million have died from COVID in the U.S. by May this year, driving a major drop in life expectancy for the second year in a row.

Published in April, a study based on government provisional data found a net loss of 2.26 years in U.S. life expectancy since 2019. It is now at the lowest in more than two decades, a trend Steven Woolf, a professor at Virginia Commonwealth University who conducted the study, described as “disturbing.”

China, in the meantime, aims to raise average life expectancy to 79 years by 2030. It has clamped down on childhood obesity, spent up to a billion dollars to build free fitness facilities, and even limited the time minors can spend on video games, all in an effort to promote the health of its citizens.

In addition, the Chinese government follows a stringent zero-COVID policy that seeks to stamp out any infection with lockdowns and mass testing. It has helped the country keep its COVID death toll remarkably low, even if its official 5,200 COVID fatalities likely represent just a fraction of the true toll of the virus in the country.

But such a comparison does not necessarily reflect the full picture.

“Life expectancy is an estimate of mortality rates in a population for a given year,” Woolf told VICE World News. “Neither estimate tells us anything about what life expectancy will be in the next year in either country and thus which country is excelling.”

FDA official – “It’s like a horror movie I’m being forced to watch and I can’t close my eyes,”

‘The calls and text messages are relentless. On the other end are doctors and scientists at the top levels of the NIH, FDA and CDC. They are variously frustrated, exasperated and alarmed about the direction of the agencies to which they have devoted their careers.

“It’s like a horror movie I’m being forced to watch and I can’t close my eyes,” one senior FDA official lamented. “People are getting bad advice and we can’t say anything.

That particular FDA doctor was referring to two recent developments inside the agency. First, how, with no solid clinical data, the agency authorized Covid vaccines for infants and toddlers, including those who already had Covid. And second, the fact that just months before, the FDA bypassed their external experts to authorize booster shots for young children.

That doctor is hardly alone.

The NIH’s Vaccine Research Center has had many of its senior scientists leave over the last year, including the director, deputy director and chief medical officer.

The CDC has experienced a similar exodus. “There’s been a large amount of turnover. Morale is low,” one high level official at the CDC told us.

Three weeks ago, the CDC vigorously recommended mRNA Covid vaccines for 20 million children under five years of age. Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the CDC, declared that the mRNA Covid vaccines should be given to everyone six months or older because they are safe and effective.

The trouble is that this sweeping recommendation was based on extremely weak, inconclusive data provided by Pfizer and Moderna.“

Georgia: Election Group Founded By Stacey Abrams Didn’t Report Millions In Spending

Georgia’s state election commission is alleging that the New Georgia Project, an election group founded by Stacey Abrams, didn’t disclose millions in expenses.

They claim that the New Georgia project didn’t disclose $3 million in electioneering expenses and over $4 million in political contributions. This is required by law.

Georgia officials this week alleged that an election group founded by state Democratic superstar Stacey Abrams worked in partnership with an action fund and failed to report upwards of $7 million in spending as required by state law.

The complaint filed by the Georgia Government Transparency & Campaign Finance Commission alleges that the New Georgia Project “failed to disclose” about $7.3 million in expenditures to both political organizations and third-party vendors.

The disputed expenditures occurred from 2017-2019. The complaint was first filed in 2019, with the state filing an amended complaint this week.

The commission is said that the New Georgia Project and the Action Fund illegally canvassed for Democratic candidates including Abrams.

The commission alleges that in 2018 the New Georgia Project and the Action Fund illegally canvassed for Democratic candidates including Abrams, used phone bank scripts pushing people to vote Democratic and included “#teamAbrams” in social media posts soliciting donations. It also targets the group for work on a 2019 Gwinnett County MARTA referendum vote.

The Action Fund is a 501(c)(4), which is authorized to conduct some political activities.

New Georgia Project is a nonprofit and risks losing its tax-exempt status if it engages in partisan advocacy or endorses a candidate.

Georgia’s state election commission is planning on holding a hearing on August 1st.

Prince Faisal appeared determined to pour cold water over the declared expectations in Jerusalem and Washington that the kingdom’s decision, announced Thursday, to open its airspace to all civilian carriers — a move that will enable flights to and from Israel to China and India through far shorter and less costly routes — marked a first step toward formal relations with Israel.

“No, this has nothing to do with diplomatic ties with Israel,” the minister said in a press conference after the GCC+3 regional summit in Jeddah. “The issue of overflights is a decision we took… in the interest [of] providing connectivity between countries in the world, and we hope that it will make some travelers’ lives easier. On Friday morning, in a similar vein, Prime Minister Yair Lapid welcomed the move “opening Saudi airspace to Israeli airlines” as “the first official step in normalization with Saudi Arabia.”

“I thank the Saudi leadership for the opening of Saudi airspace. This is only the first step,” Lapid added.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the Saudi foreign minister’s remarks.

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman raised the killing of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in his conversation with US President Joe Biden Friday, an official familiar with the matter told The Times of Israel.

The official characterized bin Salman’s comment as a retort to Biden after the latter opened their meeting by confronting him about the murder of Washington Post reporter Jamal Khashoggi.

The crown prince highlighted the fact that Abu Akleh was a US citizen and asked Biden what he was doing to ensure justice after her killing during clashes between Israeli troops and Palestinian gunmen in Jenin on May 11, the official said Saturday, confirming an Al Arabiya report.

The official said Abu Akleh was one of several examples, along with the torture of prisoners by US troops in Iraq’s Abu Ghraib prison, that the crown prince raised in an attempt to call out the ostensible hypocrisy in Biden’s position on human rights issues in Saudi Arabia.

A second source — a senior US official — acknowledged that the two leaders’ discussion at the beginning of the meeting was “frosty,” but said they then moved on and the meeting was productive.

Former Democratic rep files for bankruptcy after losing ‘revenge porn’ lawsuits

Katie Hill sued journalists and a tabloid over nude photos.

Katie Hill, the former California Democratic rep who was at the center of an embarrassing nude photo scandal in 2019, has filed for bankruptcy after losing several lawsuits related to the publication of those photos.

Hill, who resigned her seat serving California’s 25th Congressional district amid the controversy, sued the British newspaper Daily Mail, the conservative writer Jennifer Van Laar, and radio producer Joseph Messina in connection with the photos.

She lost those lawsuits and was subsequently ordered to pay over $200,000 to the defendants. Her bankruptcy filing could discharge those obligations.

Hill has indicated that she may run for Congress again in the future.

Russian Defence Minister Ordered To Mount Offensive In Ukraine

On July 16, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu came to Ukraine to inspect the Russian military deployed in the neighboring country. The head of the Russian military department gave the necessary instructions to further increase the actions of the Russian military in all operational areas in order to exclude the possibility of the Kiev regime to inflict massive missile and artillery strikes on civilian infrastructure and residents of settlements in the Donbass and other regions.

At the command post, Army General Sergei Shoigu heard reports from Army General Sergei Surovikin, Commander of the South group, Colonel General Alexander Lapin, commander of the Center group, and other commanders on the current situation, the nature of enemy actions and the progress of the Russian Armed Forces’ combat missions.

The order of the Russian Defence Minister may mark the beginning of a major offensive of Russian-led forces in the area of the city of Donetsk. This is one of the most heavily fortified areas, where Russian advance was almost stopped. The Armed Forces of Ukraine deployed near the city of Donetsk are shelling civilians living in the region on a daily basis, increasing the number of casualties.

Moscow had previously warned that the Russian side was not yet “fighting in full force”, but was conducting a special operation with limited means and forces. At the same time the Kremlin has highlighted its readiness for negotiations since the very beginning of the Russian intervention.

“Today we hear that they want to defeat us on the battlefield. Well, what can I say here, let them try,” Russian President Putin claimed on July 7. The President added that “we haven’t really started anything yet.”

Putin said that Moscow is not abandoning peace talks. “But those who refuse should know that the further it goes, the more difficult it will be to negotiate with us,” the head of state said.

At the same time, Putin assured that the Russian military is not going to mobilize any additional forces. Russia has not declared war on Ukraine. If the Russian groups stationed in the Donbass and other regions of Ukraine are not reinforced with additional forces, it is unclear how the Russian military could fulfill Shoigu’s order.
