John Lasseter Leaving Disney, Pixar Amid Misconduct Allegations

John Lasseter, the Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation and Pixar Animation, is leaving his role at the end of the year in wake of misconduct allegations.

“John had a remarkable tenure at Pixar and Disney Animation, reinventing the animation business, taking breathtaking risks, and telling original, high quality stories that will last forever,” said Disney Chairman and CEO Robert Iger in a statement Friday.

Deadline reported on multiple allegations against Lasseter in November:

At the animator’s insistence, Disney flew the women to a New York event. One Pixar employee became the designated escort as Lasseter took the young women out drinking one night, and to a party the following evening.

“He was inappropriate with the fairies,” said the former Pixar executive, referring to physical contact that included long hugs. “We had to have someone make sure he wasn’t alone with them.”

Another incident involved Lasseter pulling a “female executive tightly to him and move his hands over her body.” Witnesses claim the woman was “pissed” and said “being groped by John Lasseter” was not in her job description.

TWITTER DE-VERIFIES LOUIS FARRAKHAN AFTER ‘SATANIC JEW’ RANT

Twitter appears to have de-verified Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan on Friday, two days after he ranted about “Satanic Jews” and the “Synagogue of Satan.”

Farrakhan is a notorious racist and anti-Semite who has close ties to several Democratic members of Congress.

“I wonder will you recognize Satan? I wonder, will you see the Satanic Jew and the Synagogue of Satan, which has many races in it, because Satan has deceived the whole world, and think about the message that I was blessed by God to give you today,” Farrakhan said in a video he posted Wednesday.

“Think about what they’re gonna say when they have been so thoroughly and completely unmasked. Whenever you read that God has told the Jews to hear and obey, and they say, I hear and I disobey, that’s Satan,” he continued.

Farrakhan was still verified sometime on Friday, internet archives show, but by Friday evening the blue checkmark has disappeared from his account. Twitter has in the past taken similar punitive measures against racists and white nationalists.

A Twitter spokesperson said the company is “unable to comment on individual accounts, for privacy and security reasons.”

The tech company drew criticism in November after refusing to de-verify Farrakhan at that time.
