Ornato left his role as Secret Service agent to become chief of operations responsible for all aspects of security, travel, information technology, military operations, scheduling and operational logistics required in support of the President.

Ornato also serves on the National Continuity Committee, the group responsible for implementing Continuity of Government, based on the Federal Mission Resilience Strategy.

The Executive Committee shall be composed of the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Director of National Intelligence, the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs (APNSA), the Assistant to the President and Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget.
