Each county/area/polling booth, does own.
We usually have results by midnight.
& the way stats work, early counting trends usually don't "radically" change, at 60-80% vote count!

fwiw D/U only place anon can even get a "voting paper" is INSIDE a polling place (aka a schho gym etc).
We have to get name crossed of a PAPER printed list as turning up to vote is compulsory. (have option to put in box with out writing on it, or can draw mickey mouse, or vote for startrek if want, but must turn up or fined)
Why the USA send out millions of "ballot papers" (a 'special' doc) so routers can pump non protected boxes in the street, is just…..STUPID!
