Personal story time
When I was in high school (mid 2000's), I had to write a paper for a final exam. The subject was which historical figure would you like to meet, and what would you ask them. I chose to write about Adolf Hitler, and would have asked him how he was able to gain so much suppport of the German people if he was this evil monster "history" portrays him as, since all the German people I knew personally were all very kind generous people. The "official story" always struck me as illogical, how did this supposid monster gain the support of the people? Was he really this evil madman, or maybe someone was lying? I actually got a good grade for it too.
