EU Ambassador Says Communist China Should ‘Rule The World,’ Calls for ‘Reunification’ with Taiwan
The EU’s newly appointed ambassador to Beijing has argued that it is “essential” that Communist China “rules the world,” and that the bloc would support the “reunification” of the independent island of Taiwan with the mainland.
In an interview with the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia, Spain’s former ambassador to Japan, Jorge Toledo Albiñana set out what appears to be the most friendly position towards the Chinese Communist Party from an EU diplomat in years, critically contradicting other statements on the sovereignty of Taiwan.
“The EU does not defend the independence of Taiwan, but the peaceful reunification. We believe that there should be only one China,” Albiñana said.
Given the newly appointed EU ambassador to Beijing also said that the bloc would not accept an invasion of the island by Communist China and would impose similar sanctions to those levied against Russia following the full-scale invasion earlier this year of Ukraine, it is unclear how such a “reunification” could occur given the fact that Taiwan has never been ruled by the CCP and maintains its own democratically elected government, military, currency, written language, and culture.
Responding to the comments, Taiwanese foreign ministry spokeswoman Joanne Ou said: “Taiwan has never been part of the People’s Republic of China. The sovereignty of Taiwan belongs only to all the people of Taiwan, and only the people of Taiwan can decide the future of Taiwan.
“It is also a peace-loving and mature democratic country and shares values of freedom, democracy and human rights with the European Union.”
The comments from the ambassador were also contradicted by EU Parliament Vice President Nicola Beer, who visited Taipei this week, one of the most senior EU figures to do so.
“Now is the moment to stand firm on the side of Taiwan,” Beer said, going on to describe Taiwan as a member of the “family of democracies”.
“Taiwan’s bloom is also Europe’s bloom. We won’t have a blind eye on China’s threats to Taiwan. Europe was late for Hong Kong, we won’t be late for Taiwan,” she said. “There is no room for Chinese aggression in democratic Taiwan. For the moment, we witness war in Europe; we do not want to witness war in Asia.”

While the EU put its massive trade deal with Beijing on hold following a series of tit-for-tat sanctions after European lawmakers condemned the “genocide” being committed against the Muslim Uyghurs and other ethnic minorities in the Western Xinjiang region of China, there have been calls from top Eurocrats to continue to engage with Beijing, including European Council President Charles Michel.
The newly appointed ambassador to Beijing appears to be in this faction, saying: “The EU and China are the world’s most important trading partners… That said, we are also competitors. But we do not have to fight, but rather negotiate so that European companies that export to China have the same conditions as Chinese companies that export to Europe, something that is not happening now.”
Albiñana went further saying that it is the EU sees China as a “partner” and that it is “essential and necessary to have China to rule the world,” adding that it will be important to work alongside Beijing on issues such as the Wuhan virus, the “climate crisis,” and the Iranian nuclear weapons programme.

Pro-abortion protestors now moving on to harassing the entire neighborhood where Brett Kavanaugh lives
So by the laws of the left, it's not only O.K. to hound and harass a Supreme Court justice in his home, the whole neighborhood can get harassed out of house and home, too.
That's the reality, now that filthy-mouthed and potentially violent protestors are getting away with such deeds against Justice Brett Kavanaugh and now his neighbors.

Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s neighbors are fed up with the actions of protesters near their homes as some engaging in pro-choice activism have chosen to personally target residents, rather than heed noise complaints.
In June, Fox News Digital spoke with neighbors who painted a picture of protesters who are loud and intimidating, threatening escalation if they don’t get what they want. Furthermore, neighbors claimed that protesters had abused them and their children, using drums and megaphones to chant "f- you," and "f- your children."
A Wednesday piece from The Washington Post shows that little has changed in two months. The paper spoke with eight different sources from the neighborhood. Seven of them voiced frustrations about the protests, citing "jarring language" and rising tensions.
Residents, in some cases, have attempted to confront protesters over their methods but were quickly excoriated.
"They just call us fascists," Lyric Winik, a resident of the neighborhood, told The Post. "Nothing about this is healthy. We’ve got kids on this street scared to leave their homes."
Imagine having to listen to that, and when you complain, they call you 'Karen.' Police are now being flooded with calls from neighbors, who are being chased out at least temporarily just to get away from the bellowing, the obscenities, the graffiti, the traffic, and the mess.

Demonstrators take strong exception to the reactions, saying that to whatever extent they disrupt tranquility, it is part of a much more important message — bringing attention to how a number of justices altered the lives of millions — and a message could be even stronger with the residents’ participation. As they chanted recently: “Out of your houses and into the streets!”
Washington, D.C. being Washington, D.C., the Post, noted that these harassed residents are hardly conservatives. They are affluent Democrats and leftists, who have stated they on the same side as the pro-abortion protestors, with some posting signs about their pro-choice views as a sort of "inoculation" shot to keep protestors from targeting them, which rather tells us that this is a campaign of terror.

China is top foreign buyer of US housing at $6.1 billion last year
Chinese buyers flooded the American housing market with more than $6 billion last year, more than purchasers from any other foreign country.
Foreign purchasers from China bought $6.1 billion in U.S. homes from April 2021 to March 2022, which the trade association’s report said was up 30% from the prior year. Canadians bought $5.5 billion in U.S. housing properties, Indians bought $3.6 billion, Mexicans $2.9 billion, and Brazilians $1.6 billion, according to a new report by the National Association of Realtors.
The average home purchased by Chinese buyers was worth just over $1 million — the most expensive average among foreign purchases and up from China's $710,000 average the year before. The report said buyers from China bought heavily in expensive states, with 31% of their purchases in California and 10% in New York. The Chinese purchases also included 7% in Indiana, 7% Florida, 5% Oklahoma, 5% Missouri, 5% Arizona, and smaller percentages elsewhere.
Purchasers from China made up 6% of all foreign buyers, as compared to Canadians making up 11%, Mexicans 8%, Indians 5%, and Brazilians 3%.
The new report said that 58% of Chinese buyers made all-cash purchases — the highest aside from 69% of Canadian purchases and 65% of Colombian ones.
Buyers from China were among the top two most likely groups to buy housing for rental purposes, at 25% of their purchases, according to the report, while Chinese purchases also represented the highest percentage (at 8%) of foreign buyers buying homes for student use. Only India came close to the student use percentage at 5%.
China’s purchases were 57% urban homes, while 29% were in suburban areas.
A footnote in the report stated that “China includes buyers from the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.”
The United States has condemned the Chinese government for its crackdown in Hong Kong. The Chinese government has long sought to bring the territory of Taiwan under its control, including through forcible annexation or invasion. Taiwan is democratic and self-governed, and it receives U.S. defense support. America's relations with Taiwan became unofficial in 1979 after the U.S. agreed to establish diplomatic relations with the Chinese mainland.
FBI Director Christopher Wray said earlier this month that “we consistently see that it’s the Chinese government that poses the biggest long-term threat to our economic and national security.”

The New York socialite's rose gold casket was lowered into the ground 'not too far from the main club house' at Trump's Bedminster Golf Course Wednesday afternoon, a source in attendance told the New York Post, in a 'private grassy area.'
'It was beautiful,' the unidentified source said of the burial, which was attended by family members and a few close friends.
Ivana's three children - Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric Trump - are said to have spoken at the burial ceremony after telling mourners at the funeral what a trailblazer the former Czech model was.
And former President Donald Trump told the mourners around the burial site 'just what an incredible woman she was and what a strong woman, and she commanded a room.'
Ivana's legacy is now forever marked at the New Jersey golf club with 'a very discreet piece of granite engraved with her name.'
She was remembered earlier in the day as a 'trailblazer' who lived the American Dream after coming to the United States from Czechoslovakia, raising three children while developing her own personal brand.
The funeral service was billed a 'Celebration of Life' and was limited to just about 100 mourners, each of whom were required to display their invitation to enter the St Vincent Ferrer Church as onlookers gathered outside.
