MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) – For the second time in a week, an arrest warrant has been issued for Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters.
Peters is currently out on bond awaiting trial on charges that she tampered with election equipment following the 2020 election.
As a condition of her bond, she wasn't supposed to have contact with anyone at the Mesa County Clerk's Office.
According to our news partners in Denver, she emailed that office this week as well as others around the state. She was asking for a recount in her recent primary bid.
The warrant was issued this afternoon. There is no word on her status tonight.
