He then went on to earn master's degree in national security studies at Georgtown University (Jesuit school). He Served as an officer in the United States Navy for seven years in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and served as a special assistant to the chief of naval operations at the Pentagon. In 1985, Bannon earned a Master of Business Administration degree with honors from Harvard Business School.
