This is the most comprehensive resource ever compiled on the Mountain Meadows Massacre cover-up. Nearly 4 hours of material! Until now, much of this information has NOT been available on the internet. The information was locked away in scholarly journals, diaries, magazines, books, articles, histories, YouTube videos etc. The research for this video took hundreds of hours. I thank the excellent Mormon historian Will Bagley for writing the definitive book on the subject โ€“ Blood of the Prophets: Brigham Young and the Massacre at Mountain Meadows (2002). Bagley spent over 6 years researching this topic in archives all across the United States.

The mass murder at Mountain Meadows has been the most taboo subject in all of Mormon history. In Sept. 1857, around 50-60 Mormon men along with Paiute Indians murdered 120 men, women and children at Mountain Meadows near Cedar City, Utah. The victims were an emigrant wagon train, from Arkansas, the Fancher party, trying to get to California. I give several sources where you can verify this for yourself as well as other details of the attack such as WHY it occurred. But that is not the purpose of this video. The purpose is to document the 163 year cover-up which started in 1857 and continues to this very day, July 19, 2020. Mormon leaders knew and talked about the truth in private but denied it in public.

Mormon apologists have been forced to admit that Mormons planned and organized the attack. The goalposts for Mormons has changed over the years. They are now trying to protect the image of Brigham Young, saying he had nothing to do with the attack. Mormons have gone from blaming the Indians for the entire attack to blaming the Indians for killing ALL of the women and children. Several non-Mormon historians say that Brigham Young ordered the attack. They also say that Mormon men participated with Indians in killing the women and children. Most of the wagon train was women and children.

I go through a lot of Mormon books on doctrine and history as well as Utah school textbooks from the past to see what has been said about the massacre over the years. The massacre is never mentioned by Mormon scholars such as Bruce R. McConkie and James E. Talmage. Other Mormon scholars such as Joseph Fielding Smith, John A. Widtsoe and Hugh Nibley rarely wrote or spoke about Mountain Meadows. Utah school textbooks of the past, mostly written by Mormons, are silent or blame the Indians for the attack. Mormon historians like Leonard J. Arrington and Davis Bitton were silent or gave false reasons for the attack when dealing with the history of Utah.

The massacre has been a millstone around the church's neck and has been a public relations nightmare. The issue refuses to die because the Mormon church will not come fully clean about their responsibility for the attack. The leaders of the church will not fully apologize or pay reparations to descendants of the victims.

Anyway, enjoy the video if you can get through it. It is my second Magnum Opus. The first being my video on the Adam God cover-up. Doing that video gave me the know-how to make this one. This video is personal to me as well because I was born in Cedar City, Utah, although I did not grow up there. This video was a labor of love. Enjoy!
