Kiev has plotted another provocation at an oil and fat processing plant in Slovyansk, the head of the Russian National Defense Control Center, Col. Gen. Mikhail Mizintsev, said on Monday, adding that it involves the explosion of containers including more than 120 tonnes of toxic hexane.

"The Russian Ministry of Defense warns the residents of Slovyansk that the Kiev regime has completed preparations for another monstrous provocation using potent poisonous substances. At the oil and fat plant, the Ukrainian security employees are planning to blow up containers with a chemically hazardous substance — hexane — with a total volume of more than 120 tonnes in the coming days," Mizintsev said.

The chemical provocation may lead to the death of dozens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians, he added.

Hexane is a powerful neurotoxin and carcinogen that is irritating to the skin and affects the lungs if inhaled, Mizintsev said, adding that it also acts as a strong drug.
