ICAN Files Challenge to Authorization of Covid Injections in 5- to 11-Year-Old Children

In a recent update, ICAN announced that its attorneys had filed a formal petition with the FDA demanding it revoke the emergency use authorization (EUA) it granted for the use of Covid-19 vaccines in 12- to 15-year-olds. As promised, ICAN has now filed another petition, this time demanding that the FDA revoke the EUA it granted for Pfizer’s and Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccines in children ages 5 to 11.

This 23-page petition, which contains 120 footnotes and over 1,600 pages of source materials, points out that the FDA’s grant of the EUA was illegal from the start since an emergency use authorization requires, first and foremost, the existence of an emergency, which there is definitively not when it comes to Covid-19 and children.

Moreover, the petition outlines in great detail all of grave flaws in the FDA’s benefit-risk assessment of these vaccines, which used flawed science and inaccurate numbers that, in each and every instance, functioned to overstate the benefit of these vaccines in children and heavily understated the risk of serious side effects.

The FDA is legally required to formally respond to ICAN’s petition. Forcing a formal response means the FDA, when its day of reckoning arrives, can never claim ignorance for its unethical and illegal conduct. When the FDA responds, we will keep you posted. Judge disqualfiies Fulton County DA from investigating alternate Trump elector

Judge Robert McBurney ruled that Willis had a conflict of interest in investigating Jones.

A superior court judge on Monday barred Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from conducting a criminal investigation into Republican state Sen. Burt Jones, who was on a list of alternate Georgia electors supporting President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney ruled that Willis had a conflict of interest in investigating Jones after she held a fundraiser in June for his Democratic election opponent. Jones is seeking the state's lieutenant governorship in November.

"This scenario creates a plain — and actual and untenable — conflict," McBurney wrote, according to The Hill. "Any decision the District Attorney makes about Senator Jones in connection with the grand jury investigation is necessarily infected by it."

Reports revealed last week that 11 of the 16 members of the alternate slate of Trump electors had become targets in a criminal probe as part of Willis' investigation into the Trump campaign's efforts to challenge the presidential election results in the state. A grand jury subpoenaed Georgia Republican Rep. Jodi Hice earlier this month over his involvement with Trump's effort.

Then-President Donald Trump narrowly lost Georgia to Democratic challenger Joe Biden in 2020. The narrow margin and irregularities in the counting process fueled accusations of voter fraud, which the Trump campaign demanded state officials investigate. Georgia Republicans Gov. Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger both drew significant criticism from Trump and his allies over their perceived mishandling of the 2020 election process.

Former Nudgee College principal Stephen McLaughlin attended school celebration despite allegations of child sexual abuse

A Christian Brother who was suspected by police of being a paedophile was able to attend a birthday party at exclusive Brisbane private school St Joseph's Nudgee College, despite his order being in negotiations to pay a settlement to one of his alleged victims.

Former college headmaster Stephen David McLaughlin, who had been the subject of unproven child abuse allegations in the 1990s and early 2000s, was photographed at the celebration for a former staff member at the school on May 31, 2017.

Some students from the college were present at an official welcome prior to the function that was then attended by McLaughlin, who had been boarding master at the school in the early 1980s before becoming College headmaster in 1988 and then leader of the Brother's Xavier province in 1996.

Nicknamed Stumpy by students, McLaughlin was investigated in the late 1990s and 2000s and in one case committed for trial on indecent dealing charges, but was never convicted in relation to allegations made by four alleged child abuse victims.

Some of the allegations revolved around the then Brother taking young children, often from single-parent families, to stay with him alone in Brisbane motels.

Investigating police found payment records showing McLaughlin paid for the motel stays using his credit card.

Two of the complainants had siblings who had attended Nudgee College.

At the time, McLaughlin denied all allegations and his legal team argued the complainants were unreliable and their statements contradictory.

But in early 2017, Brisbane solicitor Peter Deed, acting on behalf of one complainant from the late 1990s, approached the Christian Brothers seeking compensation for his client.

The complainant alleged that when he was a 15-year-old schoolboy in Brisbane he had been introduced to McLaughlin by self-confessed child molester and Nudgee old boy Dennis Norman Douglas in 1997, according to legal documents sighted by the ABC.

Verizon announced on Monday that they would no longer include One America News Network in their FIOS cable provider channel lineup.

Verizon said the negotiations with OANN was typical and usual and that OAN did not agree to “fair terms.”

OAN disagreed. The pro-Trump MAGA channel hosts told a different story insisting NOTHING was typical about the negotiations and Verizon did not even attempt to negotiate a contract.

Verizon is set to drop the right-wing One America News Network (OAN) from its channel lineup after the network and company failed to reach an agreement on a new contract.

Verizon said in a statement to The Hill that it will no longer have the rights to OAN after July 31, and the network will be removed from the television lineup.

“Our negotiation with OAN has been a typical, business as usual carriage negotiation like those that routinely happen between content distributors and content providers,” the statement reads.

Verizon said that the negotiations were based on economic considerations and that OAN did not agree to “fair terms.”

“Our company has long advocated for providing customers with the ability to choose what content they want to watch, and our Fios TV platform offers a wide and diverse choice of programming options, including a la carte options, that strive to meet our millions of customers’ various content needs and preferences,” Verizon said.

The development is a blow to OAN after DirecTV declined to renew its contract with the network in January.

China Approves HIV Drug For COVID Patients

China on Monday gave a conditional green light to repurpose a drug, which is typically used to threat certain HIV-1 virus infections, for "normal type" COVID infections, Reuters reports, citing the National Medical Products Administration.

The drug, Azvudine, is made by Genuine Biotech, was approved in July 2021 to treat specific HIV infections.

In a late-stage clinical trial, 40.4% of patients taking Azvudine showed improvement in symptoms seven days after first taking the drug, compared with 10.9% in the control group, Henan province-based Genuine Biotech said in a statement earlier this month, without providing detailed readings. -Reuters

"Normal type" COVID is defined as coronavirus infections which include signs of pneumonia, but where the patient hasn't progressed to a severe stage.

The drug's approval marks the latest step in China's shift from a "zero Covid" policy of lockdowns, to accepting that the virus is now endemic - and apparently can be treated with an AIDS medication.

The availability of effective COVID vaccines and treatments is crucial in laying the groundwork for China's potential pivoting from its "dynamic COVID zero" policy, which aims to eliminate every outbreak - however small - and relies on mass testing and strict quarantining. -Reuters

His retirement announcement from the company came days ago on Friday, July 22, following allegations of misconduct during his tenure as WWE CEO.

"The Company has made a preliminary determination that certain payments that Vince McMahon agreed to make during the period from 2006 through 2022 (including amounts paid and payable in the future), and that were not recorded in the WWE consolidated financial statements, should have been recorded as expenses in the quarters in which those agreements were made," the company wrote in an 8-K filed Monday.

The company is now slated to revise its financial statements to include the payments, according to the disclosure.

"While the Company continues to evaluate the impact on previously reported financial statements, the Company has preliminarily determined that, while the amount of Unrecorded Expenses was not material in any individual period in which the Unrecorded Expenses arose, the aggregate amount of Unrecorded Expenses would be material if recorded entirely in the second quarter of 2022. Accordingly, the Company currently anticipates that it will revise its previously issued financial statements to record the Unrecorded Expenses in the applicable periods for the years ended December 31, 2019, 2020 and 2021, as well as the first quarter of 2022, when it issues its financial statements for the second quarter of 2022," the filing reads.

Digital ID QR Code Now Required To Access Gas Pumps In Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka’s new president Ranil Wickremesinghe is enforcing a QR code digital ID program to access gas in an effort to ration fuel.

Sri Lankans must now comply with the new Fuel Quota policies requiring them to use their National Identity Card Numbers to apply for an assigned QR code to access a gas pump.

The Sri Lankan government is employing the country’s armed guards to enforce the QR code requirement.

As Counter Signal reports:

Sri Lankans will then be made to take turns to get fuel based on the last digit of their vehicle registration numbers. However, tourists and foreigners will be given priority to get fuel in Colombo (the largest city in Sri Lanka) — likely to avoid even more damage to Sri Lanka’s tourism industry.

Armed guards are reportedly assisting with implementing the QR code digital ID fuel rationing program. They were also previously deployed to gas stations and equipped with military-grade weapons to prevent those with “non-essential vehicles” from purchasing gas.

The policy was introduced by Sri Lankan Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera.

He often pushed the receipt of both initial vaccines and booster shots despite NIAID researchers discovering that natural immunity led to stronger antibody responses than the Moderna mRNA vaccine.
