After Reporter Asks Trump if He'll 'Testify Under Oath' for Mueller, He Stumps Her With Hillary Question
The president answered a few questions from a gaggle of White House reporters and then he turned around and asked one of his own.
The question stumped a CNN reporter.
CNN host Wolf Blitzer said their reporter, Pamela Brown, had an exchange with Trump over whether he would testify under oath about Russian collusion and obstruction of justice:
Unknown reporter: Are you going to talk to Mueller?
Trump: I’m looking forward to it, actually.
[Cross talk]
Trump: Just so you understand, there’s been no collusion whatsoever. There’s no obstruction whatsoever. And I’m looking forward to it. I do worry, when I look at the things that all you people don’t report about — with what’s happening — you know, when you take a look at five months' worth of missing texts, that’s a lot of missing texts. And, as I said yesterday, that’s prime time. So, you do sort of look at that and go “What’s going on?” You do sort of look at texts where they talk about insurance policies or insurance, they say the things, the kinds of things they’re saying, you’ve got to be concerned.
But I would love to do that and do it as soon as possible.
Brown: Do you have a date set, Mr. President?
Trump: I don’t know, no, I guess they’re talking about in two or three weeks. I would love to do it. You know again, it’s again, subject to my lawyers and all of that, but I would love to.
Brown: Would you do it under oath, Mr. President?
Trump: You mean like Hillary did it under — who said that?
Brown: I said that. Would you do it under oath?
Trump: (laughs) Oh, you said it. You did say it. You say a lot. Did Hillary do it under oath?
Brown: I have no idea [unintelligible].
Trump: I think you have an idea. Don’t you have an idea?
[crosstalk]
Trump: Wait, wait, wait. Do you not have an idea? You really not have an idea? I’ll give you an idea. She didn’t do it under oath.
[crosstalk]
Trump: And you know she didn’t do it under oath, right? If you didn’t know about Hillary …
