Hollywood would never dump tens of millions of dollars into a movie that in any way threatened the status quo. I strongly suspect that The Matrix was designed to control how we experience reality and spirituality.

Think, for example, of all the spiritual experiences we now associate with this Hollywood blockbuster. Would we experience those unexplainable events differently if we didn't call them a "glitch in the Matrix" and associate it with a movie? If we didn't have the "red pill" reference, what would we be using instead? Would that alternative be more effective at waking people up?

Not to mention the subtle push in the mainstream media to make us all believe we're all living in a computer simulation. They'd rather have us all believing we're being controlled by some buggy computer program than have us believing in more empowering and spiritual answers.

And as for the Wachowskis, well, they're probably a front. The Matrix was probably written by some team in a Tavistock or CIA boardroom for the purposes mentioned above.

It seems like one of the grand over-arching conspiracies is to keep the masses spiritually weak so that they can't threaten the status quo.

I suspect the cabal anticipated an awakening in the masses, and stuff like The Matrix was made many years in advance to help them get ahead of it.
