Shares of the Walt Disney Co. continued their free fall this week, dropping 9 percent to close Friday at $99.40 — the first time the stock has closed below $100 in more than two years. Disney shares took a significant beating this week following a major shake-up in the company’s executive suites. On Thursday, CEO Bob Chapek unexpectedly fired his presumed successor, Peter Rice, (snip) For the year, Disney shares are down a whopping 37 percent, making it the worst performer on the Dow Jones Industrial Average during the past 12 months. The last time Disney stock closed below $100 was in April 2020.
