Don't know why the Department of Justice has decided not to go forward with a phony prosecution of Meadows and Scavino; it's kind of unbelievable that they are actually pushing back against the committee. Navarro was just arrested because a grand jury can pretty much be set up to indict anyone. Hopefully the DOJ will also decline to prosecute Navarro as well, and the committee will collapse as a result.

HSI-led investigation leads to 25-year prison sentence for sexual exploitation of children by US Navy service member

 

 

NORFOLK, Va. – An investigation led by the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Washington, D.C. field office landed a Norfolk sailor in federal prison for 25 years followed by a lifetime of supervised release for sexually abusing a child.

 

According to the HSI investigation, Travis James Muckelroy, 27, used a social media platform to develop online relationships with children. On various occasions in April and September of 2021, Muckelroy instructed a 13-year-old girl and a 12-year-old girl to send him nude photographs or recordings of themselves engaging in sexual acts.

 

Muckelroy made these requests even after one of the girls informed him that she was the victim of rape. In addition to these young girls, Muckelroy used the same social media platform to communicate with at least three other suspected minors.

β€œMr. Muckelroy’s actions were beyond reprehensible, and the barbarity of his crimes is reflected in the severity of his sentence” said Acting Special Agent in Charge Brenda Nevano of HSI’s Washington, D.C. field office. β€œHSI Washington, D.C., will continue to work tirelessly to hold accountable anyone who attempts to bring harm to the citizens we have sworn to protect.”

 

At the time of his arrest, Muckelroy was an active-duty sailor assigned to the U.S.S Gerald R. Ford docked at U.S. Naval Station, Norfolk. Muckelroy had been serving as an aviation ordinance airman; he enlisted in the Navy in 2019.

 

HSI Washington, D.C., led the investigation with significant participation from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) Norfolk field office.

 

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by U.S. Attorney’s Offices and the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.

 

Anyone with information regarding the sexual exploitation of children is encouraged to provide their tips to law enforcement – HSI has a nationwide tip line to report crime by calling 1-866-DHS-2-ICE.

 

HSI is the principal investigative arm of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), responsible for investigating transnational crime and threats, specifically those criminal organizations that exploit the global infrastructure through which international trade, travel, and finance move. HSI’s workforce of over 10,400 employees consists of more than 7,100 special agents assigned to 220 cities throughout the United States, and 80 overseas locations in 53 countries. Adel, a Republican and the first woman elected as Maricopa County attorney, had been criticized over issues that included dismissal of 180 misdemeanor cases because charges were not filed before the statute of limitations expired.

 

She also faced scrutiny over whether an acknowledged alcohol abuse problem had affected her ability to do the job.

 

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey called Adel's death tragic.

 

β€œThe hearts and prayers of Arizonans are with Allister’s family, colleagues and close friends. May she rest In peace," Ducey said on Twitter.

 

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell, Adel's interim successor, said Adel's β€œmany years of service to our community leaves a legacy that impacted crime victims, first responders, and animals, just to name a few."

 

Adel was appointed to the office in October 2019 to fill a vacancy and she was elected to the office in November 2020.

 

She resigned in March, saying in a statement that winning the office had been an honor.

 

Adel underwent emergency surgery on election night in 2020 for a brain bleed. She was back on the job full-time by the following spring.

 

In August 2021, she went into rehabilitation for alcohol abuse, an eating disorder and other issues. In September, she confirmed she was working remotely from an out-of-state treatment facility.

 

Mitchell was among five criminal division chiefs in Adel's office who in February called into question Adel’s ability to do her job, saying she rarely was in the office, showed signs of being inebriated during phone calls and had not provided leadership.

 

Adel responded that she was not planning to resign and that she vehemently disagreed with their characterization of her.

 

Adel then faced tough criticism for the dismissal of the 180 misdemeanor cases that included people who had been charged with drunken driving, domestic violence, assaults and criminal damage.

 

Asked about the dismissals, Ducey had said leaders should take accountability for their actions and not blame their employees. Adel then apologized to the victims in those cases and said she took responsibility for what had happened in her office.

 

Adel’s office and the Phoenix Police Department also were criticized for a later-dismissed gang case brought against demonstrators at an October 2020 protest against police brutality.

 

Lawyers hired by the city to investigate said authorities didn’t have credible evidence to support the claim that protesters were members of an anti-police gang. Adel acknowledged that her office made mistakes in the case.

 

Adel is survived by her husband and two children.

β€œIf AAA borrows a car to Cars International and they have a customer, it was simply take the car across the street and sell it, and then later on give the profit back or not,” Nasir Khattak, who ran the longstanding AAA dealership, testified in a lawsuit. β€œThere was no documentation… If you go and try to dissect, you will not be able to make any sense out of them because there were many, dozens and dozens, of cars transferred between the two dealerships and between other people.”

Susan Crown, Lester’s daughter, sat on the board of Northern Trust, which gave Obama a sweetheart loan for purchase of a $1.65 million Georgian revival mansion in Chicago’s Hyde Park complete with a thousand-bottle wine cellar.

 

James Crown, who was the target of a congressional and criminal probe as chairman of the J.P. Morgan Chase & Company’s risk committee, was Obama’s fundraising chair in his 2004 campaign for the Senate.25

 

The Crowns’ investments in Obama paid off β€”General Dynamics’ revenues shot up to over $30 billion in 2016, a three-fold increase from 2000. The Crowns’ net worth doubled in the Obama years, causing the family to rise in the Forbes ranking to the 27th richest family in the United States.26

 

Penny Pritzker of the Pritzker banking dynastyβ€”ranked number 9 on the Forbes list with a fortune of $32.5 billionβ€”gave $500,000 to Obama’s second inaugurationβ€”earning her appointment as Obama’s Secretary of Commerce.

 

Pritzker had helped finance Obama from the beginning of his political career, having allegedly met him in the early 1990s when her kids were playing on a basketball team coached by Michelle Obama’s brother, Craig Robinson.

 

During Obama’s 2008 White House run, Pritzker served as the national chairwoman of his campaign finance team, which shattered fundraising records, and in the 2012 reelection effort, she was a top bundler.

 

The Pritzker familyβ€”which made its fortune through ownership of Hyatt hotelsβ€”had long ties to the CIA. They were leading depositors in the Bahamas-based Castle Bank, a CIA outfit founded by one of the CIA’s mob liaisons, Paul Helliwell, which specialized in off-shoring money.27

 

The Pritzkers were also war profiteers. In 1953, family patriarchs Jay and Robert Pritzker founded the Marmon Group, an industrial holding company which includes the subsidiary Marmon Aerospace and Defense which manufactures wires and cables for aerospace, military vehicles, combat systems, radar installations and naval shipboards.

 

The Pritzkersβ€”like the Crownsβ€”thus personally profited from Obama’s mammoth military budgets, which outstripped those of President Bush by an average of $18.7 billion per year, Obama’s naval buildup in the South China Sea and his overseeing more sales of military weaponry than any other presidentβ€”$60 billion more than President Bush.28

 

Conclusion

As the first Black president, Obama is often placed on a pedestal as a moral beacon and compared to such historic figures as Martin Luther King, Jr., and Nelson Mandela.

 

These comparisons are off base, as Obama is an opportunistic and often deceitful politician who has shown a lack of moral integrity throughout his career.

 

Obama’s deep ties to and support of the CIA and offshoot agencies like the NED fueled great foreign policy disasters which ravaged numerous countries.

 

After he left the presidency, Obama worked through his consigliΓ©re John Brennan to help conjure up the β€œRussia Gate” scandal, which revived Cold War-era demonologies, poisoned U.S.-Russia relations and greatly increased the threat of nuclear war.

 

Media outlets including those on the Left continue to perpetrate many myths about Obama and to assume a defensive posture in the face of right-wing attacks.

 

While these attacks may be nefarious, they should not preclude sober and critical analysis about America’s forty-fourth president and the dark forces behind his rise to power and reign.

The perpetrator of Wednesday's shooting was a patient of Phillips. The 45-year-old reportedly blamed the doctor for continued pain following his May back surgery.

 

In a note he left at the scene, the shooter "made it clear that he came in with the intent to kill Dr. Phillips and anyone who got in his way," according to Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin.

 

As of Wednesday, the WNBA has not offered a statement on Phillips' untimely death. Representatives for the Dallas Wings, the franchise formerly known as the Tulsa Shock, did not immediately reply to Insider's request for comment.

Three posts on Friday night signaled the resurfacing of a figure who used a variety of conspiracy theories to marshal support for Donald J. Trump.

After more than a year of silence, the mysterious figure behind the QAnon conspiracy theory has reappeared.

The figure, who is known only as Q, posted for the first time in over a year on Friday on 8kun, the anonymous message board where the account last appeared. β€œShall we play the game again?” a post read in the account’s typical cryptic style. The account that posted had a unique identifier used on previous Q posts.

The posts surprised disinformation researchers and signaled the ominous return of a figure whose conspiracy theories about an imaginary ring of elite sex traffickers marshaled support for then-President Donald J. Trump. Message boards and Telegram channels devoted to QAnon lit up with the news, as followers speculated about the meaning of Q’s return.

 

The QAnon conspiracy theory emerged in late 2017 from anonymous message boards where it quickly appealed to a large number of Trump supporters. Q published a series of cryptic messages about overthrowing an elite β€œcabal” of sex traffickers. Followers believed that Q had a role in the Trump administration or the military and that Mr. Trump was working to arrest and prosecute child abusers and Democrats.

 

The movement seemed to culminate in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. Some people who stormed the building wore QAnon T-shirts or held signs reading β€œQ sent me.” Polling around the time showed that one in five Americans believed the conspiracy theory.

When President Biden was sworn into office, it seemed clear that none of Q’s most fantastical and gruesome predictions β€” about Mr. Trump arresting and trying Democrats in a series of military tribunals and public executions β€” would come true. Q’s account stopped posting soon after Mr. Trump’s defeat in 2020.

While the QAnon community limped along in the months since Q’s disappearance, it seemed to bristle again this past week with a series of groundbreaking Supreme Court rulings, culminating Friday with a decision that ended the constitutional right to an abortion. To QAnon followers, the decision signaled a turning point for the country that could make Q’s predictions a reality.

β€œLeveraging social and cultural instability has kind of been a hallmark of QAnon for a very long time,” said Bond Benton, an associate professor at Montclair State University who has studied QAnon. β€œThis very much throws gasoline on the fire and leverages the fear that people have about the future.”

 

When an anonymous user on 8kun asked why Q was gone for so long, the account replied: β€œIt had to be done this way.”

 

The account posted a third time, writing: β€œAre you ready to serve your country again? Remember your oath.”

The return comes at an important time for one of QAnon’s leading figures: Ron Watkins, a 30-something computer programmer and a former administrator of 8kun who is widely believed to be the person behind Q. An HBO documentary tied him to the account, and two forensic analyses showed empirical similarities in their writing styles.

Mr. Watkins is running a long-shot bid for a congressional seat in Arizona’s second district. Strategists in the state expect that he will lose the race when the primary is held on Aug. 2 after raising little money and giving an awkward debate performance that failed to rouse Republican support.

Mr. Watkins has denied having any involvement with Q. He did not immediately return a request for comment on Saturday.

Daniela Peterka-Benton, an associate professor at Montclair State University who has also studied QAnon, cautioned against ascribing too much logic to Q’s return now, suggesting that the person’s goal is simply to β€œsee the world burn.”

β€œI don’t think this person has a plan,” she said. β€œBut I think they really enjoy that they have so much power.”

Allen, who was a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution prior to becoming president, used his official email account at the think tank for some of his Qatar-related communications, the affidavit says.

 

 

Qatar has long been one of Brookings’ biggest financial backers, though the institution says it has recently stopped taking Qatari funding.

Am I the only one that thinks this entire thing [both sides] are an enormous distraction? The judge by the name of Tan Ikram said, "You were a prison officer. I have no doubt you would have received training in relation to diversity and inclusion in that role.”

 

β€œYou undermined the confidence the public has in the police. Your behavior brings the criminal justice system as a whole into disrepute. You are there to protect the public and enforce the law. But what you did was the complete opposite."

 

The person who made a complaint about James Watt, left the group chat and posted screenshots on Twitter with the caption: "Former work colleague now serving police officer sent these in group chat. What hope is there in police in the UK sharing these."

 

When James' phone was seized for an investigation, it was revealed that James sent "grossly offensive" memes to multiple whatsapp groups and through Meta’s Messenger.

 

Watts was ordered to pay the complainant Β£75 compensation along with a Β£115 in court costs and a Β£128 victim surcharge.

 

Judge Ikram decided to dismiss the idea of a suspended sentence where he said "A message must go out and that message can only go out through an immediate sentence of imprisonment."

Doctors save baby after pregnant mother shot and killed in Philadelphia

Doctors were able to miraculously deliver a pregnant mother’s baby after she was fatally shot in Philadelphia early Saturday morning, cops said.

 

City police found the mother with a gunshot wound to the head on the street near Richmond Street and Wheatsheaf Lane in Port Richmond just after 1 a.m.

 

She was rushed to Temple University hospital after responders learned her unborn child was still alive at the scene, according to WCAU.

 

The unidentified woman, who was in her early 20s, was pronounced dead at the hospital just before 2 a.m., however doctor’s were able to save the baby.

 

It’s not clear how far along in her pregnancy she was at the time she was shot.

 

No arrests have been been made. Investigators said they believe the shooter is a man who was driving a black or blue Chevrolet Camaro or Dodge Charger.

Perhaps sensing this moment as an opportunity for an easy victory after his appalling leadership failure in dealing with the coronavirus pandemic, the president came down hard: hard on the governors and mayors he’d labeled as weak, the same ones he’d left to fend for themselves during the pandemic, and hard on the Americans in the streets against whom he is preparing to dispatch β€œthousands upon thousands of heavily armed soldiers, military personnel, and law enforcement.” At the end of his speech, offhandedly saying something about going to pay homage to a national shrine, the president departed back into the White House.

 

St. John’s Episcopal Church is one of the most historic churches in the United States, in which every president since James Madison has worshipped. It had been damaged the night before, when a fire had been contained in the basement with little damage. But on the afternoon of June 1, it was surrounded by members of the U.S. Secret Service, other law enforcement personnel, and soldiers. Tear gas was hanging in the air, with vomit still on the street from demonstrators overcome by gas and pepper spray. The debris of peaceful protesters attacked in the clearing operation littered the street. As it became clear where the president was headed, and as the reality of what was unfolding set in, a horrified nation looked on.

If you are right, but jam the truth down people's throats or mock and laugh at others, you will be deemed as unlikable and untrustworthy, and the content of your words will be doubted. People will spin all kinds of delusions and engage in massive amounts of cognitive dissonance in order to avoid agreeing with someone they do not like. These image boards have been successful and effective at bypassing our natural human tendencies in the past because they avoid the identity games. The moment you stop being anonymous, the moment someone names you, you name yourself, or you become identified by your past words, you fall prey to these tribal human patterns. It's hard to convince people of anything when they do not like you. It's even harder when humans gang up on each other and form "teams". You are then "guilty by association" and become responsible for not only your own words, but those of your "team". Every interaction then becomes an opportunity for confirmation bias, and the truth gets snuffed out.

The unclassified U.S. intelligence assessment released in January 2017 concluded with β€œhigh confidence” that Russian intelligence officers β€œrelayed material it acquired from the DNC and senior Democratic officials to WikiLeaks.” James Comey, then FBI director, testified last year that WikiLeaks did not communicate directly with the Russians but used β€œsome kind of cut-out.”

 

The Senate Intelligence Committee has been investigating Russian interference for more than a year, interviewing witnesses behind closed doors or in public. Meanwhile, special counsel Robert Mueller is spearheading the federal probe into Russian interference, which includes looking at whether there was collusion between President Trump’s campaign and Moscow.

 

Last month, Mueller indicted 12 Russians working for the GRU, Moscow’s military intelligence agency, in connection to cyberattacks against Democratic officials and systems used to administer elections in the United States.

 

It was also revealed last year that Donald Trump Jr., President Trump’s eldest son, communicated with WikiLeaks during the campaign.

 

WikiLeaks said that a letter from the committee requesting his testimony was delivered via the U.S. Embassy in London.

 

Assange has been holed up in Ecuador’s London embassy since 2012 evading extradition, but there has been recent speculation that Assange could soon be evicted.

 

Reports surfaced in April 2017 that U.S. officials were weighing charges against Assange under the Espionage Act.

 

WikiLeaks first attracted attention nearly a decade ago when it published classified files stolen by former U.S. Army soldier Chelsea Manning. WikiLeaks’s tweet on Wednesday also shared an opinion article arguing that Britain should reject an effort by the U.S. to extradite Assange.
