Donald J. Trump reTruthed…

Donald Trump Slams Biden for Sky-High Inflation: We’ve ‘Got to Get This Act in Order

President Donald Trump highlighted the “stark” economic contrast between his administration’s “amazing success” and President Joe Biden’s “breathtaking failure” while speaking at the Save America rally in Prescott Valley, Arizona, Friday night.

“You could take the five worst presidents in American history and put them together, and they would not have done the damage Joe Biden has done to our country in less than two short years,” Trump said early in his remarks, which were streamed by C-SPAN.

“Less than two years ago, when I was in office, gas — gasoline — a thing called gasoline … nobody wants to talk about, was $1.87 a gallon,” he continued. “And now it’s five, six, seven, and even in some places, eight and nine dollars a gallon.”

The 45th president then emphasized the contrast between the economic progress made during his time in office versus the unyielding sky-high inflation that has materialized under the leadership of the Biden administration:

We gave you the largest tax cuts and regulation cuts in American history. Even larger than the Regan tax cuts that once held the record by a lot, actually. The radical Democrats intend to impose the largest tax hike in American history. That’s what they want to do. They think raise taxes is a wonderful thing so they can waste it on things like the Green New Deal.

Under the Trump Administration, we had the greatest economy in the history of the world with no inflation, no inflation. Biden created the worst inflation in 47 years… 9.1 percent, but the actual number is much, much higher than that. It’s going higher and higher all the time. It’s costing families nearly $6,000 a year, bigger than any tax increase ever proposed other than the tax increase that they want to propose right now, good luck with that.

Trump turned his attention to the workforce, pointing out that his administration produced “7 million new jobs with lowest unemployment rates for Americans,” adding:

We had the best rates ever, we had the lowest rates of unemployment for Americans, and for African Americans, we had the best numbers, and for Hispanic Americans, we had the best numbers, and for Asian Americans, we had the best numbers ever in recorded history,” the 45th President said.

He then blasted Biden, noting that “there are still four million people who have not returned to the labor force,” adding that “real wages are collapsing,” and the country is on the precipice of “stagflation.”

“We got to get this act in order, we have to get this country going, or we’re going to have a serious problem,” he concluded.

Robin Vos has done a terrible thing to Wisconsin. Election Integrity seems to mean nothing to him, despite a sweeping Wisconsin Supreme Court Victory. It was a RIGGED Election. A lot of people will be voting against Vos on Tuesday, and for very good reason. A do nothing RINO!!!

Mitch McConnell faces rare defeat as U.S. Senate Democrats forge climate, drug bill

July 28, 20227:55 PM UTCLast Updated 17 hours ago

WASHINGTON, July 28 (Reuters) - U.S. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell, whose legislative skills have torpedoed many Democratic priorities, suffered a rare defeat himself this week, when Democrats thwarted his plan to block their new $430 billion drugs and energy bill.

McConnell, who has spent nearly half his 80 years in the Senate, had vowed to deny bipartisan support for a sweeping bill to subsidize the U.S. semiconductor industry as long as Democrats pursued major legislation to battle climate change and lower the price of prescription drugs.

But hours after McConnell and 16 other Republicans voted to pass the semiconductor legislation, known as the "CHIPS" bill, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and fellow Democrat Joe Manchin surprised McConnell with a new climate and drugs package.

Republicans were led to believe Democrats had abandoned the climate and drugs bill. Under Senate rules, this bill can pass without Republican support so long as all 50 Democrats in the 100-member Senate back it.

"McConnell got McConnelled," said Brookings Institution senior fellow William Galston, noting the Kentucky Republican's long use of hardball tactics to block Democratic initiatives, including former President Barack Obama's appointment of a Supreme Court justice in 2016.

McConnell sidestepped questions about the political maneuver but told Reuters in a brief interview that Democrats would regret moving forward on the legislation. Among other things, the legislation sets a 15% minimum tax rate on corporations and promotes electric vehicles.

"It's an unmitigated disaster for the country and we're going to fight it as hard as we can," McConnell said.

'THEY STIFFED US'

With the country facing inflation and President Joe Biden, a Democrat, deeply unpopular, Republicans hope to recapture control of the House of Representatives, and perhaps the Senate, in the Nov. 8 midterm congressional elections.

"The game's not over yet, and I'm betting on Leader McConnell," Senator Roger Marshall said.

Other Republicans stopped short of blaming McConnell for the Democratic Party success.

"They stiffed us on this," Senator John Thune, the chamber's No. 2 Republican, told reporters.

"The representations made by Democrats led our members to believe that this idea of a big reconciliation bill with lots of taxes was dead, which is what freed up at least some of our members to work on the CHIPS bill," he said.

Manchin, for his part, rejected that idea.

"I certainly hope they don't feel that way," he told reporters. "Under normal times both parties would have worked together on something like this."

LITTLE RECOURSE FOR MCCONNELL

Several Republicans acknowledged that their best chance to defeat the legislation may depend on whether any Democrats get cold feet about raising taxes while the United States may be on the brink of recession. read more

With the Senate split 50-50 and Vice President Kamala Harris casting the tie-breaker, Democrats cannot afford to lose a single vote.

Some critics faulted McConnell for not obtaining a commitment from Schumer not to pursue the other bill.

"It was a serious mistake how we handled that," said Republican Senator Ted Cruz, a prominent conservative who did not mention McConnell by name.

McConnell's standing as Senate Republican leader faltered somewhat over differences with Biden's predecessor, Republican former President Donald Trump. Some Trump allies now vying for the Senate have vowed not to support McConnell for leader in the next Congress, which begins in January.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said McConnell needs to have a good working relationship with Trump.

"You're not going to be leader if you don't have a working relationship with Trump," Graham told Reuters on Thursday.

Internal GOP tension rises as McConnell's deal-making puts him at odds with McCarthy

Splitsville: McConnell and McCarthy break on big votes

07/28/2022 04:53 PM EDT

Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell regularly meet to coordinate their management of Republicans in the House and Senate. You wouldn’t know it from their voting records.

Congress’ two GOP leaders split yet again this week on a bill intended to stoke domestic microchip manufacturing, on top of a bevy of past fissures that include infrastructure, gun safety and whether to embrace former President Donald Trump after the Jan. 6 Capitol attack.

McConnell and 16 other Senate Republicans voted for the microchips bill mere hours before Democrats struck a deal on a party-line climate, tax and health care package that Republican leaders were trying to kill — and thought was dead. It raised suspicions among some lawmakers in both chambers that the Senate GOP got played.

“We got our ass kicked. It’s just that simple,” said Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.). “Looks to me like we got rinky-doo’d. That’s a Louisiana word for ‘screwed.’ And we got our ass kicked. That’s the way my people back home see it.”

The Mayor of Washington, D.C., wants the National Guard to help with the thousands of Illegal Immigrants, coming from the insane Open Border, that are flooding the City, but refused National Guard help when it came to providing Security at the Capitol Building for a far larger crowd on January 6th. Figure that one out?
