Aleksandar Vucic has urged Pristina and Western powers to avoid conflict, but vowed to use force if Serbs are persecuted

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has issued a plea for peace in Kosovo amid rising tensions with Pristina. However, he also vowed to fight to the death if ethnic Serbs in the self-proclaimed republic are targeted for another pogrom.

“The atmosphere has been heated up, and the Serbs will not suffer any more atrocities,” Vucic said in Belgrade on Sunday. “My plea to everyone is to try to keep the peace at almost any cost. I am asking the Albanians to come to their senses, the Serbs not to fall for provocations, but I am also asking the representatives of powerful and large countries, which have recognized the so-called independence of Kosovo, to pay a little attention to international law and reality on the ground and not to allow their wards to cause conflict.”

Vucic’s comments came as Pristina prepared to implement a controversial law requiring ethnic Serbs living in the disputed territory to replace their Serbian-issued vehicle registrations with Kosovo plates, starting on Monday. Kosovo also may require the replacement of other types of Serbian-issued documents, such as identification cards, and it will make a renewed attempt to ban entry or issue temporary papers to travelers with Serbian-issued documents or license plates.

Church bells rang in alarm across the northern part of the province on Sunday, amid reports that armed ethnic Albanians were gathering for another pogrom of the remaining Serbs – as had happened in 2004.

The Serbian president claimed last month that the registration policy was part of an effort to force remaining Serbs out of Kosovo. He referred to the move as “a new Storm,” in reference to the Croatian military operation in 1995 that forced most Serbs to flee Croatia.

Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic told reporters on Saturday that “the Albanian side in Kosovo and Metohija is literally preparing to raise hell for Serbs.”

Kosovo’s prime minister Albin Kurti, an ethnic Albanian, has denied that the transition to non-Serbian documents is anything more than applying “law and justice” equally to all citizens.

“Trust your government,” he said in a videotaped message in Serbian.

Vucic has claimed that “provocations” against Serbs living in Kosovo have increased since Kurti, a nationalist who champions the idea of Albanian unification, became prime minister last year. The number of such incidents, including attacks by ethnic Albanians on Serbian cemeteries and Orthodox churches, has jumped 50%, he told reporters on Sunday.

“We do not want conflicts and we do not want war,” Vucic said in his speech. “We will pray for peace and seek peace, but let me tell you right away: There will be no surrender, and Serbia will win. If they dare to start persecuting, harassing and killing Serbs, Serbia will win.”

Vucic also speculated that Pristina is trying to take advantage of the Ukraine crisis by provoking a conflict in which Kurti would be portrayed sympathetically as Kosovo’s version of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, with the Serbs cast in the role of Russia and President Vladimir Putin.

NATO occupied Kosovo in 1999, after a 78-day air war against what was then Yugoslavia. The province declared independence in 2008, with Western support. While the US and most of its allies have recognized it, Serbia, Russia, China and the UN in general have not.

‘Experts’ Now Warn Cold Showers Are Causing Heart Attacks In Young Adults

I don’t know if you have heard, but many healthy young adults are developing heart issues, and some are suffering heart attacks from this. It is so sad to hear these stories and, unfortunately, no one can seem to figure all this out.

If you did a google search a month ago for the benefits of cold showers, you would find many links to videos and studies that show how good they can be for you. Heck, at Eatthed*mnsalad, we have written about it. I use a cold shower on a daily basis for many of the benefits. Cold showers and ice baths have been used by athletes for a LONG time to recover from hard workouts. There are many studies that show cold water will help your immune system, which is something we all could use. Now, I’m sure the caveat is that if you have heart issues, don’t jump into an ice bath or have the water at the coldest level. Just as if you have heart issues, don’t go out and run a marathon, start with a half-mile walk.

The reason I bring this up is if you google “cold shower” today, you are going to find that cold showers could be the cause of the rise in heart attacks in the youth. Interesting, as I’m sure our media will soon be jumping all over this and investigating cold showers as the main cause of all the heart problems. We may even see the leading health experts interviewed and warning us not to partake in this deadly habit! I’ll make the popcorn as I know this will be interesting.

For me, I will continue this daily habit as I know the benefits are incredible for my health.

Some health experts warned that sudden exposure to cold water could be fatal, particularly for those who already have heart conditions, claiming that it can lead to a heart attack or heart rhythm irregularities.

Cold water can shock the body, causing blood vessels in the skin to contract. This can slow the blood flow in your body. To compensate for this, your heart will start beating faster to be able to pump blood around the body. This can also increase the pressure on your blood vessels.

Even if someone is healthy, fit or young, cold water can trigger a heart attack by causing vasoconstriction (tightening of muscles around your blood vessels). Research has found that this usually happens in the hot weather, when people are more eager to immediately step into a cold water shower.

This risk was first identified in a study published in the journal of Physiology, which explained that sudden submersion in cold water is harmful to our body. It can lead to a series of neurogenic cardio-respiratory responses, called the cold shock response. It can lead to gasping, hyperventilation, breathlessness, and panic. This can trigger abnormal rhythms in the heart, and lead to a heart attack.

There has been a shocking spike in unexplained deaths reported in the past year among 18-49 year-olds in the US.

The term “Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome” (also known as “SADS”) refers to a sudden and unexpected death that occurs in adolescents and adults, typically during sleep caused by cardiac arrest, for which there is no evident explanation that can be established.

Putin signs new Russian naval doctrine

The revised document reflects “geopolitical change” and seeks to strengthen the force’s resilience

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday gave his approval to a revised naval doctrine that takes into account the “change in the geopolitical and military-strategic situation in the world.”

The signing ceremony took place in the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg in the Peter and Paul Fortress, just before the start of the Navy Day parade. The president also signed a decree to approve the ship charter of the Russian Navy.

The revised doctrine outlines the main “challenges and threats” Russia is facing in the naval sphere, namely “the strategic course of the US to dominate in the world oceans” and the encroachment of “NATO military infrastructure” toward the country’s borders. Other challenges include “attempts by certain nations” to change the existing legal rules regulating sea routes and straits, as well as the spread of terrorism, piracy and trafficking of highly illegal goods in the high seas.

The document outlines the “risks” facing Russia’s naval activities, such as “lacking” the participation of the country’s merchant fleet in global cargo flow, the dependency of trade on freight vessels and undersea pipelines, foreign sanctions and “suddenly emerging and hard to predict” pandemics of dangerous diseases. Also included among the risks is the lack of overseas naval re-supply points and bases. However, the doctrine envisions the creation of such a facility in the Red Sea.

The ultimate goal of Russia is to further develop in its role as a great naval power and reinforce its position among other such nations, according to the doctrine. The document outlines expanding both the merchant fleet and navy, and envisions, among other things, the construction of aircraft carriers.

Back in May, Yury Borisov, then-deputy prime minister, explained that amid the ongoing military operation in Ukraine and “all-out hybrid war” launched by the West against Moscow, “building up capabilities to ensure and protect national interests in the world oceans” is vital for Russia.

“The adjusted Naval Doctrine takes into account the change in the geopolitical and military-strategic situation in the world,” the official said back then.

At the same time, Borisov, who was recently appointed as head of the Russian space agency, Roscosmos, stressed that the new version of the doctrine is not aimed at confrontation but rather seeks to strengthen national maritime security and significantly reduce the Navy's dependence on external factors and market conditions.

Russia's naval doctrine was first adopted in 2001. Its previous version, which had been amended to reflect the expansion of NATO and accession of Crimea to Russia, was approved by Putin in July 2015. It provided for an increase in the Russian fleet’s presence in the Arctic, the Black and Mediterranean Seas, as well as in the Atlantic Ocean.

Israel's War On Cash Is About To Get More Drastic

Starting Monday, it will be a criminal offense in Israel to pay more than the equivalent of $1,700 in cash to a business or $4,360 in cash to individual, as the government intensifies its ongoing war on tangible money.

It's a war that began in earnest with the 2018 passage of the Law for the Reduction in the Use of Cash. Israeli businesses and individuals began facing limits on cash transactions in January 2019. However, on Aug 1, those limits are being slashed nearly in half.

“We want the public to reduce the use of cash money,” Tamar Bracha, who's responsible for carrying out the law for Israel’s Tax Authority, told The Media Line.

“The goal is to reduce cash fluidity in the market, mainly because crime organizations tend to rely on cash. By limiting the use of it, criminal activity is much harder to carry out.”

Israel also limits the extent to which cash is used in transactions involving multiple payment methods. If the total transaction value is more than the above thresholds, cash may only be used for 10% of the purchase. Car purchases are given a higher, 50,000 NIS (New Israeli Shekels) limit – about $14,700.

Violators are subject to penalties that can reach 25% of the transaction for individuals and 30% for businesses. According to Israel National News, the government has amassed the equivalent of $5 billion in fines since restrictions began in 2019.

Not all transactions are affected, as The Media Line explains:

There are some exemptions to the new law: charitable institutions, which are most common in ultra-Orthodox society; and trade with Palestinians from the West Bank, who are not citizens of Israel. In the case of the latter, deals including large amounts of cash will be allowed, yet they will require a detailed report to Israel’s Tax Authority.

However, in Israel's phased approach to eliminating cash from society, those exceptions are destined to expire.

Next, Israel's finance ministry plans to deliver a proposal to parliament to criminalize the mere possession of cash exceeding a certain sum. One version of the proposal set the possession cap at the shekel equivalent of just $14,700.

Banana Boat Sunscreen Recalled Nationwide Due to Cancer-Causing Chemical

Some Banana Boat sunscreens have been recalled owing to unexpected levels of benzene, a cancer-causing chemical.

The nationwide voluntary recall issued by Edgewell Personal Care Company refers to three batches of Banana Boat Hair & Scalp Sunscreen Spray SPF 30.

“An internal review found that some samples of the product contained trace levels of benzene. While benzene is not an ingredient in any Banana Boat products, the review showed that unexpected levels of benzene came from the propellant that sprays the product out of the can,” according to a release from the company on July 29.

“Importantly, no other batches of Hair & Scalp (either before or after these batch codes) and no other Banana Boat products are in the scope of this recall and may continue to be used by consumers safely and as intended,” the announcement reads.

The lot codes of the recalled products, located at the bottom of the can, are 20016AF, 20084BF, and 21139AF.

The sunscreen sprays, which are packaged in aerosol cans, were distributed nationwide across the United States through multiple retailers. Edgewell has notified retailers to remove the recalled products from shelves.

People who purchased any of the recalled products will be offered reimbursement by Banana Boat.

“Consumers should stop using the affected product immediately and appropriately discard,” the company said.

Benzene has been classified as a human carcinogen. It exists as a colorless or light yellow liquid at room temperature, and has a sweet odor. It is highly flammable.

People can be exposed to the chemical via inhalation, orally, and via the skin. It can potentially result in cancers, including leukemia and blood cancer of the bone marrow. It can also result in blood disorders which can kill.

“To date, Edgewell has not received any adverse events related to this recall. Benzene is ubiquitous in the environment,” the company said. “Humans around the world have daily exposures to it indoors and outdoors from multiple sources. Daily exposure to benzene in the recalled products would not be expected to cause adverse health consequences according to an independent health assessment using established exposure modeling guidelines.”

This recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The New York Times's David Leonhardt characterizes it as "a violence problem that has no equivalent on the left." You might even have glanced at the reports these articles often cite from the Anti-Defamation League. Over the past decade, the ADL has counted about 450 murders committed by domestic political extremists, with 29 occurring just last year. It reports the overwhelming majority were committed by people with ties to various right-wing groups.

Senator brands explosion at Black Sea Fleet headquarters as terrorist attack

Senator from the republic of Crimea Olga Kovitidi branded the incident with the explosion on the territory of the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol on Navy Day as a terrorist attack.

On Sunday morning, a low-powered explosive device mounted on a makeshift drone went off at the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol. As the governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev reported, six people were injured as a result of the explosion, two of them are in average condition. Celebrations planned in the city for the Russian Navy Day have been canceled due to security concerns.

New Jersey councilwoman refuses to resign over video showing alleged hit-and-run crash with cyclist

Shocking video shows the moments a New Jersey councilwoman allegedly plowed down a bicyclist while speeding through an intersection and kept going in an apparent hit-and-run accident.

Jersey City Councilwoman Amy DeGise is accused of failing to slow or stop her car after striking the cyclist at the intersection of Forrest Street and Martin Luther King Drive last week.

Traffic camera video released by city officials on Tuesday afternoon shows the black SUV allegedly driven by DeGise striking a man on a bicycle in the middle of the intersection on July 19 without ever slowing down before leaving the scene.

The man, wearing a helmet, backpack, yellow shirt and jean shorts, flipped over and slides off the windshield and then onto the pavement after the impact. The video shows him slowly getting up afterward, his mangled bike lying on the opposite side of the street.

The cyclist, identified as 29-year-old Andrew Black, told police he had a green light and the right of way, NJ.com reported, citing a crash report. In an interview with HudPost.com, Black reiterated that he had the right of way and said he suffered deep bruising and anxiety crossing the street after the incident.

WNBC reported that officials later said Black was mistaken, and he did not have the green light, but DeGise is still facing mounting calls to resign because she still did leave the crash scene.

"[That] someone of prestige would fall to a point where they would ignore the law they are demanding to uphold, and they are trying to clean our streets or whatever they are calling it, they can’t even do it themselves — that really upsets me," Black told HudPost on Tuesday.

Despite facing criticism, a spokesperson for DeGise told news outlets on Friday that the councilwoman would not resign.

"Councilwoman DeGise was elected overwhelmingly just a few months ago and she has no intention of walking away from the commitment she made to serve the people of Jersey City. She will not resign and plans to complete her full term and continue in public service," DeGise's spokesman, Phil Swibinski, said in a statement obtained by Patch.com.

Retired U.S. general says new pandemic declaration on 'predicted schedule'

Two retired U.S. generals, MG Paul Vallely of the Army and Thomas McInerney of the Air Force are raising the alarm about the World Health Organization declaring monkeypox a global health emergency following the agency's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Valley said that despite the WHO's declaration, people should not be alarmed about monkeypox, which primarily affects gay and bisexual men. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed more than 22,000 monkeypox cases globally as of Friday.

"Although the declaration does not impose requirements on national governments, it serves as an urgent call for action. The WHO can only issue guidance and recommendations to its member states, not mandates. Member states are required to report events that pose a threat to global health," Vallely told The Epoch Times.

"Beware of this politically driven global organization that is funded by the global elite," he said.

The WHO declared monkeypox an international public health emergency on July 23, with WHO Director-General Adhanom Ghebreyesus saying the virus "has spread around the world rapidly, through new modes of transmission, about which we understand too little."

"WHO Director Tedros is not a medical doctor, he is a Marxist from Ethiopia, totally supported by the Chinese Communist Party. He lied about C-19 from the beginning to cover for China," Valley criticized the WHO leader.

Congressional Republicans have accused Tedros for more than two years of siding with China during the pandemic.

McInerny said they thought another pandemic would be declared around now.

"They are right on our predicted schedule," McInerney explained, going on to stress his defiance against pandemic restrictions.

"We shall not conform to their guidelines, we must resist lockdowns… now is the time for America and the world and we the people to say no!" he said. "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me!"

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said Sunday that he expects there to be an agreement to conceal an indictment of Hunter Biden.

Johnson predicted in a Fox News interview that law enforcement “may indict Hunter Biden, but they’ll probably seal—they’ll do a deal—they’ll seal all the information. The American public will never get the full truth.”

Both Johnson and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) have been involved in a yearslong investigation into the business dealings of President Joe Biden’s son in places like China, Ukraine, and elsewhere. The pair released a report in September 2020 that detailed extensive financial connections between Chinese Communist Party-linked entities and individuals and Hunter Biden.

“We’ve known that the Bidens are a corrupt family for years,” Johnson asserted to Fox News’ Dan Bongino, adding that the “corrupt mainstream media has been covering it all up” and “even the FBI.” Johnson also predicted that legacy news outlets will now turn on Biden amid increasingly low poll numbers.

In March, both Republican senators presented bank records on the Senate floor showing CEFC China Energy, a now-defunct firm, made payments to Hunter Biden. That included a $100,000 wire payment to one of the younger Biden’s companies, Owasco, from CEFC.

After dropping the large stack of absentee ballot envelopes into the drop box, they leave the camera’s view as they appear to walk into the Heilmann satellite voting center, where voter registration and in-person early voting are taking place. Many people who’ve viewed this footage had questioned why the women stopped at the drop box to deposit their absentee envelopes when they appeared to be making a trip into the voting center? Why didn’t they just take the ballots inside with them? In the following clip that we’ve included in this video, the women are seen leaving the satellite voting center with a large stack of white paper (blank ballots?) carried by the woman in the green sweater as they walk back to their vehicle in the parking lot.

Note that throughout the video, both women who are OUTDOORS are wearing face masks, but when they get back inside the vehicle, the woman wearing the scrubs, who is also the driver, can be seen pulling the face mask down below her chin as they exit the parking lot. Is she removing her face mask because COVID is less transmissible inside a vehicle when she’s in close proximity with the passenger than when she was walking outdoors to the ballot drop box? Or is the mask just a great way to cover their faces as they drop a large stack of what appears to be absentee ballots into a drop box with surveillance cameras positioned above?

And True the Vote and Gregg Phillips identified tens of thousands of illegal ballot trafficked votes in their documentary “2000 Mules.”

But that won’t stop Democrats from pushing the ballot drop boxes and their illegal ballot trafficking schemes.
