IRS Stockpiles More Than 5 Million Rounds of Ammunition

Apparently, the IRS needs a little firepower to help with those audits.

The IRS has stockpiled five million rounds of ammunition and spent $725,000 on bullets this year, according to Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, who has introduced a bill to block future ammunition purchases by the agency.

The Republican lawmaker announced his sponsorship of the Disarm the IRS Act in a July press release. The bill would ban the IRS from acquiring ammunition through direct purchase or otherwise. The bill awaits a potential vote in the House Ways and Means Committee.

Cosponsors of the bill included three additional U.S. House of Representative members: Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.), Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), and Marjorie Taylor Green (R-Ga.).

The issue drew national attention after Gaetz appeared on Fox News’ Jesse Waters Primetime last week, saying that the IRS had spent $750,000 in 2022 alone on ammunition.

“Call me old-fashioned, but I thought the heaviest artillery an IRS agent would need would be a calculator, not $725,000 worth of ammunition,” Gaetz said during his appearance on Fox News.

Other bill cosponsors took to social media, questioning the need for a heavily armed tax agency.

“Why is Biden trying to weaponize the IRS?” Rep. Jeff Duncan posted on Twitter on July 7, adding that while the IRS builds up its arsenal, citizen Americans face ammunition shortages.

Rep. Gosar commented on Twitter July 14 that it was time to disarm “this band of highwaymen and stop them from taking our money under the threat of violence.”

ICE Captures High-Ranking MS-13 Leader In Maryland

BALTIMORE — Deportation officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Baltimore Task Force Unit arrested a high-ranking member of the notorious MS-13 street gang in Annapolis, June 15. ERO Baltimore’s Fugitive Operations and the FBI assisted with the apprehension.

Jose Mojica Aldana, a native and citizen of El Salvador, was arrested near his residence. Mojica Aldana entered the United States without being inspected, admitted, or paroled by an immigration officer.

“This is a significant arrest and a substantial hit to MS-13 in the Annapolis area,” said Lyle Boelens, field office director of the ERO Baltimore office. “Not only is Mojica Aldana a high-ranking member of the gang, but he is also accused of numerous murders in El Salvador. ICE ERO Baltimore will continue to work tirelessly with our partner law enforcement agencies to keep the law-abiding citizens of Maryland safe from predators like Mojica Aldana.”

On May 18, ERO Baltimore received information that Mojica Aldana was living in the greater Annapolis area and had ties to the criminal gang MS-13. Mojica Aldana had been charged with homicide in El Salvador in 2017. Further investigation revealed that Mojica Aldana is a validated MS-13 gang member and is part of the MS Fulton Locos Salvatruchos clique, a subset of the MS-13 street gang, that operates in the Annapolis area.

Records checks revealed that on March 6, 2017, the National Civil Police of El Salvador issued an arrest warrant for Mojica Aldana for homicide. Upon further investigation, ICE ERO Baltimore determined that Mojica Aldana was a high-ranking member of MS-13 and a leader in their Fulton Locos Salvatrucha clique.

Military Conducts Exercises For Hypersonic Missile Attack, Fallout On US Cities

A recent military training exercise prepared troops to assist after possible hypersonic missile attacks on US cities.

Hundreds of military personnel and emergency responders gathered in Philadelphia last week to simulate the aftermath of a simultaneous hypersonic missile attack on Philadelphia, New York City and Chicago, the authorities said army time. Exercise Dense Urban Terrain (DUT) imagines a hypothetical scenario that the military is calling “America’s Worst Day.” Rescue workers and soldiers helped at least 150 role-players, who wore fake wounds and acted out possible symptoms of an unknown chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear (CBRN) attack.

The DUT exercise was led by the Army National Guard’s Task Force 46, which consists primarily of Michigan National Guard soldiers. According to the Guard, over 600 additional employees from federal, state, local, university and private partners participated in the three-day exercise.

“This is an opportunity to train firsthand with some of the best first responders in the world who do this every day,” said Col. Chris McKinney, chief of staff for Task Force 46, the Army National Guard army time.

Task Force 46 was established in 2013 and has been orchestrating the annual DUT exercises since 2018, with some recent iterations including training related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Previous exercises focused on simulated CBRN attacks have taken place in Detroit, Michigan, New York City and Indiana.

“We actually did this mission in several different locations, but in Philadelphia specifically, we’re learning to work in the different environments across the country,” said Army Sergeant Whitney Smart, a non-commissioned officer in charge of medical oversight during the exercise. said in a Michigan National Guard video.

“The terrain will be very different so it’s important that we train and be prepared for all types of terrain,” she added. “Philadelphia definitely presents us with a challenge when it comes to working in a limited space.”

In addition to playing out scenarios involving the rescue of role-players trapped in collapsed buildings or subways following hypersonic missile attacks, troops and rescuers deployed detection and decontamination equipment to deal with the aftermath of a potential CBRN fallout.
