China reacts to Pelosi landing in Taiwan

The US house speaker’s visit is a violation of the ‘One China’ policy and the country’s sovereignty, Beijing says

This is a distraction to whats really happening

“This is a serious violation of the one-China principle and the provisions of the three China-US joint communiqués. It has a severe impact on the political foundation of China-US relations, and seriously infringes upon China's sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The visit of the top official “undermines peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait, and sends a seriously wrong signal to the separatist forces for ‘Taiwan independence’,” the ministry added, urging Washington not to “go further down the wrong and dangerous path.”

The ministry also warned of unspecified “measures” Beijing was set to take in light of Pelosi’s visit, squarely blaming the potential consequences of it on Washington.

“China will definitely take all necessary measures to resolutely safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity in response to the U.S. Speaker’s visit. All the consequences arising therefrom must be borne by the U.S. side and the ‘Taiwan independence’ separatist forces,” it said.

China firmly opposes and sternly condemns this, and has made serious démarche and strong protest to the United States.

Following days of uncertainty over her visit, Pelosi touched down on the island late on Tuesday in spite of repeated warnings from Beijing against the visit. The island nation, regarded by Beijing as an integral part of China, was not listed among the official destinations of the speaker’s Asian tour, which included Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, and Japan.

I’d suggest this is distraction with what Bidan et al are implementing in the US right now. Call to dig on recent activities of the Admin, USAG, FBI, DEA, ATF, etc. I have a feeling what is happening right in our country is massive corruption and coordination to go after American citizens. Maybe more Ministry of Truth disinfo.

Maybe some big deal Bidan is making with China that no one knows about.

US responsible for Ukrainian ‘war crimes’ – Russian MoD

Advising Ukraine on what to strike with US-supplied arms makes Washington complicit in committing atrocities, Moscow argues

Washington bears “political, criminal, and moral responsibility” for “war crimes”committed by the Ukrainian military, Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Tuesday. The statement came in response to an interview by a top Ukrainian spy, who revealed that Kiev consults with Washington before using US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems and that Washington actually has veto power over decision-making.

“All this irrefutably proves that Washington, contrary to the statements of the White House and the Pentagon, is directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine. It is the Biden administration that is directly responsible for all the Kiev-approved missile attacks on residential areas and civilian infrastructure in the settlements across Donbass and other regions that caused mass civilian casualties,”Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov has said.

According to Moscow, US-supplied HIMARS systems have repeatedly been used by Kiev forces to target facilities that were not legitimate military targets. Arguably the most dire recent example of this strategy was an attack on a penal colony in Elenovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, which was housing Ukrainian POWs, including fighters with the notorios neo-Nazi Azov regiment. The attack left at least 50 prisoners dead and another 73 injured.

“The Biden administration, together with Zelensky, bears political, criminal, and moral responsibility for the massacre in Elenovka and other war crimes in Ukraine,”Konashenkov said.

The explosive interview with a Ukrainian senior intelligence official, Major General Vadim Skibitsky, was published by The Telegraph newspaper on Monday. The spy revealed Kiev’s troops were getting feedback from Washington and London before launching HIMARS rockets. This allows “Washington to stop any potential attacks if they were unhappy with the intended target,” The Telegraph noted.

Pelosi’s trip to Taiwan is designed by US to start conflict – analyst to RT

Speaker’s visit to the island against Beijing’s opposition is like China sending troops to Puerto Rico, the expert argues

Senior US officials have dismissed the possible visit to Taiwan by the Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi as of no significance and stated that if China acts to oppose it, the ensuing conflict would be Beijing’s fault. But researcher Tim Anderson told RT, the move appears to be a pre-planned provocation meant to trigger a major confrontation with China.

They say ‘this is China’s war’ as they said Ukraine was Russia’s war,” he said, referring to Moscow’s failed effort to get security guarantees from the US before it launched a military attack against its neighbor in late February.

Anderson, who heads a think tank promoting anti-imperialism research called the Centre for Counter Hegemonic Studies, considers Pelosi’s trip as an obvious American ploy. Some US politicians are feeling “jealous” about China’s rise and are willing to sacrifice any benefits that America reaps from trade with the country to try to undermine Beijing, he said.

Pelosi “is going in there with a military escort, there are a number of large warships going with her,” he noted, referring to the reported deployment by the US Navy to ensure the safety of the congressional delegation.

Considering that Washington formally recognized Taiwan as part of China, the move can be considered a “military incursion” into Chinese territory, Anderson suggested.

“Imagine if the Chinese military went into Puerto Rico or some other part of the US territories. It’s unacceptable, and I can’t say that any good would come out of it,” he said.

It remains to be seen what China’s reaction will be to Pelosi’s trip, but the more alarming predictions of open hostilities breaking out between the two nations over Taiwan are unlikely to come true, Hong Kong-based China strategist Andrew Leung told RT.

“China does not have 100% confidence it would prevail over Taiwan [militarily] until at least a couple of years [from now],” he said, citing recent assessments of Chinese military power. Anti-China politicians in the US may hope that Beijing would do “something rash” in response to Pelosi’s trip, but the Chinese government wouldn’t fall for it, Leung expects.

Both China and the US are to undergo sensitive transitions of power this year, he pointed out, so neither government would want a shooting war and both would like to score political points by playing tough with the other. Pelosi in particular is risking her speaker’s gavel,if the midterm elections in the US deprive the Democratic party of its majority in the House, so she may have a personal interest in poking at China, the expert said.

Moscow warns of cutting ties with US

Washington’s idea to brand Russia a sponsor of terrorism would have severe consequences, the Kremlin has cautioned

If the hawks in the US Congress get their way and have Washington designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, it would likely result in a full breakdown of diplomatic relations between the two nations, The Russian Foreign Ministry warned on Tuesday.

“If people in Washington decide to fully stop any interaction with Moscow,we can live with that. There should be no doubt about that,”ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova told journalists during a media briefing.

The idea to add Russia to the blacklist, which already includes Iran, North Korea, Syria and Cuba, is championed by some lawmakers, like Senator Lindsey Graham. A non-binding resolution calling on the US Department of State to take such a move was passed by the Senate last week.

A similar move by the House is strongly advocated by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who drew media attention this week due to her potential visit to Taiwan. China called the trip a serious provocation.

“I hope that the flying speaker will soon return to her home base and discuss [branding Russia a sponsor of terrorism] with people who have at least some interest in how the diplomacy trade works,” Zakharova remarked.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has reportedly resisted calls from Capitol Hill and from Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky for the terrorism designation to be slapped on Russia. The White House argued that such a move would have no practical effect in terms of anti-Russian sanctions that the US is willing to impose and may backfire in various ways.

Zakharova said if the US were to label Russia a state sponsor of terrorism, itwould constitute a “point of no return” for the two nations. The calls to do so are a sign of American weakness, she stated, since Washington is no longer in a position to simply bend to its will any nation whose policy it does not like for some reason.

Russia is not like China, it doesn’t play games, the US Congress or Senate are instigating a destruction of a diplomatic relationship.

Apple Claims It Is the Victim of Human Rights Abuses in Columbia

Lucas Nolan2 Aug 2022

In the ongoing patent infringement battle between Apple and Ericsson, Apple has responded to a court-ordered iPhone ban in Columbia by claiming that its human rights have been infringed.

9to5Mac reports that in an ongoing infringement battle between Apple and Ericsson, Apple has responded to the iPhone ban in Colombia by claiming that its human rights have been infringed. The company has requested emergency relief in Colombia just days after being warned by a U.S. judge not to abuse the Columbian court system by filing emergency requests for non-emergencies.

5G iPhones and iPads use patented technology owned by Ericsson, which Apple has been licensing for some time. However,Apple is unhappy with the amount it’s being charged for the license and has stopped paying. This means that currently, Apple is infringing on Ericsson’s patents and the company is now seeking to ban iPhones in a number of countries by filing injunctions against the import and sale of 5G iPhones and iPads.

Ericcson has succeeded in filing an injunction in Colombia and the court has ordered all iPhone sales in the country to be paused. Apple responded by filing an emergency motion in the Eastern District of Texas in an attempt to obtain damages from Ericsson for its losses in Colombia. The company also filed a number of counter-claims against Ericsson.

A Texas judge rejected Apple’s motion and criticized the company for misusing the emergency motion process for a non-emergency matter.

Foss Patents writes:

Judge Gilstrap doesn’t think it constitutes “imminent, irreparable harm” to Apple that it may–as a result of enforcement actions in other jurisdictions–have to sit down and negotiate a license with Ericsson. The Texas FRAND case will go to trial in December, and no later than September, Apple and Ericsson have to engage in formal mediation […]

There’s also a procedural issue. Apple should have brought a regular motion as opposed to an emergency motion. “Emergency motions are to be filed only in truly extenuating circumstances and should not be used as a means to secure an expedited briefing schedule and hearing before the Court,” Judge Gilstrap clarifies–and “finds that Apple has misused and misapplied the rules for emergency motion practice in this Court.”

The judge also said that if Apple attempted to do something similar again, he would consider penalties against the company. However, despite this warning, Apple has taken major steps to continue the legal fight in Colombia, alleging that its human rights are being abused.

Foss Patents writes:

Apple leaves no stone unturned in its efforts to get Ericsson’s Colombian iPhone/iPad injunction over a 5G standard-essential patent (SEP) lifted, and is now accusing Ericsson, its lawyers, and the court that ordered the injunction to violate basic human rights, invoking even Art. 8 of the famous Universal Declaration of Human Rights. I wonder what’s next–voting rights for iPhones?

Article 8 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states:

Everyone has the right to an effective remedy by the competent national tribunals for acts violating the fundamental rights granted him by the constitution or by law.

Breitbart News will continue to report on Apple and its legal maneuvers.

Greg Norman Pushes Back Against Criticism of LIV Golf — ‘I Really Don’t Care’

Trent Baker2 Aug 2022

During a Monday interview with Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Hall of Fame golfer Greg Norman sounded off about his LIV Golf, the Saudi-backed rival golf league to the PGA.

Norman said he did not “care” about the criticism his LIV Golf league had received. He added that LIV was the “future of golf” to grow the game.

Host Tucker Carlson asked Norman why golf fans were “mad” about the new league and its funding.

“I don’t know,” Norman replied. “I really don’t care, quite honestly.”

“I just love the game so much, and I just want to grow the game of golf. And we at LIV see that opportunity. We at LIV see it not just for the men but for the women. We at LIV see it for NCAA and younger generations. We at LIV see it as a pathway to opportunities for these kids to experience a new world out there. LIV is the future of golf. And it’s a very simple phrase and comment, but LIV is the future of golf because you don’t see what we see in the future.”

In the interview, Norman advised that golf superstarTiger Woods turned down an offer that was somewhere in the “neighborhood” of $700 million to $800 millionto join LIV.

Chicago Health System to Pay Workers $10 Million in Settlement over Vaccine Mandate

Amy Furr1 Aug 2022

The first settlement in the nation has been reached in a lawsuit filed by medical staff regarding an Illinois university system’s coronavirus vaccine mandate.

The Center Square reported Friday:

Chicago-based NorthShore University HealthSystem has agreed to pay more than 500 current and former health-care workers a total of $10,337,500 as part of the terms of the settlement. It’s also changing its policy to accommodate religious exemption requests and rehiring former employees who were fired or forced to resign whose exemption requests were denied.

Represented by the nonprofit religious freedom organization Liberty Counsel, NorthShore employees sued, alleging they were discriminated against because they were denied religious exemptions from the company’s vaccine mandate. The settlement was filed Friday in the federal Northern District Court of Illinois.

In a press release, Liberty Counsel said the settlement must receive approval from the federal District Court.

The group added that employees who were denied religious exemptions would be notified about the settlement and given the chance to comment, object, ask to opt-out, or submit a claim form for payment from its fund.

“NorthShore will also change its unlawful ‘no religious accommodations’ policy to make it consistent with the law, and to provide religious accommodations in every position across its numerous facilities,” Liberty Counsel stated.

Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel addressed the settlement, saying it should be “a wake-up call to every employer that did not accommodate or exempt employees who opposed the COVID shots for religious reasons.”

“Let this case be a warning to employers that violated Title VII. It is especially significant and gratifying that this first classwide COVID settlement protects health care workers,” he concluded.

In a social media post on Friday, Liberty Counsel described the settlement as a “HISTORIC WIN FOR MEDICAL FREEDOM!”

Meanwhile, approximately 260,000 American troops are not fully vaccinated, despite a Biden administration mandate for military members. Now, many face the possibility of being discharged, Breitbart News reported July 13.

The case is Doe v. NorthShore University HealthSystem, No. 1:21-cv-83 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Judge Strikes Down San Francisco Law Allowing Illegal Aliens to Vote

John Binder1 Aug 2022

A San Francisco, California, law that allowed illegal aliens and other foreign nationals to vote in some local elections was struck down in court late last week.

On July 29, San Francisco Superior Court Judge Richard Ulmer overturned the city’s ordinance that was first passed in 2016, which allowed foreign nationals — including illegal aliens — to vote in citywide school board elections so long as they are the parent of a school-aged child and are not incarcerated or out on parole.

By 2018, as Breitbart News reported, the city had spent almost $400,000 to register a total of 61 foreign nationals to vote in the school board elections.

Ulmer, though, ruled that the ordinance is in violation of the California Constitution, which specifically states that “a United States citizen 18 years of age and resident in this state may vote.”

“In sum, San Francisco ordinance 206-21 is contrary to the California Constitution and state statutes and thus cannot stand,” Ulmer wrote,

The ruling is yet another blow to the open borders lobby, which has made noncitizen voting a fixture of their agenda to eliminate the privileges of American citizenship.

In June, the New York Supreme Court similarly struck down a New York City law that allowed foreign nationals to vote in citywide elections so long as they had lived in the city for at least 30 days. In that case, the court found that the state’s constitution is clear that voting “is a right granted to citizens of the United States.”

Summer of Rage, Part III — ‘Ruth Sent Us’ Unmasked: Meet Top Radical Pro-Abortion Activists Connected to Harassment of Justices

Alexander Marlow1 Aug 2022

Since the leak of Justice Samuel Alito’s draft majority opinion in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case that eventually led to the overturning of Roe v. Wade,…interconnected system that provides organizational and/or financial support for this radical agenda.

One group of pro-abortion activists that has risen to prominence during the “Summer of Rage” is “Ruth Sent Us”; the name is an apparent homage to former Supreme Court justice and abortion industry ally Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The organizers of the group have largely remained anonymous.

Ruth Sent Us garnered national attention after publishing the supposed location of the homes (via a Google map) of the six centrist and originalist Supreme Court justices to their website, ruthsent.us. This led to (illegal) protests targeting justices at their homes. In June, a man was arrested outside Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s home and charged with attempted murder.

Four Key Organizers

There are appear to be at least four key organizers behind Ruth Sent Us who are currently identifiable:

Sam Spiegel: The most mysterious member of the group, Spiegel is listed as the admin for ruthsent.us but has very little public footprint to confirm his identity. An attempt to contact Spiegel in the research for the Summer of Rage series was not returned. He is listed as the administrator for Vigil for Democracy, an activist group that also overlaps with several pro-choice groups, most prominently an outfit called Strike for Choice.

Vigil for Democracy created the Ruth Sent Us web site and has thus far raised thousands of dollars to support ongoing protests targeting the conservative justices.

Before it was taken down, links on ruthsent.us redirected to registration pages hosted by Strike for Choice. The Strike for Choice donation page redirects to an online fundraising platform called Open Collective.

The Open Collective fundraising page lists Vigil for Democracy LLC as the fiscal host for Strike for Choice. Corporate records list Russell B. Silvey, Snowden Bishop, and Vara Ramakrishnan as members of the LLC.

Vara Ramakrishnan: Ramakrishnan has been publicly identified as an organizer with Strike for Choice and Vigil for Democracy on multiple occasions.

Ramakrishnan’s address is the same P.O. Box used to register ruthsent.us.

She will be featured in a future article in this investigative series.

Snowden Bishop: A cannabis journalist and radio host, Snowden registered Vigil for Democracy LLC in Arizona. That LLC handles online fundraising for Vigil, Strike for Choice, and Ruth Sent Us. The same address is home to a number of other LLCs linked to Snowden Bishop.

Russell Silvey: Silvey’s background is perhaps the most colorful of the group. He has thus far evaded any media scrutiny, even though he is listed as a member of Vigil for Democracy LLC, which handles online fundraising for groups related to Ruth Sent Us. A Russell B. Silvey is named as a member of the corporation used to handle those funds.

Silvey, who is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, appears to have a notable criminal rap sheet. Broward County court records show an arrest in 2016 for a number of meth-related crimes, including trafficking and conspiracy to traffic.

The address given for a Russel Silvey in court documents matches his address in the registration documents of Vigil for Democracy LLC. After his 2016 arrest, Silvey was declared indigent, claiming he had no income. Prosecutors ultimately did not charge him.

Silvey’s personal details are consistent with those of Justin Russell a.k.a. “JustResisting,” an online account connected to Ruth Sent Us. JustResisting publishes a website, podcast, and various social media accounts pushing whatever left-wing #Resistance causes are currently in vogue. Media reports have identified Justin Russell/JustResisting in connection to Ruth Sent Us, but have so far failed to connect Silvey to the group. Silvey goes by J.R. Silvey on Facebook and Linkedin; he describes himself as an art student with deep experience in blogging and social networking.

While far from household names, the leaders of Ruth Sent Us, as well as the more militant Jane’s Revenge featured in part I and part II of this series, have become some of the most prominent activists in the country. Yet, they have aroused virtually no interest from the establishment media

Joe Biden Celebrates U.S. Drone Strike Killing al-Qaeda Leader Ayman al-Zawahiri; Defends Afghanistan Exit

Charlie Spiering1 Aug 2022

President Joe Biden confirmed reports the United States had successfully killed al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in a drone strike.

“We make it clear again tonight that no matter how long it takes — no matter where you hide — if you are a threat to our people, the United States will find you and take you out,” Biden said.

The president spoke to the country on Monday evening, delivering his remarks outdoors after again testing positive for the coronavirus.

Al-Zawahiri replaced Osama Bin Laden as the leader of the al-Qaeda terrorist network, which continues to spread terror around the world.

Biden recalled that al-Zawahiri was involved in the bombing of the USS Cole, bombing embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, and appearing in recent videos calling for renewed terrorist attacks against the United States.

“Now justice has been delivered and this terrorist leader is no more,” Biden said.

He praised the “superb patriots” in the counterterrorism team for their successful operation.

“None of his family members were hurt and there were no civilian casualties,” he said about the “carefully planned” operation to kill al-Zawahiri in Kabul, which he authorized.

Biden used the news of the successful operation against al-Zawahiri as a defense of his withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“When I ended our military mission in Afghanistan almost a year ago, I made the decision that after 20 years of war, the United States no longer needed thousands of boots on the ground in Afghanistan to protect America from terrorists who seek to do us harm,” he said.

Biden also vowed that Afghanistan would not ever be a staging ground for future terrorist attacks.

“We will never again allow Afghanistan to become a terrorist save-haven,” he said.

During his speech, the president did not mention the 13 soldiers who were killed during his disastrous withdrawal from the country.

Biden recalled the attacks of 9/11 and said he hoped that families of the victims found “a sense of closure” in the news.

“We will never. We will never ever give up,” he concluded.

Report:Texas Democrat Candidate Michelle Vallejo Leaves Hundreds of Thousand of Dollars Off of Financial Disclosure Report

Texas Democrat House candidate Michelle Vallejo left hundreds of thousands of dollars off of her initial Financial Disclosure Report, which lawmakers and candidates are required to file under federal law, Roll Call reported.

According to Roll Call, Vallejo — running against Republican Monica De La Cruz in Texas’s Fifteenth Congressional District — left off more than $200,000 in assets from her initial Financial Disclosure Report in February, which she was required to affirm as “true, complete and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief.”

Following questions raised by Roll Call about two contributions of $50,000 each, which she loaned her campaign earlier in 2022, Vallejo amended her report on July 28.

Under federal law — the Ethics in Government Act of 1978 (EIGA) — members, officers, certain employees, and candidates are required to file Financial Disclosure Statements with the Clerk of the House of Representatives.

Roll Call detailed:

That amended report, filed on July 28, lists five assets that were not included in the original filing. Assets left off are a joint PNC money market account with a value between $100,000 and $250,000, and a jointly held 49 percent ownership interest in Pugla Los Portales, valued between $100,000 and $250,000. She also left off accounts with Capital One and Lone Star National Bank, each valued between $1,000 and $15,000. Additionally, Vallejo didn’t include a jointly held 50 percent interest in Hustle and Socialize LLC, which is valued between $1,000 and $15,000.

That’s a total of between $218,000 and $595,000 in assets. Her first filing only reported between $15,000 and $50,000 in assets.

The Ethics in Government Act authorizes the attorney general to seek a civil penalty up to $50,000 against someone who “knowingly and willfully falsifies or fails to file or to report any required information,” according to the House Ethics Committee. Under federal criminal law, anyone who knowingly and willfully falsifies or conceals any material fact in a statement to the government can be fined up to $50,000 and/or imprisoned up to five years.

A spokesperson for Vallejo’s campaign, Kirby Chandler, told the publication, “We are submitting an amended PFS with additional information that was inadvertently left off the original filing.”

In response to the news, Kedric Payne, a government ethics expert and vice president of the Campaign Legal Center, said that candidates like Vallejo are obligated to report their assets so the general public can be aware of them.

“Sometimes candidates don’t understand the form, but the form is quite clear what are assets. The candidate is obligated to tell voters all of their financial interests,” Payne said.

Deep mistrust’ between US and Zelensky – NYT

US officials are more concerned about Ukraine’s leadership than they acknowledge publicly, the paper’s columnist says

There is a “deep mistrust” between the administration of US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, a New York Times columnist claimed in an article published on Monday. (Sure, right!)

The US has so far been the strongest backer of Ukraine in its conflict with Russia, providing billions of dollars in military aid along with intelligence, but according to the paper’s foreign affairs columnist Thomas L. Friedman, relations between Washington and Kiev are not as they seem.

“Privately, US officials are a lot more concerned about Ukraine’s leadership than they are letting on,” Friedman, a three-time Pulitzer Prize winner, wrote. “There is deep mistrust between the White House and Ukraine President Vladimir Zelensky — considerably more than has been reported.”

(Kek, Friedman is not convincing)

The NYT writer described Zelensky’s decision to fire Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova and the head of the State Security Service (SBU), Ivan Bakanov, in mid-July as “funny business going on in Kiev.”

Friedman noted that he hasn’t yet seen any reporting in the US media that “convincingly explains” the reasons behind the largest shakeup in the Kiev government since the launch of the Russian military operation on February 24.

“It is as if we don’t want to look too closely under the hood in Kiev for fear of what corruption or antics we might see, when we have invested so much there,” he wrote.

The piece was published ahead of the then-unconfirmed visit of the US House Speaker Nancy Pelosito the self-governed Chinese island of Taiwan, which Friedmn criticized as a move that would be “utterly reckless, dangerous and irresponsible.”

Its negative consequences could include “a Chinese military response that could result in the US being plunged into indirect conflicts with a nuclear-armed Russia and a nuclear-armed China at the same time,” he warned.

On Tuesday afternoon, despite warnings from Beijing, Pelosi’s plane landed in Taiwan, which China considers to be part of its territory. In response, China vowed to take “measures to resolutely safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity”. Pelosi has become the most high-ranking US official to visit the island since 1997.

So RT are insinuating that NYT posted this to distract from Pelosi bullshit. Personally I believe there is a much bigger distraction they are covering for

West behind Kosovo escalation – Russian envoy

Tensions between Belgrade and breakaway Kosovo are beneficial to the US and the EU, the ambassador said

The smoldering conflict between Serbia and the breakaway republic of Kosovo is beneficial for the West, Russia’s envoy in Belgrade Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko proclaimed on Tuesday.

Appearing on Russian TV, the ambassador suggested that Pristina was behind the recent escalation between Serbia and Kosovo but insisted that the incident was ultimately orchestrated by the US and the EU, who aim to stage a provocation in Kosovo thatwould put Serbia “on its knees” and pressure it into supporting anti-Russia sanctions=.

“In this case, the EU, just like it was in the case of Ukraine and in the case of anti-Russian sanctions, is following instructions from Washington, contrary to its own interests.Washington benefits from a smoldering conflict. It benefits from keeping the situation on the brink of collapse,” said Botsan-Kharchenko.

The Russian ambassador’s comments come after tensions flared over the weekend on the border between Serbia and its breakaway province, officially called the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija in the Serbian constitution, which received recognition by several Western powers in 2008.

The government in Kosovo planned to ban the use of Serbian-issued license plates and ID papers starting from August 1, and was to use its police force to enforce the measure. On Sunday, Serbs in the north of the breakaway province set up roadblocks and rang alarm bells as heavily armed special police took control over two administrative crossings with Serbia, preparing to implement the order by Pristina.

The situation received a temporary resolution after Washington called on Kosovo officials to postpone the implementation of the controversial law until September 1. Pristina agreed, on condition that Serbia remove barricades from the de facto border.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said that he hopes for tensions to ease and promised that Belgrade would do everything within its power to preserve the peace through compromise.

NATO occupied Kosovo in 1999, after a 78-day air war against what was then Yugoslavia. The province declared independence in 2008, with Western support. While the US and most of its allies have recognized it, Serbia, Russia, China and the UN states in general have not.

The kayfabe Trump is obvious, too old, too fat, too sloppy looking and too droopy in the face. He’s not even good with Trumps facial movements or looks. Is everyone aware he’s fake?

Not at all, noticed that when pics were coming out of Mar A Lago. I even think the fake did a rally. Can’t remember the one but he held it too soon after a dangerous event. I actually think there are at least two body doubles. Can one of them be his brother that passed on?

Almost no Americans see Russia as problem – poll

Just 1% of Americans polled by Gallup cited Moscow as their top concern, compared to 17% for inflation

Americans view soaring inflation, poor governance and the state of the economy as their country’s biggest problems, with just 1% mentioning Russia, according to a poll released by Gallup on Monday.

Despite the Ukraine conflict remaining a major news story in the US, the share of respondents concerned by Russia’s actions has fallen sharply after hitting 9% in March, the month that followed Moscow’s offensive, the polling agency said. The latest data was compiled on July 5-26.

Abortion has become a prominent issue for Americans, with 8% mentioning it as the most serious problem in the country. The level was the highest since 1984, when the agency started tracking it.

The spike in concern over abortion rights follows the US Supreme Court ruling in June that overturned Roe v Wade— the 1973 landmark decision that guaranteed the constitutional right to terminate a pregnancy.

Democrats and blue-leaning independents drove the metric up, with 13% of such respondents mentioning it, as opposed to 4% of Republicans and red-leaning independents.

Abortion issues trailed behind three problems that the US public perceives as more pressing. Inflation and dysfunction in the US government each accounted for 17%, while the general state of the economy concerned 12% of those polled. Overall, the state of the economy was named as the biggest problem for the US, with 35% flagging the issue, modestly down from June, Gallup said.

Russia is not the only story being closely covered by the American media that the public is turning away from, according to the poll. Others included the Covid-19 pandemic, extreme weather, climate change, and the House Select Committee hearings on the January 6 2021 Capitol riots.
