That's what Pence did when he approved HEARING the objection raised by the very first state that could raise an objection: ARIZONA.
The country has been legally engaged in an Open Source 'Public' trial ever since. It didn't end, not legally, because Arizona never withdrew their objection, and the trial is still ongoing, with the public as jury and God as judge.

That's because 'they' threatened the Capitol and it needed to be evacuated. THAT is what 'undermined' the whole process, so even there, legally there hasn't been a closure.
The trial is STILL ongoing, IMO.
