Hundreds of Australian businesses ‘on the verge of collapse’ amid soaring energy prices

Sky News host Chris Kenny says hundreds of businesses across Australia are on the verge of collapse amid mounting pressure from soaring energy prices.

“Businesses and unions say companies are faced with the grim choice of raising their own prices or absorbing the higher cost of gas and electricity, which they simply can’t afford to do, of course,” he said.

“Industry leaders have warned they could be facing economic carnage and forced closures within six to twelve months unless immediate action is taken.”

Mr Kenny discussed the issue with Australian Industry Group Chief Executive Innes Willox.
