Pope to Paulines: Evoke hidden thirst for God with all comms channels
Pope Francis greets participants in the 11th General Chapter of the Society of St. Paul, and urges Paulines to embrace all means of communication to bring forth peopleâs hidden desire for God.
By Devin Watkins
As the Society of St. Paul wraps up its 11th General Chapterâheld from 29 May to 19 June in Ariccia, near RomeâPope Francis met in the Vatican on Saturday with members of the institute founded by Blessed James Alberione.
In his prepared remarks which were handed to those present, the Pope recalled the Chapterâs guiding theme: ââLet yourselves be transformed by renewing your way of thinkingâ (Rm 12:2): Called to be artisans of communion to prophetically announce the joy of the Gospel in the culture of communication."
He noted that St. Paul urges Christians to âallow themselves to be transformed,â which means making space for the Holy Spirit to conform us to Christ, so as to transform the world around us.
Transformed to transform the world
Blessed Alberione, said the Pope, called for Paulines to renew their way of thinking.
âOur mentality must first of all be changed, converted, and assimilated to that of Jesus our Teacher, in order to contribute to spreading in society a way of thinking and living based on the Gospel.â
Pope Francis said Paulines should not only embrace all means of communication to spread the Churchâs teaching, but also âintegrate the message itself into the new culture created by modern forms of communication.â
Technology to build culture of encounter
One key aspect of modern communications, said the Pope, is that of âinterpersonal relationships in a globalized and interconnected world,â which impact both the Church and society.
âAfter the initial euphoria for technological novelties, we now recognize that it is not enough to be âon the webâ or âconnected,â but that we need to understand how our communicationâenriched as it is by the digital realmâeffectively builds bridges and contributes to building a culture of encounter.â
Pope Francis said Blessed Alberione wanted the Paulines to offer themselves fully to the apostolate, in the footsteps of St. Paul.
The Apostle to the Gentiles, said the Pope, was filled with a missionary spirit but carried out his mission in community with others around him. In other words, he worked âwith a networkâ to communicate the Good News to people where and how they live.
Evoke peopleâs thirst for God
Pope Francis thus encouraged the Paulines to employ their professional competencies for the sake of the Gospel in communion.
âYou are called to live communion in fraternity,â he said, âin your relationships with the diocesan communities in which you live and within the larger and diverse Pauline Family. Your horizon is that of Paul: the whole of humanity of our times.â
The Pope wrapped up his speech by recalling that the Paulinesâ mission is to help people who appear far from the Church to become aware of their âdesire for God and thirst for love and truth.â

After another court hearing on July 6, 2000, when again Judge Manning failed to take back her judicial perjuries, I attended in court and interviewed Hanley again in the presence of Dan Ivy.
"Skolnick: So, do you think putting Bob on my TV Show will do some good?
Hanley: No. The time to put him on would have been two years ago at the time of the summary judgment. It's too late now.
Skolnick: So Coca-Cola understands all about this case, through your sister.
Hanley: Yes.
Whereupon, Hanley left."
The foregoing transcripts are contained in my signed Declaration attached to Kolody's Motion for the Judge to wipe out all her rulings of substance because of the Fraud Upon the Court by the Judge and Coca-Cola's spy in Kolody's camp for ten years. [Motion filed 8/9/2000, in No. 97 C 190.]
As I later discovered, Daniel V. Hanley's sister, Mary Hanley, is Associate Media Director [(312) 552-6368] of the huge, worldwide advertising firm, DDB. [Visit their website:http://www.ddb.com and click on their world directory of personnel for Chicago and Mary Hanley.]
As I put in my Declaration in Court: "The long-term custom, practice, and usage, in certain parts of the U.S. to purportedly purchase federal judgeships, has been a subject of investigations and commentaries by Skolnick and his closest associates, from 1966 to the present date. Skolnick has such a commentary on his website, http://www.skolnicksreport.comâŚKnowledgeable sources have informed Skolnick that the upwards of one million dollars to purportedly purchase the judgeship for Blanche M. Manning came from William F. Cellini via U.S. Senator Carol Moseley-Braun. Law enforcement personnel contend to Skolnick that Cellini, heavily active in gambling casinos, is reporrtedly a key player in the crime cartel."

Declaration:
"Skolnick jointly with some of his associates in court reform, have been investigating the circumstances of a case pending before Judge Manning: USA vs. Joseph Jerome Miedzianowski, et al., defendants, No. 98 CR 923, U.S. District Court,Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division. The circumstances show: (a) Judge Manning, many times without notice conducted closed door and secret proceedings in the case; (b) ordered the censoring, by redacting of court and other transcripts; (c) Chicago Tribune Company petitioned, to intervene in the case as of right, for among other purposes, for access to sealed judicial records and transcripts of proceedings; (d) Chicago Tribune apparently never publicly disclosed their objections to the secret proceedings in the case. Some references to this situjation are contained in the case in No.98 CR 923, among other items, docket items No. 174, 175, 176 , 180, 182, 186, 192."
