Boat accident kills teen

A 16-year-old boy is dead after a boating accident at Holden Beach. It happened around 11:00 am Monday.
Authorities say 16-year-old Charles Butler Smith of High Point died on impact when the boat he was driving went under a pier.
Smith was driving a 19-foot boat with his 14-year-old girlfriend, Cassidy Hutchinson. According to witnesses, Smith looked down, taking his eyes off the water, and when he looked up, he hit this pier.
Hutchinson was treated and released from the hospital.
Some witnesses say it was one of the worst boating accidents they've ever seen.
