Wondering HTF a handcuffed guy on a (police) bus can saw out of the "cage" he was in – especially without "other guard" (besides the stabbed driver) onboard not hearing anything? Was this guard both blind & deaf - assuming there was, indeed, police presence on board besides the driver?

On May 12, Lopez got away by shedding his shackles and cutting through a metal barrier before stabbing a correctional officer and getting away on foot after the prison transport bus he had taken over crashed.

Lopez was being transported from the Alfred Hughes Unit (outside of Gatesville in Central Texas) to a prison medical facility in Huntsville when he was able to get loose and stab the bus driver in the hand and chest. He drove off in the bus but didn't get far after another guard shot out the bus' back tires with a shotgun.

How does an ankle/wrist-cuffed guy do this in such a confined area unseen, unheard in suffient time period to accomplish such a thing? Did he accomplish the sawing-out with his handcuffs? Are hand (and/or ankle) cuffs that sharp?

Nowhere does it say what the driver was stabbed with. Could he stab driver with handcuffs, while hand (and ankle) cuffed? How'd he run away so fast with ankle cuffs on to begin with…? He had sufficient time to unlock cuffs (perhaps grabbed from the driver) with (supposed) other guard right there?
