Hmm I know a lot of you might feel sorry for the homeless but a lot of them are truly a lost cause or need years of detox/counselling to recover. The ugly truth is that most of them are completely unhouse-able; they are absurdly filthy and hoard everything until their rooms are packed to the ceiling. Let one of them in your building and it is ground zero for theft, cockroaches, rats and bedbugs.
I used to rent a cheap ass place in the city but it was filled with alcoholics, womanizers and drug users. The craziest shit I ever seen was a guy who abandoned his room and ditched on rent. I walked into the room that tenant was staying in because the door was open and the manager was there investigating anyways. I'm not exaggerating but the mattress in the room was literally 1 inch thick of bedbugs. You couldn't see any part of the mattress, just totally covered in bedbugs. Imagine the guy slept on that every night… truly a swamp creature. The sink in the room was a mountain of cigarette butts, the walls caked in yellow from the smoke.
I've seen the underbelly of cities and it is exactly what you think it to be.
