Later that evening there was a dinner.
A large long table was up on the stage
lots of important men sitting
some joviality
Jackie was late
problem with her wardrobe?

When Jackie arrived, she did not come from back stage
or a secure back entrance
she came through the front door
and walked through the crowd toward the stage
Something was in the air.
You know what I wonder?
I wonder if
once our planet transgressed out into space
once mankind exceeded his own atmosphere
the alliance of universal planets stepped in
they needed an ambassador from earth
to sit on the council and represent our planets interests
now it sounds nutty BUT
it explains how such treason happened
how beloved our President was at the time
and the large group that had to be involved

or perhaps setting up plastic surgery for him
so that he could live a double life
as ambassador
it made more sense than an event of MASS TREASON
it would have involved dozens of co-conspirators
military and civil servants
